Was wanting to start playing pokemon again and needed a new ds.

I'm no expert but this console doesn't vary much apart from the 3D feature and I was really upset that it doesn't include a charging cable.

It's a solid looking New 3DS XL. It's not as fancy as special editions but it also won't become outdated and the design always stays fresh.

The 3DS XL games for hours and has excellent graphics.

I've been a long time fan of this system and it has disappointed. I have my previous model to my niece after having a baby and not really being able to play as much. I had a few games I wanted to finish and purchased the latest model. I still need to get used to the new placement of the buttons and this version doesn't have a sd card slot.

like everything about the new 3DS, deducting a star because it doesn't come with a power cord, which is lame. Other than that, I have no compaints

Having grown up with a Game Boy since its initial release, my standards were set pretty high. I have been removed from the mobile gaming scene for over a decade and was not impressed with previous iterations of the DS enough to purchase one. Once The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time was restocked in physical form-brought back from the abyss of discontinuation-I knew I had to eventually pull the trigger and buy one. The user interface is rather simplistic; this is especially great for children or for adults who are not regular gamers. (Myself owning a PS4 and Xbox One I found it more aesthetically simplistic than I would have liked.) The system runs smoothly, and while the 3D settings take some time to enjoy at their max setting, then can easily be adjusted to a comfortable level on the side panel. The graphics are crisp and there is no lag in between frames. Ergonomically, the layout is comfortable and even with a formidable screen size, the device is not daunting or excessively large. I do not like that I had to purchase a charger because Nintendo did not deem it necessary to include one as there were "many consumers who already owned a DS and probably had a charger." What about us that did not own a previous version and did not have a charger (like myself???) Not smart Nintendo, this was a bad business practice. I have NEVER had to buy a charger separately for ANY electronic device that did not require batteries; it was ALWAYS included. Also, the removal of the SD card is a pain; it should be seamless-not a calculated production requiring a screwdriver. Overall, great system and I would certainly recommend. However, the few minor miscues by Nintendo restrict me from giving it a perfect score.
