Pleasant Surprise
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Need to extend the range of my Dlink DIR-655 and the reviews of their product were poor. The Netgear extender was easy to setup and has performed well even through two powere failures in our home. I did not havde to reprogram it. TOTALLY SATISFIED!

Finally an extender that works..
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I must have tried 20 of these over the years and I finally have one that works. This was easy to setup, and using my Netgear N router I can actually get a 100% signal out in my studio behind my house 200' away.

Great way of extending your signal.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After debating for months to get this item I succumbed to it when I had a $30 rewardzone coupon. My BB store rarely has this item and when I was perusing one day online it was in stock! The package only came with the extender and power supply so it was a no-brainer to set up. I did have a problem with connecting at first but finally figured out why it wasn't synching with my wireless router (d-Link 655). By default the range extender uses AES and TKIP. I had to manually set it up for AES only with WPA, same as my wireless and voila it worked and couldn't be happier. I also like the 4 ports it comes with. This will come in handy if your system doesn't have wireless capabilities but can connect with a cable.

Consider Alternatives
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First, I'd like to say that I've used a wide range of Netgear products in the past and this was the first range extender that I've tried that had a 4-Port Switch on the back. Initial thoughts, product was great and easy to set up out of the box, directions were clear. Now it's 5 months to the day and all it is for me is a headache. The connection does not stay active. It will drop, requiring me to restart which is only temporary because it will drop within the hour, if I get lucky I'll get a couple more hours. I've tried numerous fixes, re-flashed firmware, changed wireless channels, SSID and even putting it in the same room. Nothing seems to hold the connection. One thing I haven't tried is a different Router, but that would defeat its "Universal" name. I wouldn't recommend wasting your time on this product because of the similar reviews I've seen and the amount of people complaining about the product on the Netgear Forum. There are plenty of good reviews, but what many will fail to acknowledge is their review time period. I've given the product a substantial amount of time to work and now it has failed me. Netgear doesn't seem to care that I wasted my money, but hopefully enough people will see that this does not live up to expectations and they'll look elsewhere.

Works like a charm!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I live in a 2 story house and my Netgear N300 just will not reach my room (about 100ft away). I decided that enough was enough and bought this sweet range extender! The internet on my computer is now faster than ever. It is like my desktop computer is right next to the router itself! I can now browse my favorite website easily with minimal loading time and load YouTube videos with ease! The instructions inside were confusing for me so I decided to use YouTube for instructions and found the best instructional video that I have ever seen titled "Extending wireless network range with a repeater HP and Netgear". It makes everything so much easier to understand! I tried to connect it to a different router (Netgear N600) but it didn't work out for me. Luckily the N300 was my previous router and with the help of that video it took less than 10 minutes to hook up using my laptop. I have yet to try it out with my Xbox, I'm sure it will work great though!

Easy Set-Up and Works Great!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had a very hard time connecting some WiFi devices in my home. I tried buying a new WiFi router with extended range but I found no improvement in performance. I tried this extender, which set-up very easily and really worked well.. It even has 4 Ethernet connections for better signal. It was an excellent low cost solution.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this to extend range of Wireless Net Gear router from one building to another...Works excellent..Had to get some help installing it, but that was minor, he knew what he was doing and had it working in less than an hour, range is about 50+ feet through 3 exterior and interior walls..I would highly recommend this product..

The best
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought 2 another extenders (Netgear and Cisco) earlier, but returned both of them. This one has best range out of three, and what i like that it creates additional network instead of extending initial one, so i can switch between networks depending on which one closer. And the price is very nice.

Works as stated for very reasonable price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My house had some dead spots due to window film and the layout of the residence. This product took me 10 minutes to set up and connect to my existing router. Now I have coverage house wide. Solved an issue I've been dealing with for 4 years. Works as stated for a reasonable price.

Simple to setup but not reliable
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this device in November to extend better coverage to my basement. I liked the additional ports on the device and figured I would hard wire my Xbox and playstation. The device was pretty simple to setup, then again I work in IT. When the device works properly the connection speeds are decent and I don't have any problems connecting other devices to it. However when the extender sits idle for a day or so it drops it's connection and I have to reboot. The extender connects to a Linksys E6400, I've tested the Linksys and it works like a champ, It's time to return it for a replacement.

A good buy
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This item was extremely easy to set up. Because of cross-brand universal linking, all I had to do was press a button on my existing router, then press a button on this extender, and they linked automatically. The range is decent, but not awesome. I use it mainly as an access point for a computer that doesnt have a wi-fi card in another room.

Does everything I hoped for
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It works seamlessly with my D-Link router to provide wireless coverage the the entire house and yard. I had a problem before buying this range extender with coverage, both because of the area I needed to cover and the construction of our house (which has aluminum foil in the walls). Because of where the utilities enter the house I have to have the cable modem in a corner. Some devices just could not connect reliably to the 802.11g network from the far corner of the house. Problem solved. Now I can even use my tablet from the back porch - sitting outside, reading a book and drinking iced tea. Or from the garage - looking up manuals online while working on the car. Also, setup was easy, read the simple instructions and you will have no problem.

Netgear Wireless Extender
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After experiencing much trouble with getting good connectivity consistently throughout my house (albeit 3 stories and made of concrete), my ISP technician recommended purchasing one of these. I was so excited since it seemed like this would certainly be the answer to what the problem was, however I was sorely disappointed. It now seems to me that unless you have a straight line from your router to this wireless extender, without any walls, angles or rooms to get in the way of the signal, then it just will not work. It is actually too bad that in a house such as ours, we could not use 2 decent routers, placed on different floors. This was the idea of this extender but it can only work extending the signal from one router in an unobstructed line. I am keeping it though, because my ISP reimbursed me for it for all the problems I experienced and for the fact that perhaps in the future there will be a use for it.

Works as advertised + added benefit
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this to extend my home wifi and works great. It also has 4 ethernet connection ports. I set it up at my entertainment system and use the ports for my TiVo, DirecTV, Slingbox, and Roku. This makes it a nice wireless bridge. Had it two months and no problems.

Good Simple Product
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this as I needed to increase the distance for my wireless connection as it is at one end of a ranch style house and I use my laptop at the other end most of the time. I was happy with how easy it was to get connected into my network. I had no problems setting it up or getting it to find the network. I connected my computer to it and was off and running. It was a few days later that it started taking me to a different Netgear webpage and asking me for a system password that doesn't exist. I tried several things to get this resolved but none had any effect. I finally disconnected it and started all over again setting it up from initial start. once I did this had no issues connecting. I need to do this every few days now as there is no other way around it, that I have found anyway, Including any hardware/software/firmware updates.

Perfect for what I needed
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. No need to runs wires through the attic or under carpets anymore. I do embedded programming and I needed a CAT5 drop for a device that does not support wireless. This was perfect and so easy to setup.

Great product
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I went in not even shopping for this type of product, but it caught my eye as i passed it. I did not know that i could boost my wireless router. I have a pretty large house and my router was not always reaching all of my rooms. Since i added this product it covers my whole house with ease. Set-up was a breaze, my computer however made it difficult. I ended up calling their support number and they helped me with my computer and had me up and running in about ten minutes. I would reccomend this product to anyone that needs to extend the range of their current router.
