Great travel lens. Very sharp.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great travel lens. Zooms from landscape to wildlife before the animal or bird gets away. Not having to keep changing lenses along with the dust skirt helps to keep dust off the image sensor. Lightweight and small size adds no more noticeable weight and obstruction to an active lifestyle over the 18-105mm. Use care when focusing long. Lens hood and bag are NOT included in this sale although Best Buy conveniently includes their pictures in the item description to lead you into thinking they are. In fact, on return to the store I found that they do not even carry these items! This is my reason for the lower then perfect score on this lens.

Didn't perform as I was hoping for.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. On the positive side this lens focused very quick. Now for the negatives. Most of my pictures were not as sharp as with my 18-140mm, or my 55-300mm lenses. I was hoping I could have one lens to take the place of these two and while some pictures were sharp most of them just didn't look clear. After further testing I found that at 300mm compared to the 55-300mm it only gave a view of slightly over 200mm. I am glad I purchased at Best Buy because I was able to return without any problems.

Great all purpose lens
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The lens is great but does not come with a pouch or hood as shown in the website. It is very misleading.

The lense is ok
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The lense makes noise and also is little slow to focus....may be a good bet for a beginner but not a gr8 for avid photographer

Good Glass
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Compact size, full range zoom and good optics all in a nice package. A little more expensive than Tamron or Sigma, but Nikon glass has never let me down.

I am picky with pics so it didn't work for me
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am not a professional but I do appreciate good quality photos. This lens don't focus great and the colors are always weird in my opinion. I used to use the lens my camera came with and I was pretty satisfied with it until it needed a replacement. Thought this one was good because of the reviews and I decided to not give credit to the bad reviews and give it a chance. PLEASE READ THE BAD REVIEWS. I guess if you are not that picky it might be ok. But I personally like my iphone's pics better than these lens'.

Great lens!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The picture quality is great too. Other than the weight, this is a very nice lens. The images are very sharp images and good speed in daylight. The convenience of this lens worth the price.

exchanged
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was super excited about this purchase. I checked it out and thought I was good to go. I was asked to shoot a wedding and when I downloaded pics my heart dropped. 90%of my subjects have a blurry haze around them and focus was not good at all. I can't redo this moment and am having to try my best to fix each picture. And no this is not my first wedding either... i am soo upset to spend $700 on this lens. I took it back and best buy gave me no problems exchanging the lens. Went with the 18-140 and it's way better. But needless to say I would not recommend this lens
