Great for streaming

Easy and dependable
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My last router failed soon after installing so I was concerned about this happeing again. But this router has not had a problem and is very dependable. It works great in my small home.

Excellent Router
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have no complaints about this Router. It allowed us to get good signal throughout a 2 bedroom apartment in all rooms and to about 50 feet outside the house. Met our needs.

Good for its price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It has been 2 months since I bought this router and it works well. Only problem is it sometimes gets 'hanged' and needs to be re-plugged.

Not good for a 2 story home or Netflix
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had trouble with Netgear Routers before but decided to give this one a shot anyway since it was half the price of the comparable Cisco Linksys. It was great...for about 2 days. Then, the signal started getting dropped and downloads were frequently interrupted. Trying to watch Netflix on my Sony Bravia TV was painful as it kept having to stop and reload the movie. After 2 weeks of constantly having to powercycle and still losing the signal, I exchanged it for the very expensive (but so far completely worth it) Cisco Linksys 3000. My trouble may have been that we have a two story home, but the signal would get lost even when I was next to the router. Maybe it was just a faulty unit. I don't know. I do know that I've been extremely pleased with the Linksys 3000 and have had Netflix streaming on my Wii, Xbox Live on my Bravia TV, and 2 laptop computers all using the internet at the same time in various places of my 2 story home and haven't had any trouble with lost signals yet. It's been nearly 3 weeks.

It keeps dropping my devices
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It installed easily enough, but ALL of my wireless devices keep dropping and then reconnecting. In doing some internet research, this seems to be a common problem, but there is no fix that I have been able to find. I have not had a chance to call tech support yet, but I'd better do it soon - you only get 90 days of free support. Also, it runs very very hot.

Very dependable router
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Haven't had an issue with this router connecting my home network and blu-ray players online features. Seems to be very stable other than a small buzzing that happens now and then.

Good wireless, great for the deal I got.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Middle of the road. Instructions were a little hard to understand, depending on what platform you're running. Overall, good value. Wireless in the home, at times, is hit and miss.

Likes to disconnect a lot
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve discovered with the use of NETGEAR Range Max Dual-Band Wireless-N Router with 4 Ethernet Ports is that the two different laptops from different makers loose signal quite randomly and often as well as going from full strength signal to poor signal and without even moving a single computer. My wife and I find it very frustrating. I wouldn’t buy this router again. The only thing I liked was the ease of setting the router up.

Works ok
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works reliably but not as good of range as it implies. Had to buy a range extender as well.

Love the router
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Although I had to hard wire 2 of my computers to the router during initial setup to get them working properly, I have had no trouble or complaints with this wireless router.

For Fans of Power Cycling
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have owned this router for a number of months and this is when I usually write reviews because that is the true test. My experience is CLASSIC WNDR3400 and dropped connection issues that are well documented across the internet. I am also a PC builder and not a network "noob" and I have the right experience. Router was initially a good performer but over time the mysterious wi-fi disconnects started only to be resolved by power cycling or disabling then re-enabling the wireless radio in the router browser setup. I travel a TON for work and there is nothing more bothersome than your family always calling or texting every day that the "wireless is DOWN again." If you like this then the WNDR3400 is for you. Netgear used to be rock solid but lately I have no idea what is going on with them. tech support? Forget it, worst in the business. They seem more content with taking your money and having you throw their stuff in the trash. They do NOTHING to encourage your future repeat business. Have tried a firmware update, changing my DNS servers from what my Comcast ISP provides to Google DNS, now OpenDNS, and they all still can't save the WNDR3400 from its neverending dropped connections. Frustrating is not the word to describe it. Would somebody please make a solid, reliable consumer grade wireless router? I have a new TP-LINK TL-WDR4300 arriving tomorrow. No more Netgear for me.

Great Router
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I only payed 60 bucks for this thing a few months ago and so far I haven't had any problems... upgraded from a linksys router and this thing is much faster and more secure.

Equipment Doesn't Last
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My primary problem with this unit and other Netgear wireless routers is their lifespan has been about 18 months before they become erratic and unreliable. This unit was the second of three I've purchased over the years and they all have the same problem. The design appearance is great, the interface superb, especially for home non-techies. Reliability is the big problem and after three of these units fouling way too early, I'm no longer a Netgear user.
