I've been wanting a portable device but have only known the DS for being a kids system. Very wrong my friend. I boght this for my girlfriend for Christmas and also got one in return. She got me Zelda and let me tell you it's amazing. I played it on the 64 and man does the DS kick it up a notch. I love that I can turn the 3D on and off, which was a turnoff for me at first because I had no idea you could use it without the 3D. The controls are nice and easy for my adult hands to grasp(I don't feel like a monster trying to grasp a tiny teacup.) If there's any turn off for me it would be the location of the power button. I hold the DS with my two pinkies supporting the bottom and every now and then my right pinky runs the power button and my game instantly shuts off in the middle of gameplay.

At the moment, there isnt a lot of games that utilize the N3DS new features like the C-Stick or amiibo functionality but if you plan on throwing your money at Nintendo over the next few 3DS game releases, definitely upgrade to the NEW 3DS

At first I didn't think it would be worth it to upgrade my old 3DS XL but I am so glad I did. This system is lighter and fits better in my hand. The added C stick makes a huge difference and the 3D is actually usable now. Would recommend.

Bought this for my grandson because his first one stopped working. His review of it is "Great!" He really wanted a blue one but they only had black at the time. Not sure why this system did not come with a charger. Even though it had a little pre charge on it, we were not at home when he opened it so this was most inconvenient when it stopped working (we had to find a store that had this charger-not easy) and an added cost. For $200 (or any cost for that matter) Nintendo should include a charger even if 'they think" customers already have one for other devices. After all, the customer paid for that device with that charger not thinking I'll use this charger for the next system. Over all it is a nice upgrade. The graphics are great and my grandson is happy he has a new one. He says he can't wait to turn seven so we will allow him to use the 3D effect.

My 8 year old has throughly enjoyed his new 3DS XL. He has played it almost constantly ... I have to pull him away. The graphics are clear and beautiful, the sound is clear and loud. It works seamlessly with our wireless internet.

Aesthetically I love the new system, the addition of the C stick works well especially with Majora's mask and resident evil revelations, the additional shoulder buttons will take getting used to and so far are not supported yet?.... I preferred the game slot on the top of the system versus the bottom and I don't like that you now have to remove the back of the handheld to change or remove the memory card. I like the black color of the system and the specially offered themed units, like Majora's mask. Nintendo has added to the software a much needed power save mode, and I noticed a big difference in battery life. So long story short no major differences, much needed additions to enhance and improve gameplay. The new Nintendo 3ds xl is a great way to start out with a handheld video game system or a decent upgrade

The C-stick works like it should, the added ZL and ZR buttons are comfortable to use, face-tracking 3D works like a DREAM, and the Amiibo support is very cool. Overall, everything has been improved and it's a worthy successor to the 3DS.

This is by far way better than the original 3ds. It's much better to play with the larger screen. The c stick makes turning to look super easy. The only downside is that you have to buy a charger but I knew that so not an issue.

I brought this for my son. He loves it! It is big, easy to see, the graphics are great! Larger screen! its 3D, so that is always fun!

I had to purchase this as soon as it goes live. The design is adorable. The color is very good. This is my second 3DS. I had the Pikachu 3DS XL. It looks great for my collection. The cons about it is that the charger port is now moved to the top where the cartridge slot used to be and the cartridge slot moved to the bottom left. I also bought a protection case separately but it's quite hard to press the power button with the case on. Also you have to unscrew the back cover to remove the SD card.

This system downloads and loads games faster than the 3ds. It also tracks my face so that I don't have to align my face perfectly with the screen for the 3d to work. The c-stick is responsive and easy to use.

I got the 3ds XL galaxy edition and it is just lovely. It is a little hard to do d a case for it because the buttons and power button and so on are all in different spots than the older 3ds. But it is worth it

good product. my very first nintendo. the screen is huge and 3d effect is great.

I got this for my brother over seas and he has been in cloud nine playing with it. The bigger size makes playing the 3d game easier and he likes the new button placement. Not sure how long the battery last but he seems happy with it

A must buy for any Nintendo fans or handheld fans. The overall 3D has improved to a point where it feels natural. The new button features as well as placement doesn't feel awkward at all and its nicely integrated in the game play.

Before this, my most recent handheld gaming system was a Nintendo DS Lite. So after buying this, I was pretty impressed with what it can do. The 3D works great, but always seems to give me a headache. The only thing that bothers me with Nintendo DS, is that it's only really good for Pokémon, Zelda, or Super Smash Bros. Pretty much any other game isn't even worth looking at.

Awesome color! Bigger look! Perfect for yourself or for a gift to someone. Screen is bright and nice. Don't care much for the 3D effect. But other than that it's awesome!

This is my first DS in years. I have the original and have waited until the New Nintendo 3DS XL came out to jump back in. And my goodness was the wait worth it. My first game purchase was Star Fox 64 3D because that was my favorite game on N64 and it is better now than it was back in 1997. Nintendo has really improved the 3D so it doesn't "break" if you don't keep the DS completely still. This is a great buy if you've been waiting to enter the 3DS market. One last thing, definitely upgrade the sd card if you want to download games from the eshop. Go to the Nintendo website and they will tell you which ones are approved for the DS. The biggest you can get is 32 gigs without having to use a computer to change some stuff around on the card to make it readable for your New Nintendo 3DS XL.

Bought a new nintendo 3ds because I hadn't had a portable console in a while and it was a great buy! It comes with lots of storage and plays games fantastically. It's fairly large, but that's exactly what I was looking for

I didn't think there would be much of an upgrade from the original 3ds xl but there is. The 3D is much better not to mention the exclusive tiltles that I'm sure are coming
