I bought this to supplement my 3DS. It's physically more difficult to pocket, so makes a better system for gaming in bed or lounging in a chair. Screen size compares to the regular 3DS. Battery life is good, much better than a 3DS (with 3D effects turned on). Would not recommend using it for on-the-go gaming unless you regularly carry a bag to keep it in. For the price, a great purchase.

its a great price, I like that it does not fold, no broken hinges anymore... and you can play both the ds and 3ds games,,,

I think the 2 ds is perfect for my 5 year old. He loves it and won't leave home without it. Very easy to use and the fact that there's no 3d is great as well as all the ds games work with this system!

I purchased the 2DS for my husband because he preferred to NOT have the 3D feature and he has loved it so far. He uses it often and likes the way it fits comfortably in his hands. It came at a great price too!

Great gaming device that also lets me communicate with others easily. It does have a number of extra features that I don't imagine I will ever use, but obviously to others, those are a plus. Between a DS and a 3DS, this is the perfect middle ground!

Bought my 2ds primarily for Pokemon X and Legend of Zelda. Absolutely love the 2ds its cheaper then the 3ds and can do all the same things other than the 3d display effect which I'm no so thrill about. Great device over all but when watching Hulu or Netflix on it the definition could use quite the boost. Other than that games look great on it

The new Nintendo 2DS is a great value. We already had a 3DS but realized that the majority of the time 3D is turned off and totally unnecessary. This has a nice flat design that feels good in your hands and with no hinge to break.

Kids love it..... what else can I ask for... as soon as we opened it the plugged in and started playing, buying 2 more for my other 2 sons they love the Pokemon X & Y too

Perfect mobile gaming device for a young child. If not playing games he's watching videos of other kids playing. All the important features of 3DS without the fragility.

I bought this console for my 3 year old son I was very concerned if this game would last without the screen to be broken until New Years but it came out to be the perfect one it is so easy to handle so easy to storage and the best thing is that all nintendo games can be played in there which can save you money because you don't have to buy the most expensive game you can get the old games and a still played them in this device

The Nintendo 2DS is primarily a gaming system, without the high powered graphics of consoles and the PS Vita. There's a certain charm to playing Pokémon and Nintendo exclusives that is simply timeless. The lack of 3D capability, sturdier build, and better durability, combined with the lower price point, makes it a wonderful entry level system in the Nintendo World.

Bought for my seven year old and she loves it. Easy to hold and use and uses all the old games easily.

I enjoy the lightness of the unit. The touchscreen is just right for responsiveness. I'm disappointed that I have to buy an external speaker to share my music with others.

I can't play first person games or 3d games because they make me sick. This system takes the 3D away. I know you can turn it off on 3DS but why pay extra if you don't use it?

Grandson 6 y/o was using the old style Ds from his cousin when he got the 3d, he couldn't exchange games, but now he can, We met some other kids in the airport that had Ds and they sat together and switched games. He could try newer games for him, even if it was 3D, w/o me having to buy them and him not like. It helped our layover tremendously and new friends made

Looking for a great way to jump into the fun of 3DS? This is how! There's no 3D, but that isn't that big of a deal. I traded in my 3DS for this. I much prefer the form factor and size of this one.

The reason I say it's great for adults is because it doesn't close. The screen can and will get scratched while using the stylus. That's the reason I don't use mine; even with a screen protector. It has an awful battery. I upgraded from a DS Liter which gave me 6 hours of battery life to this which (if I'm lucky) 3 hours after a full charge.

Nice size. You can play the old DS games plus the 3DS games on the system.

Bought this style for my 8 year old. Gets to enjoy all the good 3ds games and I don't have to worry about the 3D effecting his eyes.

I bought this for our nine year old daughter as a gaming system but also to use as a kid friendly camera that I wouldn't have to worry about. It works very well on both fronts. It's well built and does not appear flimsy or to have obvious weak points like the older hinged models do. I love the Nerf Armonr cases, though, and was sad to see that the case industry hasn't yet caught up with this unit. Only carrying cases and skins are available at this point.
