I purchased this router in 2011 and it has worked well. pretty easy set up with my wireless printer at the time. this router has been dropping my apple products constantly for about a year now and it was time to put it to rest.

Much better than the last N600

I recently gave up on my old N600 router (previous design) because it couldn't keep a connection for more than 20 minutes after only a few months. The new version is 100% more stable, and plays much nicer with my wireless devices around my home.

The dual ban router made a big difference in terms of network reliability and the ability to filter pfishing, spam and unseemly sites has worked very well. I purchased the router on Black Friday for the $59 and have found it to be worth every penny.

    Fair, but not great.

Bought this router because of good experience with a previous Netgear device. This one was a little awkward to setup, plus the Users Manuel is lacking in a lot of respects. I had to dig around the 'net to find two specific answers. Not a friendly device to deploy, but better than some. Also, it drops my internet connection several times a week, usually after a few hours of inactivity, but sometimes "just because". I'm using the very same ISP at this location as the previous spot with the same computer. No trouble before. with the older router. I would have gladly spend another twenty bucks to get more ease of installation, better documentation, and more reliable connection.

I was hesitant on this wireless router at first considering its size, but I love it, and put it in the perfect place in my apartment. It comes with a security password, and its easy to remember. Great router for a 1-2 bedroom apartment.

    Worst Router I've Owned

After several years and trying this router to multiple locations, I'm done with it. It doesn't reliably stay connected with any device. We've tried with Kindle Fires, Samsung tablets, iPhones, iPads, HTC phones, Samsung phones, Motorola phones, laptops, etc. It won't stay connected 10 feet away with direct line of sight. We have a very solid cable internet connection, yet there is often lag in online gaming or streaming video applications. Maybe it's time to try a different brand.

3rd time's the charm? This is the 3rd router I've purchased. Two previous ones unstable and overheated/died. So far this one is flawless.

I'm using this router for my laptop on the second floor with the 2.4 GHZ, and the router is down stairs, and on the second band 5 GHZ I'm using that for my Vizio Interent TV, and my Playstation 3, and they read together so perfectly.

I am a casual pc user. Mostly e-mail and internet browsing. My old router failed and I went to Best Buy to find a replacement. The sales person was helpful and I was able to return home and put it into service immediately. Excellent!

Good wireless router for the money

I need a wireless router that could take a heavier load. I had a wireless router that actually worked pretty good, but with gaming and several computers and other items on the network I just needed one that could work through floors.

I purchased this to setup my own wireless hub in an extended stay hotel and to connect to AppleTV. It works great. Tied in to the wired internet of the hotel, it gives me much better performance than the hotel's own wireless internet.

This product is amazing once it is set up. The setup process is a little difficult as I had to call netgear several times before it worked properly. After set up is works great!

Easy to set up, good functionality, modern security standards, automatic check for firmware upgrades. Highly recommended with just a couple of minor glitches (says an update is available all the time even when one is not)

    Good for 2 weeks

Worked great for two weeks then failed to connect anything but my iphone. Failed 3 times in one week. They offered to replace it if I paid the shipping fee, $29 next business day, cheaper for an option whereby I ship them the bad one and they send me one that might work longer. Not an option for me. I'll buy a competitor, ship the router and see how long it takes to get a replacement.

Works great, got on sale for a very good price. It's great for both my laptop and desktop and sharing data on the connected USB port with an external hard drive is great.

Netgear Genie app is informative - networked devices and traffic meter. Purchased almost four weeks ago and I have not needed to power it off and reset it once.

I bought this because we could not stream Netflix consistently to our new blu-ray player without constant interruptions for re-buffering! Now everything works perfectly, no matter how many people are online in the house!

    Great-once it is set up!

What I found out was that the laptop used to install the wireless aspect of the router, needed to be re-set up once the rest of the house was wireless. In short, what ever computer you use to set the router up, you need to call into the customer service dept of NetGear to walk you through the steps to make that computer wireless. It was not intuitive at all! I should have paid a couple more dollars for the router that just needs one button pushed to set up. I am not a complete idiot when it comes to installations, however I was blown away with the effort needed to finally be able to use ALL computers wirelessly.
