Phone monitoring wont work
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have only had this system for 1 month. 2 cameras have gone bad ( 1 got water inside first time it sprinkled, the replacement they sent me had blurry night vision ) remote monitoring only works if I'm at home or less than 2 miles away.I live in a large city so cell phone coverage is not the problem. Tech support and customer service have been trying to help but no results. My recommendation is don't buy Night owl products!! Buy a system from a local security company and avoid all the hassle. That way you don't waste a lot of time live chatting or on the phone for an hour waiting for them to not be able to fix this system. Buy local! I have requested a refund, of course there has been no response from night owl sp.

Posted .Good morning. We apologize for the issues you are having with your security system. Remote monitoring is not solely dependent on the connection speed of the viewing device (cell phone, tablet, etc.), but also the network the system is connected to. The minimum upload/download speed of BOTH networks is 2.5 Mbps.

DO NT BUY THIS PRODUCT
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I MADE THE MISTAKE OF BUYING THIS PRODUCT FROM BEST BUY THINKING IT WOULD WORK FOR MORE THAN 15 DAYS BUT I WAS TERRIBLY WRONG.ON THE 15TH DAY THE HDD CRASHED AND THE PRODUCT STOPPED WORKING.BEST BUYS RETURN POLICY IS GOOD FOR 14 DAYS SO IM STUCK WITH THIS 350 DOLLAR PIECE OF JUNK.TRIED CONTACTING THE MANUFACTURER BUT HAD NO LUCK AFTER BEING PLACED ON HOLD FOR 45 MINS I GAVE UP AND EMAILED THEM.APPARENTLY THEY DON'T REPLACE THEIR PRODUCT BUT TRY TO FIX IT INSTEAD.IT IS A LONG AND COMPLICATED PROCESS FINALLY I GAVE UP AND ENDED UP BUYING A BETTER DVR ON EBAY THAT IS COMPATIBLE WITH THESE CAMERAS.DO NOT BUY ANY NIGHT OWL PRODUCTS PURE JUNK!!!!!!

Posted .Good Afternoon. I am very sorry to hear that you had a bad experience with Night Owl. You are correct, if one of our technicians determines your product needs to be sent in, it will either be repaired or replaced while it is under warranty. The HDD is merely one component of the DVR device and can easily be changed if found defective. As such, we require the DVR be sent it and fully tested by our in house team. Must have a Smart Phone to Setup
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Went to the D-Link site and found the setup instructions for the DCS-2630L. Tunneled through all the options till I got to my camera. Found that D-Link did not create any setup wizard software for this camera. Called D-Link and the rep confirmed that the only way one can set this camera up is via a smart phone. I guess I did not get the memo... all people are now expected to own smart phones? Not recommending this product due to a lack attention to detail in creating this product.

Our product can be connected to a TV or Monitor for live viewing and to view recordings and adjust your DVR settings. Night owl camera system
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.After purchasing, say about 3 months in the DVR system started to give me trouble I emailed, called n left voice messages for a night owl rep it's been over 3 weeks and still no response from anyone. I would not recommend this product at all and if you check google reviews hundreds of other ppl are complying of the same issues

Cameras are junk
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased two sets of the surveillance systems last year. Since then, I have had five cameras go out. Some just do not work and others became grainy. Customer service was no help and refuses to return emails.
