Excellent lens for any scenario. I love using it for sports photography and low light settings.

Fantastic lens from Nikon. I got this to take pictures at my son's hockey games. This lens is fantastic, highly effective in low light and fast. I use it with a Nikon D800. It is a bit bulky and you should use it with a monopod or tripod to avoid the lens shake.

Although heavy, it's totally worth the investment.

As expected from this lens amazing, top of the line. It's quick to focus, sharp, and built like a tank. With lenses, you get what you pay for and this is a pricey lens. But well worth the coin.

I am by no means a professional photographer but I wanted to be able to take great shots of indoor sport events. I've been to a few games already and I love the pictures I am now able to take. Great lens. A little heavy, but that's expected.

Really enjoy using this lens. It is versatile and gets that perfect shot.

This is my favorite Lens. It is a bit heavy because it is a quality lens. I would suggest spending the most you can afford for a lens. A great lens will last for years. Nikon has perfected this one.

I knew I wanted this lens for several years, it is after all 1/3 of the Nikon Holy Trinity (14-24 f2.8, 24-70 f2.8, 70-200 f2.8). And for good reason. The ability to pull sharp images in poor lighting is amazing. Indoor shoots are far more flexible now that I can stop motion without raising ISO to a point the image is unpleasing. The compress-ability of the images adds in a whole new look to my photos as well. It's expensive but worth the money. This will be a lens that will used for many years to come. Now to get the other 2/3's of the trinity.

I bought this for my son for Christmas and he tells me that he is really enjoying using it. He is a film major graduating this year and has already used it to do video work and earn some extra cash. It is the same lens used in the communications department at his school where he works part time.

The pictures from this lens are stunning. I use it with a Nikon D600. The only "con" that I could say is the weight of the lens but it is because of the high quality glass within the lens so it is worth the weight.

I recently started shooting indoor action shots and needed a lens that would perform under low light conditions. This lens is great. It is able to to shoot in low light conditions with a high shutter speed which allows me to capture action shots. It's a hefty lens and you need a tripod or monopod that is capable of handing the extra weight.

Great fast lens for portraits and events. Amazing sharpness and low light abilities!! Pricy but if you can afford it totally worth it.

Love the lense sharpness easy to operate a bit heavy but over all awesome the experience in the store was second to none.

No other lens in the length produces images like this. If you want 2.8 lens and have the money you will never go wrong with this lens.

I had wanted this lens for quite some time and now that I have it, it does not disappoint. Noticeably faster and smoother than the VRi which it replaced. I couldn't be happier with it's performance, accurate focus, quick and quiet. A great lens.

This Nikon lenses is amazing! The telephoto feature allows you to zoom in for crystal clear pictures-no graininess even when you crop. I use this lens to take action shots on the soccer field and baseball field. I take daytime and nighttime shots-these pictures are extremely clear. I had an off brand before that doesn't come close to the quality of the Nikon. Well worth the price if you want amazing, clear pictures.

This made a world of difference when I paired it with the Nikon D750. Enough zoom to get up close and wide enough to get scene pictures. Just a bit heavy for carrying around on a camera all day - you may get sore arms the following day - but the quality of pics are well worth it

Amazing lens! Fast focusing and very sharp. I own 2 prime lenses, an 85 and a 50 1.8. I like the versality of this zoom lens. I won't into any details of the specifics of this lens as the other reviews pretty much covered it all. This is a great event and potraiture lens!
