Works well mostly. But sometimes I have to reboot it to regain internet connection. ISP - Optimum.

    Great Wi-Fi Range Extender

I have trouble getting my Wi-Fi into my living room upstairs. With the NetGear Range Extender there is no longer a problem. I called Tech Support to initally set the Extender up and they were extremely helpful and stayed with me on the phone until it was working properly. So far seems like a good deal.

I bought this so that I could use it to make my dvr, bluray and a few other things work on my wifi without having to buy a doggle for each device . It works well once you set it up but be sure to really read the info with the product and make sure this and your main router on set for the same channel .

This range extender was perfect for our finished basement. Very easy install & set-up, great consistent performance, and a very competitive price make it a winner. A little more range would be nice, but it is fine for the price point.

    Descent Wireless Extender

This item is ok for the average home user, I would not recommend it for a home or small business. I have had to re-install the user interface twice now in three weeks. Setup is rather easy, however I found that you definitely need to be out of range of your primary wireless router when you set up. I also found it did not handle more than three user/ items very well. Just keep your connections simple and basic and you should be fine. Be sure to check different locations if possible for the best overall stable signal.

Best Wireless Bridge I have found

I have a Cisco Router and a Netgear Bridge, yeah, I'm a bit odd, but I had to use Netgear when the Cisco wireless bridge kept error-ing out, and I am glad I did. This Netgear Wireless Bridge is perfect, and above all, if IT WORKS! East to setup, use a laptop or desktop, turn off the wifi connection and go to the website (its on the back of the device) and enter the ID and Password and you are in and headed toward setup. So easy to setup and use. Perfect device!

We have a large house (5000 SF) and our internet company provided us with a wifi router designed for an apartment. We decided to try the inexpensive option first, this range extender. I saw from the reviews that people had some issues, but let me tell you, this was really, really easy. We followed the instructions, and set it up using our iPad (laptop was NOT required). It took only a few minutes, and now I can get a signal anywhere in the house (yes, stronger in some places than others, but there is not a single place where there isn't a signal). We've used it with no problem now for well over a month.

Have to say, i thought the setup for this was going to be more difficult but the guided webpage that is built in did it all. Had it going in minutes! and works like champ. For the price it's hard to beat.

We started losing connections to our router which is in a basement room when we were out on our back porch. Thought I'd try this extender. I had to experiment with several locations that were roughly half way between the router (also NetGear) and our various computer locations. Finally found a spot that was about 95 percent right on. We still experience occasional dropped signals but it has been mostly reliable lately. The most difficult problem is getting onto the mywifiext web page to go through the configuration routine. Seems that early morning works best but not always. Saving the config file helps. Also if there are no computers using the ext connection, the unit will seem to drop the connection. Pressing the connect button seems to solve the problem. I bought this locally thinking I might have to return it and almost did until I found the location that finally worked.

Not bad for its intended use

This product is ok. I think if you were to use only one it would be great. But I needed to extend a signal much further that just one device. I gave each device a separate IP address and put in about 6 at one location. I wanted to make one SSID be available all throughout a building where they had not run CAT5 cable. Well the problem is that you can't specify which access point each device will attempt to connect back to. So they may connect to each other and none going all the way back to the initial source wireless signal. So they then would not work at all. For a larger house needing just one additional unit would be fine but don't try to use several in one location, they get confused.

I have a Netgear WNDR3700 Dual Band Gigabit Router. The Netgear Range Extender linked right up with the WPS. Didn't have to set a new password or anything. Was able to connect without any problems, though you have to manually switch from Router to Extender. I am very satisfied and it works so much better than using my old Netgear N Router I set up as a repeater to extend my wireless range. The Repeater would only work in WEP on the 2.7 Ghz band and was a pain connecting when switching between the two. This range extender solved any connection problems.

    Even extends in tandem

Bought new HDTV from BB and was hoping to stream/use internet apps. Found my Linksys N wifi router was too far. Tried one Netgear RE midway between router and TV and got wifi signal but still too weak for streaming HD (trying to get VUDU HDX). Purchased a second NG RE, labeled the 1st wifi_ext, and 2nd wifi_ext2. Had the 1st RE pickup and extend the wifi router, and the second RE set to pick up the signal from the 1st RE. TV set to connect to wifi_2. Now I get 2-3 bars with VUDU HDX movies. I know using REs does consume some network resources, but I had tried one RE, then tried powerline extender which didn't work. Glad to finally have a solution (and I also have better wifi anywhere in my house.

This product does what it is supposed to do. I now have extended WiFi range. I connected my Internet ready av hardware to this (Blu Ray, TV) and they are seeing a marked improvement when it comes to streaming Netflix, YouTube, or simply searching the Web. It was slightly challenging to setup but I got it done. Once the setup was complete, it was a breeze to connect wireless apps to it.

I never write reviews but I wanted to for this product. I am very computer savvy but was having issues with my networking. I have a Cisco Linksys N Dual Band router and I have a 6 bedroom house. The router is in the first floor on the other side of the house. The upstairs living room is on the second floor on the opposite side of the house. I also have a desktop computer there. My laptop would constantly drop off and my desktop (while I fitted with a wireless card) would rarely get a signal. After the 1 minute setup (with no software to install), I had an immediate connection with full bars. I connected my latop, deskop, Wii, work laptop and PS3 all in the matter of 10 minutes.

This product works beautifully. I have 2 main floors and a basement. I also am running 2 desktops, 2 laptops, 1 xbox, 1 ps3, and an apple ipad. This netgear extender works with everything with excellent coverage throughout my house. I am running a cisco wireless access point and was unsure if the two would "talk". No problem they do. Setup was easy but you must follow the directions step by step. Be patient and take your time and you will be rewarded with a great home network with expanded coverage and terrific bandwidth for all your devices. Security setup is easy with many options as well but i recommend setting the security the same as your wireless router to avoid confusion.

Great Product, Set-Up A Little Confusing

I bought this product to be used as a wireless-N bridge(not as a extender) for my home theater. The directions for its use as a bridge are a little vague and confusing. To be used as a bridge you must first set it up through your computer. No where in the directions does it state that. Then bring it to your home theater and connect the devices to the wired ports(Unless you have a device in your home theater that can connect to the internet for set-up). After set-up it runs great(so far). I have mine running with the Netgear 3700 wireless router. I took this option to save money. Otherwise I would have had to buy 3 wireless USB adapters(for TV, DVR, Blue-ray).

In 10 minutes range extender was up and running even with my limited knowledge, extremely happy. However signal depreciates too quickly over short distance, considering its intended purpose, but overall, no regrets with this purchase.

I thought I needed another router. We moved into an older two story home. We had lived in a bigger two story home and our N router worked fine in our other home. In this house, as soon as I started up the stairs there was no wireless signal for my phone or Wii to watch Netflix. I talked to cable company and they told me I needed new router. I talked to ya'll and was told I needed an extender. I went to to the store to shop for a solution to my problem. The sales person knew exactly what my problem was and helped me choose the best extender for my needs. He even explained how the signal travels from the router and told me the best location for the extender. He told me it needed to be on the first floor under the location where I needed signal upstairs, for its best performance. He was polite and very helpful, something hard to find at some stores.
