    Better than original 3DS XL

I feel this is an upgrade from the original 3DS XL for many reasons but the ones that stand out the most for me are because the system is faster which makes downloading games quick, the volume button is in a much better location, and the 3D is AWESOME! I never used it on the original one but on this new system, I use it all of the time because it's light years better. I have three negatives: 1 - Doing the system transfer from the original to the new one was a bit more complicated than I expected. Make sure to have a step by step how-to video playing while you do it. 2 - You have to take off the flimsy back panel in order to put in your larger size microSDHC and it's hard to get in the grooves to lift it off (I used my thumbnail instead of the end on the stylus) so be careful if you don't want to chip, scratch, or break it. I didn't have any issues but I took a lot of care doing it. 3 - I wish they would have released it in metallic blue here in North America. I hope they will and I will use the extra one as back up if one the hinges break at some point like it did on my blue original 3DS XL which is why I had to buy a replacement now instead of waiting for more colors to come out. Overall, two thumbs way up!

I owned the first 3DS (non-XL) and loved it, but the New 3DS XL is amazing with the inclusion of the extra shoulder buttons and the c-stick, which is more like a nub, but sensitive enough to be surprisingly functional and responsive. The 3D has never been better, since now I don't have to keep it in a "sweet spot" like before. Highly recommended!

I love the new Nintendo 3ds. The 3D on it is a big improvement from the old one. Now when you move your head the 3D adjusts to it. Before you had to keep your head still or it would mess up your view. The only reason I am giving this product 4 stars instead of 5 is that it does not come with a charger. Not everyone is going to upgrade from their old ds so it seems strange that they would not include the charger. That being said I don't regret my purchase. The charger can be bought for $10 or so which isn't really that much of an inconvenience.

I was hesitant to purchase the new 3ds xl since I had a limited edition Zelda of the old 3DS XL but one of the buttons was starting to cause me issues so I decided to go for it and I'm glad I did! The 3D effect is alot more stable and the C-stick that's now built in means have to track down a circle pad pro for the XL is no long a problem.

When I was at the store, I was looking for a new handheld to play while I was on break at work, so I decided to pick up a 3ds xl the only one in stock was the ambio compatible one, it is amazing and I love it, but.... the only downfall was I paid 200 plus dollars on a handheld that DIDN'T come with a CHARGER! So I had to drop another 20 on a cable... It went way over my budget I wanted to spend but in the end it is really decent and I love it.

The New 3ds is a great system and the 3D setup works beautifully. I have one complaint and that's the lack of a charger. That is an essential component this handheld should've come with. So if you are buying one be sure to buy a charger or have owned a DS system before.

BEST handheld I've purchased from Nintendo

The last handheld I bought from Nintendo was a Game Boy Advance SP. After that I believe they released the DS which I never got because I didn't like the fact of being forced to use the stylus to play games. That is not the case with this NEW Nintendo 3DS XL. Very happy to own one after all these years of not touching another handheld. A few personal opinion (CONS) I would like to add. The handheld has no shape to contour your hands. It's just flat so for long term play it starts to become a bit uncomfortable for my hands. Others might not have this problem as our hands are different in size from one another. Second CON is the spring that ejects the cartridge has gotten weak in mine after casual use within the first month of owning it. Mine doesn't want to eject the cartridges most times and gets stuck and I have to paw it out. When you're done playing do NOT leave the cartridge in. Just take it out so minimize damage to the spring. A design flaw? Some have had the same problem with the spring and others have not. So it's probably just the one I happened to buy that has the spring problem. Final note: 5 STAR rating =) and I would buy another =)

The ability to go online is great. The wireless DS connect is genius. The ability to share play games that friends don't have is great. The screen is definitely large enough and a beautiful thing. And although the 3D is nice and fun, the ability to turn it on and off when playing for long periods of time is also really convenient.

The New Nintendo 3ds XL is everything they advertise! I enjoy 3D movies and Gaming, glasses free 3D is finally enjoyable! Idk if its just me or all games look better more vibrant! This is the 3ds that should have been from the start, side note you can use a 64gb micro sd with these by doing a little research on Google probably even a 128gb!

I have been using my old 3DS XL for about 2 years, and although i like playing with the 3D on it was very difficult to sit still during some games. This problem does not exist with the New 3DS XL. The face tracking is very good and it is finally pleasant to play games in 3D. This New 3DS also is and feels much faster than its predecessor.

3D that finally works as promised, an analogue nub that is surprisingly effective, and much faster processor make this a big (if unnecessary) upgrade over its predecessor. However, there are some drawbacks to be had. The screen is still a grainy 240p, the switch back to glossy plastic makes it a fingerprint magnet, and the stylus and MicroSD card slot were repositioned for the worse. Also, history suggests that a next-gen successor could be arriving soon. Highly recommended for those who use their 3DS often. Everyone else can pass.

To be honest, I purchased this system for use with one game in particular. From this I can tell you enough about its success in some areas and faults in others There are three big selling points for this upgraded version of the 3ds, and all of them seem very well done. The face tracking 3d is done very well, although you have to still be a certain distance for it to work well. That said, once you start playing you will most likely fall into that range and only notice an occasional dip in the quality. The second upgrade is to the systems speed, and I do not have a comparison from the older model to help anyone out personally. I have seen a few videos online that showcase this from Nintendo themselves and from customers, so I recommend looking those up if you are interested.I'm fine with how quick it tends to load my game. The addition of two shoulder buttons and an analog nub rounds out the advantages this has over the older model. Having additional buttons always welcome and they seem well placed. The analog nub is not as comfortable as the analog stick on the left side but performs well and is easy to get used to. I have only two complaints about the system, one being that its square shape is not very comfortable to hold. The back is flat, and the system itself is thin so it is ergonomically unpleasant. There is an attachment you can buy that helps out but it is so far only in japan and also extremely popular and often sold out. The second complaint is the battery life is very short. If using all the bells and whistles-online, 3d, screen brightness that self adjusts or just a high level of brightness-you can expecta short playtime. With a powersaving mode, a lower brightness, 3d turned off and online disabled, I can get slightly over 5 hours out of it. Thats with turning it on and off as I do not play five hours in a row, it may last slightly longer in that case but by then I expect your hands to be cramped. Overall not a bad handheld with an easy setup and easy access to options that customize all that it has. If you want a 3ds I see no reason not to buy this new version, but I have no opinion for those who are upgrading as I must again state I have no previous expereince with the older model.

I bought this as a gift for my wife and she absolutely loves it. The screens are larger and clearer. The processer is faster than its predecessor. There are additional features that will allow it to work with the newer games. So all in all we are very pleased with the product. Price was about the same as the original 3DSXL.

This is like the last 3DS but with a brighter screen, better 3D, NFC, and a new C stick which is basically used for camera view control. The interchangeable faceplates is cool, too. It doesn't come with a charger, so you'll either need to use your old one that you probably already have, or get another one for $7.

They should have done something about the output resolution but the super stable 3d, the second analog, and the faster processor makes it worth it anyway. Hopefully they release more exclusive games that take advantage of the system's upgrades later on.

I bought the new 3DS XL as a gift for my boyfriend, and he cannot stop playing it! The 3D has been improved from previous iterations of the DS. A big perk though is that it runs 3DS games smoother than the original 3DS. Frame rates are more smooth, and the graphics are more crisp than on the older 3DS models.

It’s a decent system, but the price is too high for an outdated tech that only supports the older ‘n’ WiFi, no ‘ac’ WiFi. Plus one of the included neighborhood software for the mii characters is already not supported and does not let you even launch it. Can’t even delete the software it’s not letting me use cause it was discontinued. Should be sold at half the price, especially considering the Nintendo switch. Only exclusive redeeming feature is the 3d effect.

I needed a replacement for my ailing original Nintendo 3DS and I am very impressed with the new features. The super-stable 3D is fantastic and I am greatly enjoying the larger size as well as the greater control options thanks to the new buttons and inputs. The faster and smoother performance is appreciated as well.

Faster Processing, face-tracking 3D, and amiibo support. The c-stick lives a little to be desired, but the rest of the changes are great. I like that they moved the volume control and the cartridge slot. The SD card is a little harder to access, but I just threw in a 32 gig card so I don't have to worry about it.

The New 3ds XL is a fantastic system that takes everything great with the original and improves upon it. The new C-stick works great and the face tracking 3d looks gorgeous. Amiibo support, ZL and ZR buttons, and faster processing are all excellent additions. My only problem is that it DOES NOT include a charger.
