The 3D mode gave my son a headache. Fortunately, that can be turned off so it can be used in headache-free 2D mode. Doesn't need to hook up to a television, so it's very portable and can be played on the go.

I was interested in buying a 3DS once they announced the new 2DS; but after looking at all of my options and the prices, I decided the 3DS-L was the right pick for me. It's only a little more expensive than the regular model, but it's just big enough that it makes all the difference. About the 3D option: I keep it at the absolute lowest setting (before clicking into OFF), this doesn't bother my eyes and it still gives an entertaining 3D effect. Buy this, maybe we'll streetpass someday.

Bought this for my 7yr old daughter and I play it as much as she does. I like the large screen. Also I can put parental controls on certain things like chatting with friends or getting on the Internet. I only gave it 4 stars because I do not like the 3d effects. It is very hard on the eyes. Luckily I put the parental code on that too so she plays it in 2d mode which is perfect.

It is an excellent console. the kids will love it. plus there are a multitude of games available. is cheap compared to other consoles and you can take anywhere. I highly recommend it for your children.

Got this for my grandson and he can't put it down. He enjoys it and that is what counts for me and when he's asleep I get tp play with it. it was a good price when I got it and it is a great product.

I want to stress that the battery life on this console has increased dramatically compared to the original 3DS. The screen size is obviously bigger which makes games even better. Easy controls, grip, simple setup. The internet browser is slow, but c'mon people would rather use their smartphone, tablet, or laptop for that use. I love playing Pokemon on this, it is truly a great console.

My daughter loves playing her 3DS. It is a great console and she cannot go anywhere without it. She used her DSi XL for the past two years. 3DS XL has been a much welcomed upgrade courtesy of Santa.

I bought this for our 5 year old for his birthday. He loves and so do we. Its great you can play both ds and 3ds games on it. You can also set the 3d off for younger kids. Great battery live also.

We bought this for my 5 yr old son who just graduated from kinder. He always loved "pretending" to play Mario brothers so we knew he would love his DS. We got the extra large one so he could watch movies on it too. My son is in love with this system! The system and the games are fairly easy to learn. He also loves that he could use his netflix on it. He will stay in his room watching movies, even though he's got a 40' tv in his room already! We are very happy with this purchase.

Great screen and 3d simulation. Screen is much bigger with better sound.

This is an excellent product for gamers with larger hands. The 3DS is awesome and the XL just makes it even better. The ability to switch between 2D and 3D is great as well. Excellent pictures.

I bought this game system for my 11 year old for Christmas and he loves it! He rarely puts it down and as a result I'm able to use my iPad more because he's not using it! Happy son! Happy Mom!

The Nintendo 3D DS is a great gift and the graphics are great, its not tiny like the older DS, its easy to carry, great for long trips and the battery life seems to last a good amount of time. I would tell all my friends about the Nintendo 3D DS.

Everything that I was hoping it was going to be. Having to have your head positioned perfectly is a little strange to begin with to get the 3d working but after a while it becomes automatic.

I got the 3DS because my co-worker was wanting someone to play against with download play. We hae had a blast with Mario cart and Fire Fox 64. Now I have something to play with with my nephews.

got this for my son for Christmas, he absolutely loves it! works great, easy to use, and records wonderfully. I don't know a lot more detailed info, as my son uses it....i'm just the ATM.

Saw the color and was not impressed. Wanted this in a funky green or yellow. Gave it to my son and he didnt even notice the color he noticed the big screen. Old school black still rules.

I love the features it has. My son is obsessed with taking photos on our trips and know he can do that and play his games at the same time.

The 3DS XL is nothing more than a larger 3DS. It plays 3DS games, DS games, and has the same library of downloadable content as the original 3DS. The battery life is improved, but still is shorter than would be nice, around 8 hours with the 3D off, less with it on. It is definitely the superior model. Also worth mentioning is the Circle Pad Pro is not compatible with the 3DS XL. Nintendo has recently released a compatible version through their online shop.

I'm a big gamer and own many systems but I held out buying the original 3DS. The 3D sweet spot seemed small, the battery life seemed low, the ergonomics were not great and the game selection was not enticing. But now that the 3DS XL is out, it solves all of those problems while the library of games has grown to include great titles like Super Mario 3D Land and Luigi's Mansion 2. it's a great time to buy a 3DS XL and this blue unit is really attractive.
