My 2 boys love the DS 2. Has a great battery life and they can play against each other in the same room or against their cousin across town

This is a great gift idea and I highly recommend BC Mario Kart is already loaded on! Well worth the money! Plus it's compatible w/ 3DS games as well.

I purchased this for my daughter who is 8 years old. She loves it and it is more than half the price of 3DS. It works well with all games in a 2D mode.

He LOVES it and knows what he's doing!! It was a little frustrating having to download Mario Cart. It "comes with" Mario, but requires internet connection to get it started up. Since my brother doesn't use wifi household internet, just having cellular for his family's phones, we had to set up a mobile hotspot to get it downloaded to the device. The 2DS is rugged, comfortable, clear, full color and the sounds are very clear. It was a great price and the Geek Squad warranty and staff are phenomenal! Greatest purchase I've made for a long time.

It's a Nintendo. So, that speaks for itself. Very sturdy handheld for my 4 year old. Great graphics, easy to use, and inexpensive.

I have purchased 5 of these for myself and grand kids. The 2DS obviously doesn't play in 3D but for us that's no problem. One grandson gets a headache from the 3D consoles anyway. The 3DS games play with no problem on the 2DS plus you can play all the older DS games. The units are a bit slippery from the hard plastic so I would recommend going online and ordering one of the silicone skin covers. It will give some protection and lets you keep a good grip on the console. My grandsons dropped their consoles a few times because they slipped out of their hands. The silicone skin covers really help. Nintendo has several other handheld consoles but for the money, the basic 2DS console is just fine. I've heard it called the "doorstop" because of it's shape. The others are "clamshell" because they close up but they cost more.

If you don't mind the lack of 3D feature during gameplay and the C-stick button on the new 3DS, this is a great system to 3DS games for under $100.

Great for toddler who is a beginner at playing games

Gave this to my 5 year old son for Christmas. He loves it, easy to hold/control, and connects to the internet. Big plus was the included charger.

I got three of these for my three boys (6, 5, and 3) and they just love them. Simple for them to use and they can even play some of the games together on three separate devices. Now, how to get them outside...wait, they can take them outside and play.

Great price. My grandson's 3DS was broken so I purchased him the 2DS. This is great because it will take all his game cartridges he already owns.
