Customers value the improved 3D capabilities, larger screen size, and enhanced graphics of the New Galaxy Style New Nintendo 3DS XL. They also appreciate the system's ease of use and the functionality of the C-stick. However, some customers express disappointment over the lack of an included charger and find the price point to be relatively high. My son loves this device, especially because it has great graphics and is portable for trips, etc. It does not come with a charger, which is odd. Nintendo should rethink that and include a car charger as well (by the way, it is not a standard USB charger, which forces you to buy a Nintendo charger). We were able to get a charger and case at Best Buy for a little extra, which worked out great.

The newest nintendo 3ds is amazing the screens are bright and clear and the new stable 3d is so much better. The button placement is good and nothing is difficult to reach. All of the ports and such are much more convenient than ever before. The only thing is that it doesn't come with a charger but the old one works for it and if you don't already have one they don't cost much to get.

I have had a 3DS XL for about a year and a half and decided on a whim to buy the new 3DS XL. So far, it has been a great update! I always disabled the 3D effect with my old 3DS XL system; however, the 3D effect with the new system is so much better that I not only keep it on for new games, but I'm replaying old games with it enabled. I find the new C-stick pretty easy to use as well.

Unless you are a die hard Xenogears or Monster Hunter fan there is really no reason to buy this 3DS. Save yourself $50-$75 and pick up a 3DS XL and you will be very happy with it. I however am a big Monster Hunter fan and am loving the New 3DS. The addition of the c-stick makes playing a third person action game so much easier. The ZL and ZR buttons are also a nice addition, but they do feel a little small and are awkward to reach sometimes. The improved eye or head tracking for the 3D works a lot better and you no longer have to hold the system at just the perfect angle for the 3D to work. The two big negatives with the new 3DS are the lack of a power cable in the box. Which if you own a 3DS XL already not a big deal because it uses the same cable. If you don't though youre going to have to buy a $10-$15 cable to charge it with or you will very quickly have a $200 brick. The other is the change to microSD from SD and the placement of the memory card inside the system. The 4GB card that comes with the system is not a lot of storage and the while your 3DS wall charger works on the new one your bigger memory card you have for it doesn't. If you do upgrade the card you have to take the back of the system off (using a screwdriver) just to change it out. Overall the system is really only for diehard fans of a few games and those that just have to have the newest toys. But if you are one of those people you won't be sad you speant the money.

This product is amazing! I got it to replace my old 3DS, and I couldn't be happier. The 3D is really improved over the other versions, and the C-stick is very useful for the new games coming out this year. The only complaint I have is the lack of a physical wireless switch and the difficulty of accessing the MicroSD. If you want to get one 3DS in your lifetime, let it be this one!

I bought this as an upgrade for another gaming system I own. I haven't been able to play it much, but from what I can tell, it works very well. I love the additional controls that it has, making some games to play a little easier. However, right now, that's about the best of the gaming device. Unfortunately it only takes micro SD cards for additional memory storage, making your old Nintendo 3DS storage (if you bought a bigger card) unable to move over. Like it promises, it processes games a little faster, but overall, if you don't want to spend the money for this system, I think the Nintendo 3DS XL is just as good

This is my first 3DS that I ever bought. I tried one over a year ago and thought it was really cool, but using the 3D only worked in certain positions. Now I can't move my head crazy and expect for the 3D to work, but now I don't have to worry about my head movement too much. That is a huge improvement.

A Worthy Upgrade or Great Entry Console to 3DS

My first 3DS was the regular edition. I was actually really upset that Nintendo didn't release the regular New 3DS: I really wanted the faceplates and the colorful ABXY buttons. But, I decided to buy the bigger console. For the longest time, I have been focused on pixel density which is better on the smaller 3DS. However, I realized that with the 3DS's graphics the pixel density doesn't make much of a difference in terms of visual quality (in my opinion). The larger screen is definitely more comfortable to look at (especially when playing games like Smash Brothers), plus the bigger console is more comfortable to hold for me! The 3D Face Tracking feature is amazing! The improved processing power is noticeable and makes using the 3DS more comfortable; I remember growing frustrated when I tried using MiiVerse or loading software on my original 3DS. I don't use the Amiibo function, but it's there. Transferring my 3DS data from my old one to the New 3DS XL was really easy, just look up how to do it on their website. Aesthetically, the New 3DS is beautiful compared to the original 3DS XL and the original 3DS. It feels really solid in terms of quality. As for accessories, I would recommend buying the HORI screen protector, which is really to put on without bubbles (look up videos on how to apply it) and it doesn't compromise picture quality.

What was wrong with the previous version?

First off, this New Nintendo 3DS XL does NOT come with a charger. They are sold separately for about $12. The previous version did come with one so I am puzzled as to why this one doesn't. The 3D graphics are a little better. My son really wanted this one so he could play with the Amiibo figures we saw in store but at that time, there were only three games that supported that. Had I known all of this before I bought it, I would have gone with the previous version 3DS XL and saved some money.

The original 3ds xl is a great system. However it is now without faults. The "New" 3ds xl improves on the original in a lot of ways. the addition of the zl and zr buttons, the added c-stick and most importantly packing stronger hardware. This allows for faster web surfing, ability to play games that require the New 3ds such as Xenoblade, and overall faster start time.

If you've been holding off on buying a 3DS, this is the one to get. With the improvements to the 3D, more and better controls, better layout, and improved load times this is an improvement in every way over the original 3DS XL. That being said, owners of the 3DS XL might not get that much out of it unless you are going specifically for exclusives. Overall it's a solid system.

While the smaller version of the New 3DS will not be coming to North America anytime soon (if at all) the New 3DS XL is the best model that's come over yet in my opinion. I know some complain that it doesn't fit into pockets well, but I enjoy the bigger screens. The improved 3D effect is great. I hardly ever used the 3D on my older 3DS XL, but on this one I use it most of the time I play. The device tracks your face so you can move it around more without disrupting the "sweet spot" where the 3D effect works best. The new buttons also feel good and the "nub" is nicely responsive. Note: there is only one game so far (and it hasn't even been released yet) that absolutely needs to have this system to work. All other 3DS games will work on the older models, so don't feel like you HAVE to upgrade to this model to play future 3DS games. There are a few games that will take advantage of the extra buttons on this newer model though, like Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D. So, you know, if you can upgrade I think it's worth it. IMPORTANT: the cord to charge this device does not come in the box! It's unfortunate, but I guess Nintendo figured most people who would buy this model already had a power cord from an older model (they use the same kind). Anyway, if you don't have one, you can buy one at electronic stores or online.

This is the first 3DS I have ever purchased or even held. While I can't conpare it to the others, I can say that I am enjoying this system more than I could have imagined. The 3D is excellent. My eyes were watering for the first few minutes, trying to adjust, but since they have, it has been smooth sailing. The sound is also very crisp, clear, and loud! Would recommend.

More comfortable than the original 3DS and, IMO, designed better than the original XL, plus the extra shoulder buttons and inclusion of the C-nub and slight increase in power make this (or regular New 3DS) the definitive version of the 3DS to own. For those considering an upgrade, or first time buyers, it's worth spending the extra money on the better version, if only to future-proof in case more games are made that are "Only" for the *New* 3DS since they can't be played on older hardware. The only, fairly major problem is the lack of a charger. The weirdest and dumbest decision ever..
