I have had every model of gameboy since I was a kid. If you told me that the gameboy would evolve into this awesome handheld when I was young I would never have believed it. Nintendo steps it up with every new incarnation of the gameboy and this unit is by far the best. In today's world smaller isn't better. The graphics are awesome on the bigger screen and the sound is great. The only thing that I would like to see is a port to play my old gameboy games.

Purchased this for my son's 12th birthday. He loves it, compared to his previous Nintendo DS. The larger screen looks great, and the added camera is pretty cool. He's been running around taking pictures and recording short videos. Great gift!

If you are shopping for a handheld game console, I recommend the 3DS XL. Games look much better on the bigger screen than on the regular size 3DS. And if you are a gamer, you need to have a 3DS. So many great games are available, many new in 2013! It's so much better playing on a console with buttons. I was getting so sick of smartphone games, playing only with a touchscreen, and all those yucky microtransactions. I'm much happier playing my 3DS XL now.

I love the all black 3DS XL. As an adult with a full time job I find myself playing games at home or on weekends so I really have no issues with portability. I can see how if you're on the go, the bulk might be a turn off. I bought it primarily to play the pokemon x and y, and I want to enjoy the next gen pokemon adventure in the largest screen possible. The screen is easy on the eyes and the casing is way better than that glassy coating on the normal 3DS

Bought this for Christmas and the entire family has enjoyed it! Wife and I put old school games on it and the kids enjoy quality fun. Not the best graphics, but something for all ages.

This si a great Nintendo system, with the big screen and 3D capability. The sound system needs to be improved.

I bought this so that I could keep my kids busy and out of my hair. Their faces stay glued to the 3DS and the wife and I can go out on the town without them even knowing we were gone!

Purchased this system for my son's 7th birthday and he loves it! Cant get enough of all the new features added to the "New" 3DS XL and hasn't picked up the iPad since he has had it

The best handheld console on the market. It's big and allows you to play great games in good graphics.

Great double screens very good 3D. Pictures and good battery life. Great for travelling kids. And with the ability to connect, it's ideal for a big family that plays together

I like the big screen it makes the 3D much better to look at.

This gift made my 12 year old granddaughter's Christmas. She loves to play against her uncles and brags how she can beat them. Loved the blue color since she has outgrown the pink.

The Nintendo DS XL is great and has a big screen that I love.

my 9 year old got this for his birthday he loves it, the Nintendo club no longer exists so the codes it comes with are useless.

My 11 year old son had a DS lite for 2 years before this purchase. He played the lite, but he seems to enjoy this much more. He enjoys the cameras, access to wifi, the nintendo store, and add-ons to his games, and he is enjoying the much larger screen. The unit really is not that much bigger with the much larger screens which was a pleasant surprise as well. It is not the most advanced device, but my son loves Pokemon and this is the only way to go.

I bought this as an upgrade to my 3DSxl. It is not too different but adds the 3D top screen. There may be some other built-in functions too, but I haven't explored them yet. The large screen is great. The sound quality is good (I always think they can put better speakers in these devices - iPad sound should be the industry standard). Only complaint is that I constantly have to adjust the volume because I hit it when using the bumpers. I also pop out my game card quite often when picking up the unit. They should design a lock on the slot so I don't kick myself out of my game! I hope you found these comments helpful!

This is the greatest handheld system ever! I love playing on it and I spend hours after work using it. It can also search the internet! I love meeting new people by spotpass and all the new games are excellent. I don't use the 3-D very much but I love having the option to turn it on or off!

Great game for on the go, easy to store (in your pocket) 3D is awesome, & 2 screen feature is great.

My son loves it. Easy to operate. He has not put it down!
