This is our first Nintendo DS and we are happy we got one for my 7 year son. It has great resolution and sounds. Plus it has a lot of extra features especially the camera that we like playing with our faces. The only thing that we don’t use is the 3D effect. It make’s us dizzy when turning it on. But overall, it’s a great handy game and fun.

Overall the system is great, but there are a few problems. 1st it doesn't come with a charger. Really??? What system doesn't come with its own power supply? 2nd, with the power button on the outside of the unit, it can be turned on and off with the kid closed. This is a horrible design flaw and I'm hoping will be fixed with a software update. I had mine in my pocket and was waking around all day only to find that I didn't get any coins or street pass data because it had been turned off.

This item is well worth the money with setting to enable or disable 3D.

My son is definitely loving it. It's nice that you can play the non 3d games as well so he can still use his old games.

I bought this toy for my ten year old son and he hasn't put it down since.

I've bought the old 3ds and the 3ds factor was not as nice as in the new 3ds add to the fact this is 3ds xl with a bigger screen and you still have a ton of great games it's heaven for any kid and also for adults no complaints here

Bought myself a 3ds xl and my nephews 2ds' for Christmas. We love playing them together and I like that we can bond over this. The 3ds xl is great and graphics have been amazing so far. Easy to set up and provides hours of fun!

At first I thought the 3dwas just a gimmick and even started out with the 2ds but the more I thought about it wanted to check out 3D. So glad I did although I really liked the 2ds the 3ds has a sturdier feel and over all better options. The 3D can be quirky at times most likely do to low light conditions but if it starts giving problems you have the ability to turn it off. One critique the game cartridge has no cover where it is inserted and could cause possible issues but that is very mild, Nintendo corrected it on the 2ds so it must have been brought up to them enough to warrant a change in design. Otherwise enjoy being able to download classic game boy games and play them with good graphics.
