Q: Will this lens work for baseball photography? as well does it work on a D3300?

A: The 18-300 is an excellent choice to capture distant subjects with your D3300. Keep in mind that the aperture on the lens is variable. That means - the numbers quoted on the lens f/3.5-6.3 mean the fastest aperture you can get, when you have your lens zoomed to 300mm is f/6.3. That will be fine when you are in brighter lighting conditions, such as daylight. However, when the light is dimmer, just boost your ISO up to freeze the action!

Q: Whats the difference between the two nikon 18-300mm lens models?

A: The f stops. Which controls depth of field on the camera.

Q: WHAT IS THE DEFERENT BETWEEN CPU LENSES & NON-CPU LENSES

A: CPU lenses have a built-in Central Processing Unit (CPU). When a CPU lens is attached to a DSLR camera, metal contacts on the lens are used to communicate lens information and provide power and instructions to the lens from the camera. Non-CPU NIKKOR lenses refer to the early generations of NIKKOR lenses which were developed for Nikon film cameras, at that time photographers were manually controlling all the functions of the lens and camera to acquire optimal exposure and picture composition. Non-CPU lenses do not have contacts to communicate data to the camera to perform focusing and perform other calculations. Modern NIKKOR lenses, like this AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-300mm f/3.5-6.3G ED VR Lens, are CPU lenses.

Q: I'm looking for a lens to take wildlife photos with a wide angle and zoom, I'm not ready to spend over $1,000. would this be a good lens for wildlife

A: Yes, at $699 it is an extremely efficient and powerful zoom lens with great autofocus. Not big, not bulky it will serve all your needs. Can't go wrong. HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!

Q: Will this work with my Z7 + adapter?

A: Yes. The AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-300mm f/3.5-6.3G ED VR Telephoto Zoom Lens will work on the Nikon Z7 Mirrorless Camera. Please be aware that this lens is optimized for DX Crop Sensor Cameras, because the Z7 is a FX Full Frame camera, the camera will automatically swap to the DX Crop mode in the Image Area setting.

Q: Does this lens work with a Nikon 3100? I have a 55-200 lens now, but am trying to get further distance for baseball games.

A: Yes it good lens for just about everything Of course a lens that extends to 400mm would be much better. Especially when you take in the 1.5 magnifaction

Q: Is this lens compatible with the Nikon D-850?

A: Yes. the Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-300mm f/3.5-6.3G ED VR Telephoto Zoom lens is completely compatible with the Nikon D850 FX-format DSLR camera, however, because it is a DX-format lens you will experience a 1.5 crop in images when using it with the D850, which has an FX-format sensor. The AF-S 18-300mm is a versatile, lightweight lens that is ideal for wide-angle landscapes and group photos, beautiful bokeh portraits and extreme close-ups. It's an all-in-one, must-have lens for any growing camera bag.
