Spend more and buy the Switch
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The DS is a solid product on it's in, but the screen is not great quality, and unfortunately the ergonomics weren't great for me personally. I returned it and spent more money on the Switch, which I'm very happy with.

Not Recommended
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When the New 3DS XL was announced I was excited but I don't care about the 3D feature so I never bought hoping a 2DS would eventually be released. Years later the New 2DS XL has been released and boy am I disappointed. From the cheap feel, loose hinge, poorly placed speakers and the vibration from the speakers this is not a handheld I can recommend. The visual style looks awesome from the top screen to the outside cosmetics this is one amazing looking handheld. I cannot look past the cons of the handheld so I bought the New 3DS XL instead l, something I wish I did two years ago.

Issues with the Stylus holster
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been trying to get my hands on a 3DS for several months since 2016 and couldn't get one due to stock shortages or finances getting in the way. Soon as I heard this was being released, at a cheaper price without the 3D feature (tried it on those try-it-out sections of a store and the 3D hurt my eyes, so don't miss it), I pre-ordered it soon as they were available. There was a lot to take in as there was a lot of new things with both the hardware and software. My only issue, and this is why it's a 4 star, is that after a week or so the stylus holster no longer locks in the stylus properly, it slips out if I'm holding the 2DS XL at an angle or move it with too much momentum. It doesn't help that the holster is facing downward when you hold it completely vertical. I've tried turning the stylus in the holster for it to stay put, but eventually that worn out in a few days to a week. I don't know if it's me or the quality of the hardware's casing that's the problem, but it's gotten to the point I need to apply tape to make sure it doesn't slip out by chance and I lose it when I'm done using the handheld and I have to buy a new one; and I don't know at this time if there are stylus's that will fit into the 2DS XL if they're not the same size to the 3DS's stylus. While it's not a major problem, it is an inconvenience. I would be careful how you slip the stylus in and/or out the holster, just to be safe... and maybe have some tape that you can reuse over and over if it does become loose without having to get a fresh piece every time. I recommend this to anyone that has an old 3DS handheld that might break down at some point and you don't like using the 3D feature, or those who don't have one as this is cheaper. I highly recommend to anyone that has the stiff 2DS's (the ones that don't fold) to get this upgrade ASAP, it's worth it and easy to travel with in your pocket. Plus you're more likely to get a 2DS XL than the Switch at this time, given how crazy the hype is still going after all these months.

Good device for everyone
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall the 2DSxl is a good device. My only concern is how easy the screen is to move. The screen seems to wiggle around.

Fits well in pockets; low battery life
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Fits well in pockets; low battery life. Believe a 3ds is better although a 3ds is larger

No Games
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The DS/ GameBoy is great, there just aren't a lot of games. Very subjective, I'm just not a Nintendo person

Feels like cheap material and poor
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The first unit that I got, the upper screen was broken. Then I got it changed and 17 days later for no reason I never drop it or anything the upper screen was black just like that. Now I am stuck with a N2DSXL with no upper screen and sad. I am a really huge Nintendo fan but they just went to the garbage on this product. DON BUY IT.

I like it, a few flaws but overall it's great!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just upgraded from my original 3DS XL to the new 2DS XL. A little lighter, updated screens, and if you don't care about 3D it will save you some coin as well. The things that I am not crazy about are no more wifi switch - that is done through the menu. The speakers are no longer on the top screen - they are are located on the front of the base of the console and they are noticeably weaker and you can feel vibration from the bottom of the console with the volume cranked. Now I usually never turn the sound on when I play games so it doesn't really matter to me but for someone that does it could be a bit disappointing. The top screen looks great but is very glossy & reflective, defiantly need to get an anti-glare screen protector to fix this.

The best 3DS system to date
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this after my normal 2DS had a screen crack and so far I love it. The design looks very sleek compared to the other systems. The New 2DS XL feels nice in your hands and is light-weight and doesn't feel uncomfortable at all. This is a great upgrade because it has amiibo built in functionality, more control options, and can play New 3DS only games. I highly recommend buying this great handheld with a huge library.

Obsolete
