A solid improvement on the original 3DS XL
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As an owner of the original 3DS XL, I am extremely pleased with the improvements made to the "New" 3DS XL. The head-tracking 3D feature greatly improves upon the 3D features of the original, causing less eye strain while playing. The feature also allows the user to move his/her head without having to reorient the screen. A major complaint of mine from the prior 3DS XL was the placement of the volume and wireless controls. It was easy to bump both of these switches while playing games, switching wireless off or turning the volume on at inopportune times. The New 3DS XL also feels a bit faster and does boast slightly improved graphics over the original, though I haven't seen major improvements yet. One issue Nintendo has not addressed is the wireless connection. Though they claim to have improved it, Nintendo stuck with an older 802.11G system. This has caused major slowdown on my wireless network which uses the newer 802.11N standard because all devices on an 11N network can only operate at the speed of the slowest device. Finally, my biggest complaint is that the New 3DS XL does not come with a power adapter. While this is not a big issue for owners of the previous 3DS XL, first time 3DS buyers will have to spend extra money on a charger. Despite its shortcomings, the New 3DS XL is well worth the money.

Great update to the original 3DS
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is overall a great update to the 3ds. First thing is that the 3d is actually good on the system. It tracks your head and eyes so the 3d stays focus. Which is great because the regular 3ds would lose focus often so I would never use. The new addition of the C-stick is a great ideal too. It works great for Super Smash bros. and Monster Hunter Ultimate 4. It works great for any game that has camera control in it. The New 3DS also has a stronger processor in it which was needed. The system just operates faster and smoother. The screen is better and clearer. Games also run a little bit better. So all in all this is a much needed update to the 3DS and I recommend this to another that wants a 3DS or wants to upgrade to the New 3DS.

The New Nintendo 3DS XL is an amazing experience.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had my original 3DS for about four years now. So I finally decided to upgrade to the New 3DS XL. Just $200.00 is very much worth it for all that I've gotten out of it. The C-Stick is awesome and definitely very different from a regular control stick, the ZL and ZR buttons are way easier to reach than I had thought, the face tracking 3D works surprisingly well, and you can't forget about the massively improved CPU. I don't have Xenoblade for it yet, I'm still waiting to see if Nintendo is going to make many other exclusives for the New 3DS. All in all, the New 3DS XL has blown me away!! It was easily worth upgrading to.

Nintendo in your pocket
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I haven't had a handheld Nintendo console since the Game Boy but a friend talked me into picking this up and I'm glad I did. The 3-D is cool but is usually too much for me so I dialed it down to the lowest setting (it can also be turned off). The only games I've purchased are Mario Kart 7 and the new Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer and I might try to keep it at that for a while but I like being able to play in my backyard, while traveling, or even on lunch breaks at work. Just a note: This does NOT come with a power cord. Nintendo assumes most people have one from a previous DS product.

Finally 3D how it should be!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Despite this modest upgrade from the previous 3DS XL version, the new features are outstanding. C-stick works great and extra power & speed are noticeable. However the biggest improvement would have to be the Super-Stable 3D feature. It is so much better than the original that it is worth the upgrade alone. With much better viewing angles, the 3D effect doesn't blur with every slight tilt like the older version did . Even people who where glasses can finally enjoy it as well. Highly recommend the upgrade!

This is an excellent system
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am really enjoying the New 3DS! The new stable 3D feature is awesome. It makes the 3D experience much more enjoyable over the previous 3DS. The loading times for games is also noticeably faster. The new C-Stick is very nice so far. Very limited in use for now, but I'm sure that will change once more games come out! The only complaint I have is with the Y and X Button's, you can barely see them on the red console. Definitely a system to pick up, though.

not worth it
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am very disappointed, I bought this for my son who is 8 years old and it completely stopped working within 15 days of purchased, the screen is black on top and bottom you can only hear is on. The screen is not broken, there are no scratches, it just stopped working. VERY POOR QUALITY!!!

This one goes to 11...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If I were to summarize the New 3DS XL, it would involve me telling you everything the original 3DS XL can do, except better. Nintendo has perfected the 3D effect and the c-stick works very naturally. I know many people were disappointed Nintendo didn't launch a regular sized New 3DS, and also upset by the stupid name, but the N3DSXL is a great system if you can set those small problems aside.

Where is the charger?
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.$199. Christmas gift for a 7 year old. Only to find out the power adapter is "sold separetely" and no one is open on Christmas day. And no one has an adapter in stock for the next week. So one star for basically purchasing a $199 table decoration. And for one disappointed kid on Christmas day and the following week.

love it
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love all the upgrades with the system. I bought the charger for it because I've read hundreds of reviews not having one , so that's no big deal for me. The 3d effect is now very fun to use and I never turn it off. The little c stick is a not stiff but you get used to it quite quickly. The fact that it has NFC now means I'll be able to use my amiibo figures in my smash brothers game .

NO POWER SUPPLY!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.for $200 - should have a power supply! I cannot believe that Nintendo includes the power supply in the lower priced 2DS XL, but not with the 3DS XL that costs more!

===ATTENTION: Remember to buy a charger!===
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Hi folks! Best Buy employee here. Please be aware that this unit ships WITHOUT an A/C adapter (which you need to charge it!). If you already own a 3DS / 2DS, you're good to go. However, first-time buyers will need to purchase a charger separately. For your convenience, here is a link! A Great New Iteration With Sizable Improvements
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The DS line is generally viewed as one of the best (if not THE best) hand-held console out there, and the New 3DS XL is no exception. It is easily the best in the DS line (as it should be) and at $200, it's a great deal considering the previous 3DS XL was the same price. The most notable changes to the system are its internals as well as the revamped 3D functionality, although general build quality is also better. The New 3DS XL definitely runs a lot faster than its predecessors and is more powerful, paving the way for bigger, better games in the future. The 3D feature, the staple of the 3DS, now has a face tracking feature to offer more stability in the 3D images. In the older systems, the 3D was only usable at a very limited viewing angle, so the face tracking makes it so that the 3D is usable! All in all, it's a great addition to the family. Nintendo, well done.

Evolutionary Not Revolutionary
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The added nub control stick is nice for the games that support it, but falls short of being a practical second analog stick. Purchase this for a step-up (faster processor, better 3D angle viewing, added control inputs for games that support them) from the original 3DSXL.
