I was held back on so many ds handheld since i was young and never had the opportunity to own any previous generation DS. I was skeptical on getting the new 2DS xl (without the 3D feature) until i saw this one on sale for 25 bucks off, so im sold on this and lo, i fell in love with it, it felt right in my hands (not large, average) i was so hooked on playing pokemon (moon) and supermario bros 2. plus i have yet to play other great games like zelda, xenoblade, monster hunter, and so on. If you have a previous generation 3Ds without the extra button, you might stick to what you have. If you are in a budget and spend less than 200 bucks, the 2Ds Xl is a great option (again, without the 3d feature). Its sad that this does not come with a wall charger, but other than that, i love my new 3ds Xl

Its an amazing 3DS and after reading that the new 3Ds's being made have a better prossing speed in it i did some research and its accurate! so eventually everyone in my house hold will need to get one of the new ones. only bad thing is that the creators decided to not include a charger.

My 10 year old daughter wanted this to replace her regular DS. She loves the 3d portion of this one. All of her old games still work (2d or course). She plays it all the time.

3d graphics are way better and love the extra controls. Only dislike is that the micro sd card slot requires unscrewing the back panel. However that's a one time nuisance so it's not that big of a deal. Already owned a 3ds xl console so I didn't need to buy a new charger since this didn't come with one. I ordered the Hori case protector that's clear so the graphite black can show through. I actually like it's not a true black because it gives a better shine as a dark grey black.

this is my 3rd 3ds and this is by far the best. original 3ds, new nintendo 3ds ll, and now this one, great screen size, and im loving the galaxy theme on this new 3ds

I bought this specifically for when I travel by plane. Between access to a very large library, slight technical improvements with the 3D head tracking tech, and a great battery life, I could not be happier with the purchase.

I bought this for my daughter after her previous 3DS XL broke and she loves it!, this 3DS is better and seems to be faster and more intuitive, the color is pretty cool too.

We purchased this item and a few Mario games for my son for Christmas. He LOVES it! It has great grafics, is made well, and the charge holds well. The ONLY disappointment so far was the item not coming with a charger. That was a big disappointment on Christmas morning. Chargers are sold separately.

It would have gotten 5 stars if the charger had been included and I would not have had to purchase it separately

Great portable game system. But, for the price to NOT include a power cord, highly disappointing.

The hardware upgrade is well made. The only problem is the proximity of the D-Pad to the bottom edge of the device. If you have large hands this may be a problem and you will end up using the thumbpad even for games not specifically made for it. Other than that, this is a great buy.

Everything about this new model is better than it's predecessor. The 3d display is 99% percent better with the eye-tracking sensor. It looses you you though from too far of a distance, and you get a triple effect with the 3d bar all the way up. All in all still worth upgrading to this model

Simply put, the New 3DS XL is how the original 3DS should have been designed upon release. The built-in Circle Pad Pro is perfect for camera control in certain games (MH4U, for example), and the additional shoulder buttons allow for greater customization of games that can utilize them.

Battery life is good, incremental improvements from older version. It tracks your face better to improve the 3d effect but that is something i personally turn off and don't find appealing. It still has a small size for holding, I find my hands get cramped and fall asleep from this. The graphics are always a little disappointing considering similar sized devices. Being designed for kids, and teens It is what it is and there are plenty of enjoyable games for this handheld.

I haven't had a Nintendo product in such a long time, and I finally picked this up. I can't believe how amazing this is. It's really nice looking, it came with no issues straight out of the box, easy to get start. Also, I put Pokemon in and it started with no problems. Game looks amazing.

I like the system itself. 3D is amazing. One thing I didn't catch onto is the fact that Nintendo doesn't supply you with a way to charge your device.... How stupid is that? Ultimately I wish someone would have mentioned that at the register or something instead of having to go out again and get one.

i can't believe Nintendo sells stuff wo chargers tho. My son loves his DS but mommy had to spend more money.

Bought this for my son and i don't think he has put it down. He had the earlier version but not the XL. Loves this device, especially for Super Smash. Got it out of the box and found a pixel on the screen was already out. Returned it same day and they replaced the unit no problem.

Great graphics in either 3D or 2D. Plenty of game selections available.

As an owner of both a 2DS and a 3DS I knew what to expect, and what I might not like. One of those things being the lack of power cord, but fortunately the old cords do fit. Keep this in mind if you buy a 3DS for the first time. The next improvement is obviously the screen size and the ability to use Amiibo's with the XL Overall it's a larger version of the 3DS, and it plays like it, bigger screen, internal 4gb micro memory card (already installed) the good news it's easily removed so you can use a computer to copy things From your other system should you not want to rely on the Wifi transfer.
