    Works...sort of

The LED lights are extremely annoying, but nothing that a little electrical tape can't correct. Performance is fair, although the PS3 occasionally loses connection. Other wireless devices seem to work flawlessly. The signal strength is pretty weak with a range of no more than 75 to 100 feet. It was easy to set up.

Been using this device for a couple of months. I haven't seen much difference in this wireless and the hard wire one.

Once we got the product hooked up it is working fine. Hook up took us a few times, that was a little frustrating.

Extremely Unreliable with Hardware Power Failure

I bought the device and the installation was a brief. Not only that, the WIFI connection to my PS3 was excellent. Then six weeks later, the router suddenly stops working and the Power Test button starts flashing. I tried resetting the router, modem, and reconfiguring the devices but that didn't work. I called Netgear customer service but they can only provide technical support within the first 30 days of the purchase or they'll have to charge me a fee of $169 which was out of the question because a new router only cost half as much. I went online and found that other people had the same problems and the issue was a hardware power failure within the device which causes the flashing. Now the device is junk. Should of done my homework before buying this router. Netgear products are unreliable and customer service is a joke. People with positive reviews probably had the router for a few days so don't believe them. I use to have a Linksys Router and that device lasted me for over five years. I'm going back to that brand and will never buy another netgear product ever again. I would definitely recommend this product to friends who I dislike.

    How reliable is N?

I'm not sure, actually, which is the reason for my "average" rating in Performance. We have two new MacBook Airs in the house. They manage to find the N network *most* but not all of the time, and there are times when they find the N network but can't connect ("network connection timed out" or a similar message). Not sure what the issue is here, but perhaps the bugs not out in N.

Once I figured this thing out, it was fine. The Linksys routers I have had in the past were easier to install.

    netgear router

it might be a mechanical failure, but this particular router's performance is not as stellar as expected. Several times a week the connection - even when you are less than 10ft away from the router, will suddenly drop, pick up, and drop again. Very frustrating when trying to pay bills, etc.

    Not happy with product

I had to purchase this item after my Netgear Wireless router stopped working, after about 5 years of use. I bought this one as an Upgrade and spent more money than I originally intended. Thinking since it was more money and was a newer model, it would be better. It was difficult to install and ended up having to call technical support. That process was relatively easy, however the first Netgear product I bought was much simpler to install than this one. Since the first installation, I've had to call the Netgear Tech Support line a second time because it stopped working after only 2 weeks from the first installation. They were able to assist me with installing the item again. I asked them why it needed to be installed a second time and I was told that just happens from time to time. I have never heard of having to re-install a router more than once, especially since it was never uninstalled. I never got the answer that I wanted or expected. It's been one month since the purchase and so far so good (fingers crossed).
