Bought for our son as an upgrade. He loves it! Size and 3d effects are great!

The New 3ds XL has a improved processor which loads games such as Smash Bros. Faster. It has built in amiibo reader.

This has been an amazing product so far that's been flawless. I haven't had any issues with it and battery life has lasted over 8 hours when tests say around 5.75 hours. (With half volume and 3D off) I would recommend this to anyone even those with the last 3DS XL model as the AR (augmented reality) is super cool and fun to play with! Virtual reality is just around the corner!

Bought this as a gift for my step-son. Great system and easy to set up. Good selection of games.

Just picked up my new 3DS XL. It’s my first DS of any kind, so I can’t compare it to past models. I can immediately tell I will probably never use the 3D feature, but it’s cool to have. I would have gone with the 2DS, but I didn’t like the color options. I got the Galaxy 3DS! I’ve only played a little but it’s so much fun. I was surprised and disappointed to find out an A/C adapter is not included. Guess I should have read up a little more on it, but I figured a portable game console would have come with it, like every other piece of tech! Can’t believe it’s sold separately! Would have given 5 stars if it came with a charger.

Supports new games with larger ROM capacities: not many yet but more will be coming now that the new pair of shoulder buttons and the right thumb analog stick gives the New 3DS the same controller scheme as a Wii U controller. Should see more ports of games to both Wii U and 3DS (like Smash Bros) now that the play control is identical and the New 3DS has a much more powerful processor than original 3DS.

The New 3DS is one of the biggest mid-lifecycle upgrades Nintendo has ever done. For starters, let's talk about the obvious— see that little nub up there, just above the face buttons on the right-hand side? That's a second analog stick, dubbed the c-stick a la Gamecube. The idea is this stick will help players better navigate games like Monster Hunter 4, which all but demand its use.

Great thing to use on a train/plane and make the trip feel shorter.

Bought this system as a Christmas gift for my nephew. Apparently, I didn't do enough research before I bought it because my nephew opened up the present and couldn't wait to play..BUT, the system didn't come with a charger. Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine a system would be sold without a charger. But I take the blame since I should've done my research. Overall the game is nice and after a trip to Walmart for a charger, all was well.

We bought this for our 8 year old son for his birthday. Imagine or shock when we open the package on his birthday only to discover that this device is unusable because Nintendo didn't include the REQUIRED A/C adapter in the box. They actually make you purchase it separately! This is extremely poor marketing on their part. I would return it but my son really wanted this, so here we are, on the 4th of July with a device that our son CANNOT USE! On top of that, this "new" 3ds xl is apparently larger than the old one, so the case we bought with this is also unusable. Talk about ruining a kids birthday, Nintendo. I'll never buy another Nintendo product again. On top of that, a best buy employee helped my wife pick out the device, accessories, and such. She specifically asked if she need anything else and was told "no, that's all you need",so obviously best buy employees are also unaware that there is no power supply with this, or that the "new" version is larger than the old one. This purchase was a huge disappointment.

If you already own a 3DS and have no plans to purchase any future games that require the new system, then you may not want to purchase it just yet. I personally found this to be a great upgrade. The new C stick helps, though it is tiny. The biggest thing was the quality and speed of games. Loading time has cut down and gameplay is much smoother, such as for Monster Hunter. It's a very noticeably difference. Only complaint is the annoyance of putting in/taking out the microSD card and the new 3D face following feature isn't all that great.

I have been using the 3DS since launch, and this is definitely the best purchase I have made. The system is noticeably faster, Using the amiibos is excellent, and I love the new 3D camera.

Used to be an original 3DS XL owner and due to the 3D not working well, I always played with it off, making the whole 3D experience pointless. After hearing about the face-tracking, I decided to give it a chance and exactly as described, the 3D works much better. Definitely worth the upgrade!

About a week ago I purchased a Nintendo 2ds mostly because it was on the cheaper side. I ended up returning it because the screen was a little small for my liking and ended up purchasing the new 3ds xl instead. It was definitely a good decision!!!! I loooove it so far. I love the larger screen. The 3D still bothers me (I used to have the original 3ds xl), but it's definitely better than it was. I also don't know how I feel about the stylus being at the bottom. I still find myself trying to put it in on the side! Most of the cons I have about it are personal preference. Overall I think it's awesome. I would definitely repurchase! 10/10!

This looks amazing, I really like the design on it. I am pretty excited to get this as an upgrade for my nintendo 3ds xl. I will also be getting pokemon sun with it. If you like pokemon and have a older 3ds this is worth the upgrade.

turning 8 years old getting handheld electronics that dont over do it, Nintendo is always a classic gaming system with great performance and choice of games depending on age. i still jump on from time to time to play some mario. i would recommend this model over the 2d

I've been using an original 3DS xl for over a year and I can already tell the New, improved 3DS xl is superior. I played Kirby Robobot Planet and Super Mario 3D Land right away, with the 3D effect on full. Nice speakers, nice screen, fun device that is backwards compatible with DS titles. I love the Galaxy design, too. Note: it doesn't come with a power cord but it can be charged with a 2DS or 3DS xl charger you may already have. Also, BestBuy's online service is great. Small but sturdy box and I received mine two days early!

I upgraded from a DS Lite, yes I'm old school. Lol. The New 3DS XL is great. The 3D is really good. I love the galaxy design.
