If you have the wii U version, there is not much difference. But nintendo did a great job remastering and adding a few new extras.

Back when this was released on the Wii U the name it earned was "how to start a fight with your significant other". Outside of that, pretty much the same game with minor updates for the Switch. Still a blast to play.

This is the same game that is available on the Wii-U, but with the additional of new characters. I love that they've added a character that is easy for younger kids to play (and is invincible, except for falls) - and has other characters for a variety of levels of experience. It makes it playable for the whole family, as a group.

This game has great graphics! Like all of the Super Mario games, this one is so much fun. You definitely need to add it to your collection. I can see this to be very appealing for a wide range of age groups. I am 26 years old and have purchased it as a gift for several of my friends that own the Nintendo Swittch Game Systems!
