A good Wii U port

They also added Toadette as a playable character, as well as Nabbit, who I believe was previously only playable in the New Super Luigi U DLC, which is also included in this new version.

Average Mario Game

Many of us didn't buy and play a Wii U, so this is acceptable. As for the game, after playing Super Mario Odyssey it's hard to go back to the old "New Super Mario" style. It is fun, but feels too familiar at times.
