I used this lens with two different cameras and it does wonders. The aperture is great for portraits as it blurs the background and makes the subject pop up.

I was amazed at how good this lens is. Great all around lens for DX cameras. Also a good lens to keep on the camera at all times just in case a good shot comes up.

Love the 50 mm on a DX Nikon body! It gets you fairly close, without actually having to get to close! I just love the images this lens makes. They just catch my eye...

Overall I am very happy with this lens. For the price, you can't beat it. The low f-stop is great for low light and depth of field control. The only draw back with this lens compared to my 18-55mm kit lens it that you can't use it for macro-type photography. I'm not sure the exact specs, but it can not focus at close distances. I'm sure this is just a feature of a 35mm lens in general, however.
