Too confusing to install, had to return

I had hoped this would work, but unfortunately, you have to be a computer genius or something to install it. I'm pretty good with them, but couldn't figure it out for nothin! After a few hours of frustration, I gave up, put it back in the box and returned it and got a Belkin. Plugged it in, and installed within 5 minutes.

    Drops internet connection

The internet connection drops for long periods of time without warning. Called Netgear. Took multiple calls. Finally, they determined the box is faulty. Issued a RMA # but I still have not received the replacement. It is just not worth the time and effort. Will buy a Belkin router and write off the Netgear as a loss.

    Drops connection

This router is a piece of garbage. I have two networks set up but it broadcasts them both only intermittently. It CONSTANTLY drops the connection. Then today it just blew away the settings for both wifi networks and now won't let me access the console.

    Worked for only two weeks

This is the third NETGEAR product that I have installed and owned, the first two are great but this one was lemon. Installation was not as easy as the others and it worked well for about two weeks then would lose the internet link after a reset within 40 minutes. I returned it today and bought a differnet model.

    Still Not Installed

I was told it would be quite easy, but couldn't get the network up. Almost hired a Tech to come to my place same night because I had documents that needed to be printed before morning. I was finally able to restore the old one which saved me another $240 (from the Tech). The Item sits in it's box still.

    Netgear fails again!

My first Netgear router lasted a couple of years, since then I replaced my WNR3500L 3 times while under warranty and upgraded to this model (WNDR3400) within the past month. It makes a good wired network but the wireless range in somewhere around 5 feet. It's time to look for something that actually works!

    Ayyyyeeeeeeiiiiii

This thing is possessed! I managed to make it connect to the internet just once, it took over the home network and reset all of my equipment, my laser printer still won't print correctly. Unless you are a networking wizard give this a miss. Also entire unit slows to slowest device on your network.

Another bummer purchase for my home office. Paid for geek squad installation of new computer, wireless router, etc., etc., and can't get wireless in my living room. Total house isn't 2000 square feet. Have to start over this week :(

Router would have to be reinstalled at least daily if not more often. Netgear tech support was the worst call that i have ever made. He said that he would call be back and I am still waiting. Router is in the trash. Live and learn.

    Horrible! Worst tech service ever!

Product did not set up properly, a normal 30 minute set up had been took ove 4 hours on the phone and it never did get working properly. Tech Services wanted to sell a $300 service contract more than making product work. Would not excalate the problem to a US tech. Netgear + NEVER

I set it up and connected all my devices. It worked for 2 minutes and then quit. The 2.4G LED stopped lighting and the radio stopped transmitting. Traded it for a Cisco and get even better test speeds for $1.38 more.

    Two Bad

This is my second unit and it died just like the first one. I've only had it for 14 days and it stopped working. The only thing that worked was the power on and off button, everything else didn't. I'm going to return it and select a different model. I have no faith in this one.

I have now had two of these routers and both died after 30 days use. They were not user friendly to set up either. I spent an hour on customer support on both of them to get them up and running. Guess I'll be taking the latest one back today or tomorrow for an exchange!

Could not configure it despite all the help from the auto set up and documentation. Called NetGear tech Support, who could not help with the issue and said might be a defect with the Product so returned it.
