Customers are saying

Customers value the improved 3D capabilities, larger screen size, and enhanced graphics of the New Galaxy Style New Nintendo 3DS XL. They also appreciate the system's ease of use and the functionality of the C-stick. However, some customers express disappointment over the lack of an included charger and find the price point to be relatively high. The SD card's accessibility is another area where some users have voiced concerns.

Although the graphics aren't the most impressive, the 3d effect is. Totally worth the money. I bought this specifically for Majora's Mask and am not disappointed.

Drastic improvement over original 3DS. The 3D feature alone is enough to sell this thing. This is what the original should have been. Only downside is no improvement on screen resolution, but I'm sure in 6 months they'll be introducing the successor to this model.

The 3DS plays much like the original DS, but has the added ability to project its designed games in 3D on the screen. Fortunately, there is a switch that allows you to toggle the strength of this (or turn it off), as it can be a bit wearing on the eyes. One note though...unlike some other systems, you will need to purchase a charging cable separately from the main system purchase itself.

I bought the new 3ds because I wanted to play ocarina of time and some of the new Zelda titles. I had no idea how much fun I'd find the thing. I thought I wouldn't turn 3d on very often, but they really have improved it. I almost always have it turned on.

This was an upgrade from a Dsi, and my daughter loves it. Upon opening the box, I was surprised to see it didn't come with a charging cable/connection. Ok, I didn't read the box which stated so, but I still think it's odd. Luckily, and to Nintendo's credit, the cable from her DSi fit perfectly. The lesson... read the fine print, and if this is your first purchase of a Nintendo DS of any kind, you need to buy a separate charger.

Nintendo just keeps improving on their handheld gaming unit. Size is really good and the 3D is excellent. It's kind of heavy for the size, but no big deal. I like this better than my PS Vita. Highly recommend this unit and also Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon.

Greatly improved/stabilized 3D viewing, and overall improved OS speed due to faster processor is worthwhile upgrade, but certainly not at all essential for playing all the great games in the current 3DS/2DS library, although that may change in the near future.

This is the 3rd generation of ds's we have bought. They keep getting better. The new 3ds has larger screen. I love being able to revisit old games I loved as a kid and share them with my kid (Mario &Zelda). When I can get them to stop playing pokemon.

So far I've really enjoyed using my 3DSXL, the screens are crisp and graphics are crystal clear, it's large and yet still comfortable to hold, and with minimal effort on my part it was connected to my home wi-fi. The only cons I have are with the charger and the "next-gen" aspect of this system. I understand from a certain point of view that if the charger is the same as your previous "system" then it may be redundant for someone who has that to purchase the 3DSXL with yet another charger bundled in the box. My problem is that in my opinion the 3DSXL doesn't qualify as a "new" system, it's an adapted system. It behaves the same as the original while being a larger handheld, a similar issue to what happened with the original DS. First the DSi came out and then the DSLite. Both of those, I believe, had the same power charging system as the 3DS, but since they weren't actually "New" I never bought one. My regular ol' first generation DS was fine...until I bought the 3DSXL and realized that since I wasn't obsessively upgrading my portable gaming to be on the bleeding edge that I had to make a second trip back to the store to purchase a charger that should have been bundled with the system in the first place. So...TL;DR is that the system operates perfectly and connects to wi-fi rather easily. But it doesn't qualify, in my opinion, as an upgrade worthy of making the original 3DS "obsolete", nor is the purchase of a previous version so omnipresent as to justify NOT bundling the charger with the system itself.

This system is the best thing I've purchased in a while! The game selection is great (Definitely pick up Smash Bros, & Zelda), the 3d is one of the best uses of the technology, & the controls for my hands well! You won't go wrong picking up this console!

I bought this to replace my ailing 3DS, the 3d on this one really works and I have used it more in the month that I had it then in the 4 years with the old one. The added shoulder buttons was a nice touch and the C stick too, makes Smash easier to playm

Excellent battery life, the thumb stick is a huge bonus, and the larger screen is amazing. The only negative is weight versus the ergonomic design, which is to say long periods of game play might make for sore hands. Do consider buying a 3rd party comfort grip case. Ah, one more thing, BUY A POWERADE CORD. One is not in the box.

Very good system. No issues at all. I had tried the original model years ago but didn't like the way 3D was done. The new unit keeps it in focus even when moving around. Much better now. Would recommend to anyone thinking of getting a portal gaming system.

My kids love the 3DS. The new XL version is so much better than its predecessors. The larger screen is a big hit with my kids and the case is much more sturdy than then previous versions. This device is absolutely vital for road trips and restaurants.

One of the better handheld gaming systems I have owned. The face tracking software really does improve the 3D capability a lot. Size may be a bit large for smaller hands, but the large screens and camera nub really do make this a better system.

The New 3DS XL is a great new device and a good upgrade to the 3DS. The added c-stick is great and the improved 3D is awesome. With the eye-tracking, I am actually able to play games in 3D without having to hold my 3DS perfectly still. It's wonderful.
