Kids really like it and worked perfect as Christmas gift

It's a 3DS. If you know what it is, you know why you want it.

It is the Same Nintendo 3DS, but it has a much BIGGER SCREEN.

My Son plays with it more than he did with his Nintendo DSi

Got this just to play Luigi Ghost Mansion... A real treat.

Overall, son has big hands and is happy with the 3ds XL.

It's a great hand held system - I really enjoy using it.

The 3-D is a great feature and the pricing is fare.

My 8 years old son, are very glad with his new game.

so far the kids just love it. they cannot put it down.

The Nintendo 3DS is a nice hand-held gaming and learning system for younger children. My 10 year old was able to beginning using it with confidence right out of the box. However, it did not come with good games and the cost of the unit is nearly as much as a full size gaming console. I bought the unit to fulfill a specific need which it has done. However if I had been presented with a better choice for my 10 year old's learning and therapy I would have by-passed the purchase.

What can I say; this has to be the best Nintendo DS family purchases I've made since my first DSi. Right out of the box, everything came well packaged and organized and a free 90-day extended warrenty from Nintendo (I've ran into a situation where I couldn't get a free repair by Nintendo because I was 1 day ahead of my old warrenty on DSi, so this saves me lol). The setup of the system is pretty straight-forward. It will ask you to setup the time, date, users, parental controls, wireless, etc. They fixed the issue with connection setup when you setup wireless connections with default settings (I was relived). Haven't run into any problems with the system. Make sure you adjust the brightness setting if you want the extended battery life time. I use setting 3, but it's all a perference thing. Also, the 3D switch has a "click" if you want to completely turn it off; so it needs a little force compared to the other. The battery life of the system is about average for a regular user. I played Ocarina Of Time 3D for 6 hours on brightness setting 3 with wireless off and didn't get the Low battery message until 50 minutes later. You can get the most out of the 3DS battery on your first charge; do enjoy it because it really did last for me yesterday at the time of this review. Make sure you turn off wireless when playing games that don't need online. However, if you want Streetpass and other functions to work, you have to leave it on or just turn it back on at the end of your game session (or during the game session). This 3DS XL has hinge clicks as well, that feel more secure when you adjust the screen angle to your liking. The buttons for "Start", "Home" and "Select" are much more easier to press and input the action for. I HIGHLY recommend you buy this game with your new 3DS XL: The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D Believe me, you will LOVE this combination when you first use the 3DS. The screen quality is just amazing and clearer compared to the old 3DS model. This game is highly considered and was one of the best games of all time back in the day. The volume level of this system is on the low side. If you are using headphones, this will be no problem for you. The price tag is average, but, just the screen size you get... plus the features of the 3DS and add-on content for future games... makes it worth it :). The 3DS XL is compatible with all your old DS games too! Even the new Pokemon Black/White 2. 3DS XL is a system you should get if you are new to the Nintendo DS family or are upgrading from the DSi or DS Lite. The 3DS system in the future will unlikely have a second Thumbstick, because they would have to change the layout of the controls for the whole system (because it wouldn't make sense and be hard to control). So, it's safe to invest into a 3DS because it is also Nintendo's most selling DS system. That, and they will just make new, first-party games for it like Super Mario Bros. 2, Super Smash Bros., and Luigi's Mansion. Worth the buy!

I bought the 3ds xl for my 5 year old. The 3d screen is more blurry then 3d amd the bottom screen is pointless.

I haven't used it myself but kids love it. Still going.
