Shady
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. How does Nintendo not include a charger for a electronic device. $200 and you don't include a $5 charger. And Best Buy conveniently doesn't include in description that charger isn't included. What a joke!!!!!!

EXCELLENT, MY FIRST 3DS
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been waiting for this as soon as it was announce. I bought a charger for a good price so that didnt worry me about the 3DS not coming with one. After several hours on playing on it, I can say that I have no regrets buying it. If you want to upgrade to a 3DS i believe that this is the one for you or if you have never owned one, now is the time. The C-Stick is not a "true" analog stick because it is stiff and almost stationary. This isn't a bad thing because its really easy to get used to. I would recommend trying the c-stick for yourself at a Best Buy. The c-stick is a perfect addition. Don't knock it until you try it, and besides this has faster processing, and for any handheld that is a huge bonus.

AMAZING
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had the original 3ds, the 3ds xl and I bought this one in march. I can confidently say this one is the best. My friend hás a 2ds, but I dom`t like the size of that. I have the feeling this should have been the original console. Faster, 3d actually works all the time and it hás a better grip. If you`re on the fence, just jump it now! I recommend this and I have 25 years of playing videogames to back me up. The ps4 and the new 3ds are the best gaming machines right now. The ammount of games is really good and you can play all the old DS games. Just remember to buy a bigger memory card nano and ask for the guys at best buy to change it for your. Ps.: the transfer of content for 3ds owners is bad, but not terrible. Be patient. The really terrible thing is to open the system. I advise to ask to a best buy employ or a nintendo representative.

Awesome metallic red color, event on inside!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Picked this up for a friend. He loves that it's a metallic red carbon fiber appearance on the outside, and even red on the inside. He's a Monster Hunter player, so the C-Stick is a standout feature for him. Also, the extra boost in battery by 30-60 minutes longer, pending system settings). Just waiting on the Hori case to release for the system next month, and hopefully it will be an in-store pickup available item, and not just shipping available. The Amiibo feature(firmware update required) works great, and can't wait to see it implemented into more games in more intuitive ways. Great purchase.

Great handheld
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not only is it great, it has a lot of great games and support compared what the Vita has. Vita is slowly dying while the N3DS is just killing it man. I had a Vita but I feel a 3DS is just way better. The classic Sega games you buy digitally especially playing on 3D is amazing. Games like Fire Emblem is great, a fantastic RPG on the 3DS. Never was a big fan of Nintendo and probably never will be but this device besides the Nintendo games alone, are great. Fighting games on it is good too. 3D on this is a huge improvement over the original 3DS. Amazing, worth every 200 dollars.

Great platform, charger sold separately
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was excited to check out the new 3D technology. So far, it's living up to my expectations. The thing that just annoys me so much that led to just three stars is that the power adapter is sold separately...that's just the most asinine thing ever. It's not Best Buy's fault, it's questionable business practices on Nintendo's part. It would be helpful if Best Buy made that detail much more prominent, now I must make another trip to the store. I'm tempted to return it on principle, but I already opened one of the games I bought.

New 3DS Features -Basic Review
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my review for the New 3DS (red). I am going to jump right in and only focus on features that I feel need to be talked about. Please enjoy! The mini joystick reminds me of old 90's IBM Laptops. It's a bit annoying to use if you want to use the "a" button/s as well. I wish it was a bit larger. I honestly think it is fine and works well. But for all the hype it got, I was expecting something a bit more...luxurious? I find that the system is faster than the 3DS. However, it's not perfect. The store is a bit faster, but not as fast as it should be. Same goes with loading the home screen from the settings page. Again, it's better, but not perfect. The 3D setting is actually useable now! I even find myself liking it! I don’t get dizzy, don’t get a headache, and don’t get annoyed. The 3D in the New 3DS is what they promised it would be for the original 3DS. The buttons have moved around and I LOVE IT. I am an adult, but my hands aren't large. Still, I would find myself accidentally turning on the volume to full blast, and once or twice I popped out the game card. No more! The New 3DS takes note of these issues and solves them. They even added some extra triggers. The only thing I didn't like is they got rid of the network on/off button; you now have to access it from your Home Settings. The battery. Wow. I never used to leave the wifi on my 3DS because it would drain it. However with this system, I have downloaded games, never turned wifi off, and yet have only charged it a few times. Huge improvement here. The color is metallic red on the outside. Gorgeous! It's shiny and lovely. When I saw it online, it looked auburn; a gross burnt red. But thankfully, it is not. I do, however, wish I had more colors to choose from other than black or red. Throw in white, or at least a blue, Nintendo! The transfer process is HORRIBLE. If you are replacing a 3DS (as I was) because it was broken and won't turn on....good luck to you. I've called customer service 4 times now, and will have to call them again. My save files for my digital downloads are GONE. This is absolutely horrible and Nintendo needs to fix ASAP. I will call them again tonight. Overall, I like my New 3DS. I don't regret replacing my broken 3DS with the New 3DS, even though it was more expensive. The buttons are awesome, the 3D is actually usable, and the battery is impressive. My overall opinion is if you have a working 3DS, don’t upgrade unless the battery and 3D setting are VERY important to you. But if you’re looking to replace your 3DS or get into the 3DS-World, get the New 3DS, hands down.

It's a great upgrade, but not necessary
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For first-time 3DS buyers, this is the system to get. It's very snappy and has some great improvements over the original. If you already have a 3DS, it's not really worth the upgrade. It's a bit quicker, but there's very little software that requires this version of the handheld to run. Unless you're a hardcore fan, really want a better 3D feature (and it is better), or need to play Xenoblade, it's not necessarily worth buying a new system entirely. However, I am very happy with it and would recommend it to anyone who does not already have a 3DS system.

Excellent Updated version of the 3DS
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As an owner of the original DSi XL (I much prefer the larger screen size), I was highly interested in upgrading to the 3DS but like many users was honestly "disappointed" by the limitations of how the 3D mode was executed (requiring precise head positioning for the the 3D effect to be maintained). The addition of "head tracking" on the new 3DS XL is a long overdue solution to the 3D problem. I've had my new 3DS XL since product launch and am very pleased with how the new system handles 3D. Also, a wonderful bonus is the ability to access the Internet and Youtube where there is now a wealth of "3D video" content that really shows off the 3D capabilities of the unit! The larger screen size of the XL is much better overall for longer gameplay sessions (I don't get eyestrain as easily), and like my previous DSiXL the unit is built solid with good quality materials. Nintendo's decision to NOT include an AC Adapter will be disappointing to potential buyers who do not previously own a DS (for me fortunately, I just used the AC adapter from my old DSi XL). Despite that shortcoming, this is still a wonderful upgrade for anyone who owns a previous Nintendo DS and is highly recommended!

Some nice new features, not sold on the upgrade
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I own two of the original 3DS XL consoles, but I have never been able to use the 3D feature comfortably. I was anxious to see if Nintendo's 3D improvements meant that I'd finally be able to play my games in 3D. Unfortunately, while I do see an improvement, it still doesn't work for me. I had to take my glasses off during calibration in order to complete the calibration, and the end result is still too disorienting. But, I'm sure this is due to my vision correction, and not the 3DS technology. I'll just continue to play my games in 2D mode. One of the first things I had to do was turn the auto-brightness off. I like to maintain a constant brightness, and the screen continuously adjusting brightness was distracting during game play. I'm glad that I purchased Majora's Mask with my new 3DS XL, because it does take advantage of the new c-stick. None of the other games I currently own make use of the c-stick. I like that the game slot is now moved to the front, and I also noticed a slight improvement in game loading speed. But, the shiny metallic cover is immediately covered with fingerprints, and I am unhappy that you need tools to access the SD card. If you don't already own a 3DS, I would say this would be the one to buy. Otherwise, stick with the old 3DS until the next generation.

A great system for both upgrade and newcomers!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is undoubtedly the best version of the 3DS (save for color choice). The system still fits perfectly in your pocket despite the larger screens. The C-stick is surprisingly responsive. And the best part: the new face-tracking 3D means you almost never get the distorted screen when using the 3D effect.

Buyers Beware-no power cord included
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this for my 12 yr old grandson for Xmas. It did NOT come with a power adapter. All 14 people in my house were shocked, amazed and a couple just as ticked off as me. Who sells electronic equipment without a power cord??! I'm old but wow. Seems the old "batteries not included" should now say "power cord sold separately"? In Best Buy the day after Christmas-another grandparent in the same section also purchasing a power cord not included. Way to ruin a 12 yrs old Christmas morning Nintendo!
