Great 3ds XL update
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought the New 3ds XL for my daughter as her Bday gift. Her first impression was that it is much more snappier and quicker in response from opening different games to applications on menu. She has not been able to use the new C-stick as she has no games that makes use of it at this moment. She likes it and so do I. So much that I might get one myself as a Fathers Day gift to myself : )

Best 3DS Yet, Dumb Name Though.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I can't get over how stupid the name of this system is, however the quality of the product you get is worth it. The 3D works brilliantly, it tracks your head movement and adjusts, basically eliminating headaches and sickness I would get from the original. Also works in the dark, you can see a little red light by the camera that tracks your head in the dark. The screens are beautiful as well, I put a whole body and screen protector on it all to keep it looking shiny new. Get it, now.

love it
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love my new nintendo 3ds XL. I carry it with me everywhere. I love that I can pull it out and play a game for a few minutes and then just put the system in sleep mode instead of having to turn it off. My last mobile game system was a nintendo ds (first generation). This is such a nicer system than my original. If you have a 3ds xl, there might not be such a noticeable improvement, but there was for me! You have to buy a charger, which is a bit annoying, but I am so happy with it.

Finally what the 3DS should've been from the start
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The new "Super-Stable 3D" screen with face tracking is fantastic. Not only do you not need to hold your head at just the right angle and distance from the screen anymore, it is also very clear without the weird, shadowy/moire effect you got with any slight movement on past 3DS's. Build quality is also very nice. The hinge is tighter so the screen wobbles less. The L Circle pad feels nicer; smoother and less stiff. (Some may find it too soft and swishy and prefer the stiffness/springiness of old.) I haven't had a chance to use the new shoulder buttons or C-stick with any games (except Monster Hunter 4 demo) yet, but the C-stick feels like the little joystick they used to have on some laptops and works well enough. The volume and 3D effect sliders are tighter which makes small adjustments easier, but quick on/off a little harder. The stylus is now stored in the front and is shorter than the old 3DS XL. It's just plastic and not metal/extendable like the original 3DS. The wireless on/off switch is gone and is now set within the Home Menu settings. Power button is tiny on the front, but you're supposed to leave it on standby for Streetpass/Spotpass anyway, right? Headphone jack is back in the center on the front (vs old 3DS XL). Game card slot on the front left is a little awkward, but no biggie. May be better than flipping your old 3DS around or hunting blindly to insert your game cards in the back. No charger is not a big deal. I already carry a multi USB charger for all my other devices so I just got a $2 USB charger cable from Amazon. Less bulk! If you can spare the cash and really want to play/enjoy your games in 3D (until your eyes or head hurt) or really want/need the C-stick, I'd upgrade. For me, the improved screen makes me glad I did. If you mostly don't use the 3D feature anyway (and there aren't many games that support the new buttons or c-stick afaik), you don't need to upgrade.

Nintendo - New 3DS XL - Red
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have the previous 3DS XL, and this one is clearly superior in every level. Significantly faster, awesome screen (no blurry images when using 3D), better wireless features etc. It's definitely worth buying if you're on the market for a 3DS.

The 3D is finally usable
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. What else is there to say other than this is what the original 3DS should have been. The 3D is relatively clear and stable, the build of the system is pretty solid, and the overall feel of navigating around the system is smooth. The system isn't perfect though. There is a little bit of 3D ghosting, which seems to be a permanent problem with every type of 3D screen I've ever used. Also, the the latch on the top screen isn't totally tight, so the thing jiggles a little bit (probably to prevent the hinges from cracking like older model 3DS and DS units). Finally, the system doesn't come with a power supply, which is a pretty obvious money grab on the part of Nintendo. Overall though, the New 3DS is a great system and a worthwhile upgrade if you've had your "old" 3DS for a few years.

Worth the upgrade!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had the original 3DS, the 3DS XL, and now the New 3DS XL. I feel ridiculous just saying that I bought 3 versions of a handheld that plays the same games. HOWEVER, this one is totally justifiable! The 3D ACTUALLY WORKS WELL ON THIS MODEL. The battery lasts longer than the previous models. AND it has a thumbstick (more like a nub) for camera control. The nub looks like it wouldn't work well at all but it totally catches you off guard with how precise the control is!

Great console, few niggles
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall, the N3DS XL is solid hardware and a very fun console worth buying if you want a New 3DS. It has just a few downsides I took a star off for. The face tracking parallax 3D is quite good and a huge improvement from the few times I tried 3DS, but it has a tendency to stutter/trip out if it can't recognize where your face is or you hold it too close. I have bad eyesight, so this is a downer. It's Wireless G, not Wireless N, meaning I can't set my router to N only for better range and signal. The zL and zR buttons are easier to hit than I expected, but still can be awkward to reach from a relaxed holding position, you have to shift the console a bit. It's just a little hefty/bulky, and some people would've preferred the standard N3DS which Ninty didn't release in the US.

Faster and 3d is much better then the older 3ds
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Faster load times and the 3d is much better than the older model. I do not have the problem of a blurry screen when playing Zelda game like I had with the older model. It was easy to transfer my account to the new 3ds. If this is the first 3ds you own you will need to buy a power cord for it. Also if you plan on changing the mini sd card ( only comes with a 4 gig card), you will need a set of small Phillips screwdrivers (#0). It is very easy to do. I am glad I purchased this.

So much better!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was given this as a gift; I already owned the 3DS XL so I couldn't justify buying it myself. However, I really love it and find excuses to play it WAY more often than my old one. The 3D is superb, and actually is enjoyable to use. The transitions are LIGHTNING-FAST, making me able to play Smash in two seconds instead of two minutes. Overall a phenomenal upgrade. It has a couple sharp edges where the back cover meets the body, but those will wear down over time I imagine.

Fantastic Update to the 3DS
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had the original 3DS XL for quite a while before I broke the screen at a baseball game. I really enjoyed it, but the 3D was always a bit picking and prone to blurring if you viewed it at the wrong angle (which was fairly unforgiving). This is an amazing update to the 3DS. Added capabilities for enhanced games is nice, but the adaptive 3D is amazing! I can tilt this at many angles and the system will track my eyes and adjust so that the 3D remains crisp. Nice!
