wouldn't buy
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Worked for a few days before all of my devices stopped connecting to it. Wasn't able to log in to the Router it self at the same time to see what was going on. Had to factory Reset it 5 time before i was able to get it working enough to us it. Ended up going back to my old 10 year old netgear router since it stopped working again. And my devices or anything wouldn't be able to connect to the wireless. I would recommend spending the extra $ and going for the Netgear Night Hawk.

Piece of junk
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am a network administrator and I consider myself fairly advanced in the networking field, that is why I am confident when I say this router is a piece of junk. It drops connection constantly and as for running my PS3, forget about it. My old linksys wireless G router was leaps and bounds above this thing. I bought this because of the price and the great sounding amenities it came with. The old saying goes "if it is too good to be true, then it probably isn't" and that applies here. Giong back to BestBuy again and will be getting Cisco this time. Also Netgear's customer service is a joke.

Worked great! Then it didn't........
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this router mainly for the dual band n wireless, was leary of switching from Linksys. It worked really well for about the duration of Best Buys return policy, then it just stopped. Every single wireless device in my home was suddenly unable to connect. Three hours on the phone with netgear tech and still no resolution. Ohh, wait there calling now.... Great there issuing an RMA, guess i'll be without a router for a couple of weeks. I would not recomend this to anyone, go with linksys. My linksys ran for 7 years before it needed replacing.

Junk when used with DISH Internet
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am on my second unit within 1 month-n600 wireless dual band model # WNDR3400. This unit will NOT WORK with DISH Hi-speed internet using a wireless set-up, Will not connect to certain web sites. Netgear Tech Service has not fixed it as of this time-about 5 hours on the phone! 2 hours on the phone dealing with DISH. This may be a DISH issue-but dish says it is the router. All Netgear wants to do is re-configure the factory settings-which does not work longer than a day or so! Buy a different brand or do not use Dish.

Returned it
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I thought that I should get a new router with N technology since we were using so many wireless devices at home (Xbox, laptops, phones, kindles) First of all, we were having problems with some of our older (g) devices (XBox) being incompatible with the 801n. But even our new devices..kindles, laptops etc, were not getting any wireless service. It was sending out only intermittent signals resulting in connected, disconnected, connected, diconnected. So I returned it and reconnected my old D-Link 801g and everything is fine again.

Not as advertised
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Through no fault of this routers manufacturer I have to give this router 1 star. Its listed on the site as 4 Port Gigbit ports but when I got to the store to pick it up it only had 10/100 ports except for WAN which was gigabit.

Horrible!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had such a horrible experience with this router.. I had it about 3 weeks before I finally gave up and took it back. First, the massive blue strobe light on top is REALLY annoying! Second, I have a 20 Mb connection and 80% of the time this router would only give me 3 Mb via wireless.. (wired still gave me 20 Mb) the straw that broke the camel's back was when I had to disconnect my iPhone from wifi because I was getting better speeds on Verizon's 3G Network.. Took it back today and got a cisco linksys that I'm in love with!!!

Wireless stopped working the 2nd week
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good looking product. Compact. Easy to setup. I was happy with it for a few days. Then wireless connections started to acting up. It frequently drops 5 mbps. Connection keeps drops out. Then completely stopped working. I've had bad experiences with Netgear product. This is the 3rd one. The previous two all lasted less than a year. I'm returning this junk to the store tomorrow. Will never buy a Netgear.

Unable to connect.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My Belkin, which I was having continuous problems just had to be replaced. Unable to connect the NetGear 600 router to the 3 computers in my home. Finally, had to return it. This was the 2nd recommendation by Best Buy's sales person. Came back and purchased his primary and 1st recommendation, a Cisco E2000. Installed and communicated immediately and have not had a problem since plugging the Ciscso E2000 in.

Beware - product cheap
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My second Netgear N600 just went out in less than 4 weeks. Even though power is connected, it would not turn on. Technical help for Netgear is offshore. My old Netgear router (5 years old) works better than this new improved version. The streaming of movies and videos did not improve even with a high speed internet and TV literally 5 feet away from router. Poorly made product. I also could not fine a way to change the default router name they provide you to one that I oculd personnaly select.

Would not work-had to return it
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I set up my prior g router years ago with no problems however I spent hours trying to set this thing but but it would not work. The tech support is worthless and the first thing they do is blame your computer, cable modem or even your cables ! Clearly they had no interest in really helping, just shifting the blame to other devices. I returned it the next day and purchased a belkin 600- I had it up and running in about 20 minutes and it has been working fine for a month now.

Slow speed
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Replaced my old Dlink wireless G with this router. Easy setup, but noticed the internet speed was not what it used to be. Ran a speedtest and shows 2MB download when I got 20MB from my old Dlink. Reset the router and cable modem and still the same. Connected my Dlink back, got 20MB again. Even updated the firmware on the Netgear and didn't help at all. Back to BestBuy we go.

Dual Band drops connections
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We found that the Netgear N600 Dual Band router would drop our wireless connections. And there were times where we got into a loop where we connected for only 1 second and then got dropped and 3-4 seconds later connected again but only for 1 second. Worked with Netgear support but their suggestions did not correct problem. Returned item to Best Buy and bought a different brand.

Terrible set up!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I spent 6hours on the phone with someone twice from the Phillipines then once from tech in India. They read from a script each time and didn't help at all. This was supposed to be plug and go. I was finally told by the guy in india he was sorry but the unit must be bad please return to who you bought from. I TOOK IT BACK TO BEST BUY AND BOUGHT THE ONE I SHOULD HAVE IN THE FIRST PLACE THE CISCO 3000 PLUGGED IT IN AND BLAZED AWAY FIRST TRY. PS.DON;T BUY NETGEAR...

Very Disappointed
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very disappointed. Router loses connection every 15-30 minutes and runs very slow. I had an older model linksys that was infinitely superior to this. Returning this as soon as possible a getting a Linksys instead.

Piece of junk can't even get through the next room
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This netgear really is horrible! I hooked it up in my 2000 sq ft home and I have no reception at the corners of my house. I tried calling netgear. Their customer service is even worse. I don't know why I bought another one. I think that is about all Best BUy sells. No more netgear for me. The old one I had died after 6 months I called Netgear. Netgear said to bad your warranty is over. We need more choice no more netgear
