    This lens takes great portraits that are super sharp with a blurred background when set at 1.8. My wife complains that she can't zoom in with it, but the quality of pictures is far above the kit lens for my D3100. I'm very pleased with it overall and it suits our needs for a portrait lens to take pics of the kids.

    Good lens. But wish I would've know it was a manual lens. It doesn't auto focus and I have to adjust the focus before every shot which is frustrating. Good if you're shooting still objects.
