We bought a computer for a downstairs location. My business computer and wifi are located in my upstairs office. The signal was very weak. So, we bought this product and put it near our staircase. The signal downstairs is very strong now. Problem solved. I thought the price was a bit high, but it does the job.

    Product Never Used

I gave this product an average rating in every category so as not to arbitrarily skew the rating in either direction because I did not use this product. I returned it to the store for a refund after I opened the box and read the installation and use instructions. The item was not what I needed for my problem. I wish the outside of the box were clearer on the intended use of this product. My home, due to size and wall materials, has some areas where my wireless reception is less than optimum. I wanted something to boost my wireless signal to better cover these areas. The intended use of the "Range Extender" is to cover areas beyond the range of the existing wireless signal, such as out into a large yard or to another out building. The instructions say that if the product is used within the range of the existing wireless, the wireless speed will be reduced because of the retransmission of the signal. In all fairness, I don't know if this would have solved my problem since I never hooked it up. The price of the product was high enough that I did not want to take the chance of paying for a product that didn't work or, even worst, reduced my existing speed. For those interested in this product it may be worth really reading all of the other reviews and talking to a store expert to understand what this product will and will not do for you.

I am beyond giddy about how this little baby web-enabled my home theatre system. It opened up all new functionality in my HDTV and audio system. For a bonus, I was also able to bring internet to a dead zone in my apt. This product is great for what it does... connects components to your WiFI and brings WiFi to dead zones. Setup was a bit clunky but I'm tech friendly not tech geeky.

I've suffered for quite a while with my wifi router (D'Link DIR 615) tucked back in my home office. Because of the layout of my home, I figured the signal had to pass through five walls and a double oven in order to reach my family room. I could get a signal, but very weak. I changed out to another router (Netgear), but still a weak signal and finally realized what I needed was a range extender. Long story short - I picked up the Netgear WN2000RPT on Friday, hooked it up on Saturday and it works fine. The signal is strong and now I can even get a signal in the opposite side of the house, which I never would have considered with just the single router. So far, I have nothing negative to say about it. The setup was easy (easier than I expected).

I had been debating on purchasing powerline adapters to network some home theater equipment with my Netgear WNR2000 wireless N router. After several days of research, I decided not to go that route because of reviews on-line said they usually performed well below the expected performance. Also thought about just hard wiring the house, but decided to continue down the lazier path. I bought this product to be used as a wireless-N bridge and not so much for the range extender, which is still nice, for my home theater (Blue-Ray and LED LCD) You can buy wireless adapters for these products, but at $80 a pop, that would be $160. So why not just spend $80 dollars and have a lot more versitility. I found the directions that came with it a little vague and confusing. I went to their website to obtain more information and was finally able to figure it out. I would consider myself a novice when it comes to stuff like this. Overall this has been a great product so far and have no complaints as of yet! If you're on the fence...I recommend to buy it!

I was having problem accessing my Wifi from a rear bedroom in my home. I purchased this and I no longer have any problems. My Wifi connectivity is stronger and faster throughout my home. If you are having problems connecting to your current Wifi because of distant or wall interference, this is what you need.. I highly recommend this product.. Also, easy to setup..

Very good wireless extender. Actually creates a separate network with your network name and a _EXT suffix. If your mobile products can switch between the two on the fly, it provides whole house coverage. Would be nice if it just extended the primary netowrk though. Great product at a really good price.

I bought this extender to increase the signal strength that my treadmill needed in order to stay connected to ifit.com which I use to download and do workouts in my treadmill. I only use it for that purpose. Ever since I got this my wireless connection from my treadmill does not drop.

I initially wanted to use this as a "wireless switch" to connect some existing hard-wired equipment to my wireless network without running cables. It does this perfectly. It also has the added feature of rebroadcasting the wireless signal as an extended network, increasing the wireless network range. Setup starts off easily enough over a dedicated "setup" wireless connection, but eventually the default SSID changes and you lose connection to it before completing setup. It is easy enough to find it again when plugged directly into it, but it should have a fixed IP address to make installation simpler, and to make it easier to return to the setup screens. I set up a static IP address and have had no more problems returning to setup. Other than that, it works flawlessly as a wireless switch and also as an extender. I plugged a Nettalk VOIP device into it and it works without a hitch, with reliable connections. I thoroughly recommend this to anyone who wants to connect up to 4 wired network devices to the network wirelessly, or as a network extender. This product exceeds expectations, if you can get around the initial setup glitches.

We are in a resort that has a wireless router in a building 250 feet away. My laptop was receiving an intermittent signal and couldn't hold a consistant connection. This unit became a must in our location, working well throughout our RV front to back.

I bought it - took it home - spent 10 minutes reading how to connect to my wireless - plugged it in - hit the buttons in order and it worked flawlessly. Fast and essentially a plug and play device.

After 10 tries to get the extender to connect to my router, I was unsucessful. It saw my router's SSID, but wouldn't connect during the WEP entry. The wizard would just freeze. I finally entered my SSID manually, rather than using the discovered name, and it connected. Seems to work ok for now.

I had trouble connecting my tivo to my wireless internet because my verizon jetpack has no usb or other wire ports so I was unable to connect to my dvr. By adding this web extender now I can use it like any router, wired or wireless.

Like a landrover, it's great until it breaks down. At least once a day it will stop transmitting wifi, we won't know unless we start having connection issues, then we have to get up check and reset and it is good to go again. The signal and range are excellent, if it weren't for the minor inconvenience of resetting what seems to be often I would have given it 5 stars.

This is an excellent product. This is basically an AP (wireless and wired). Setup is very easy and the range extention is great. This was setup on the other side of the house (about 75 to 100 ft) and the signal strength is great (150MBps).
