Its quite easy to fix when you lose connection. But it is inconvenient. So far it is pretty quick to connect to the internet.

Worked great - for a few months

Everything about this router was great - especially coming from an old wireless-B router. However, over the last few months it became the single biggest point of frustration in my household. It was constantly dropping the wireless - G or N, it didn't matter. The first few times, I reset the configuration and reconfigured all wireless settings including new SSIDs and wireless channels. This would fix things for maybe a day. I updated the firmware to the latest version and reconfigured again. Once again, I had about 24 hours of wireless ability before it would degrade and disappear. Finally, I yanked it out and replaced it with a Belkin N600DB and I've had absolutely no problems since. The NetGear has a lifetime warranty and I've been working with them for days to address the issues, or replace it. Unfortunately, I've not managed to get responses more intuitive than Level 1 tech support - such as reboot the router, update firmware (even though I already have and stated so)... I'm very disappointed in this router, and am questioning even using it if they manage to honor the warranty and replace it. I've read many forums online where people were experiencing very similar issues.

Netgear doesn't honor the Lifetime Warranty

I bought this from Best Buy 3 years ago. It worked okay except I needed to reset it every 24 hours. When a storm took out my cable modem it quit communicating over the ethernet connection. After a lot of testing I hooked up an older Belkin router I had and called Netgear to get my replacement unit under the warranty. What I got was someone in tech support from India that I could barely understand. Because the router would communicate with the computer he insisted it was in working order (he ignored the fact that it wouldn't communicate with the modem) and would not help me further unless I purchased an expensive extended support service plan. This is a shameful way by Netgear to try and extort more money from their customers. Netgear has lost me as a customer and I will recommend to all my friends, family and colleagues NOT to buy Netgear products.

every few days, the password needs to be re-entered and certain gadgets takes a couple of time before it picks up the signal...and the usb port for network sharing is not as simple as it says....anyhow, i'd probably go back to linksys....hate that i just wasted 80 bucks!!!!

Just bought this router today and am returning it. Had a Belkin for 6 years and it decided to die so got this thing as replacement. The 5g doesn't work on the second floor of our small townhome and the 2.4g doesn't work at all. Beyond frustrating. Useless. I don't understand all the positive reviews.

For whatever reasons, sometimes the Wi-Fi signal is poor on the Wii system set up in the living room. The cable internet modem and router are currently placed in the middle bedroom, where it should distribute wireless internet equally throughout my apartment. Not the case all the time, and I know it can't be my internet service. These are issues I can deal with, because it doesn't happen ALL the time.

Just bought this router, took 20 minutes to install, and works great. The only problem, I wish the range was a little better.

Please with this one so far. Can't get any router to deliver a strong signal all over the house. otherwise it is top end.

This replaced a LynkSys-N router that failed. Brought the new NetGear Router home, and it was up and running very quickly.

This is great for the average home user, little trouble w/ software at first but nothing reading the directions didn't fix.
