Bought this for my son's birthday
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Oh Nintendo you really make me want one of these now. What an awesome product. Brilliant portable gaming system. The controls are superb and the game selection is just mind blowing. I have two kids and now my daughter wants her own Switch Light. I may have to buy her one for Christmas this year as they are constantly fighting over it. They both LOVE IT! I may have to buy me one too, I try to get them to go to bed early so I can play with it sometimes. LOL!!!

Great overall system
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The switch gives you great games and flexibility with it's portability, but the system does come with some faults. It comes with very little memory, 32 gb, which will run out very quickly if you prefer to purchase games digitally. In my opinion this almost requires you to purchase a memory card which will cost you at least another $15-$25. Also I am very careful when placing the system into it's dock, despite this it ends up with some scuff marks on the bottom corners. This also pushed me to purchase a glass screen protector for another $10. The last complaint I have about the system is that the buttons and joysticks feel very small and make my hands cramp up if I'm playing for more than an hour and can make some games feel awkward when performing certain actions. I would say that I have small to average hands so I can imagine it being worse for people with larger hands. Despite these problems I love the system overall. I would recommend it just in terms of the portability factor and the games available currently(Zelda, Mario, Xenoblade 2) as well as games slated to come out in the next few years(Metroid, Pokemon, Smash, etc.).

Great system but missing features you'd expect.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nintendo did a great job with this system only possible by the new USB type C standard. Feels great in your hands after you get used to the weight and the battery lasts a good amount of time undocked. No part of the designs feels like an after thought except maybe the micro SD card slot, but not a huge issue. This console falls short of some things. 1. Storage: with only 32 gb of onboard storage you are going to need an SD card soon after purchase depending on the games you play. More storage space would have been great but also may have drove up the price. 2. No Bluetooth headset support is a hit to private play on the go. The current work around involves a dongle; something that is universally hated at this point. The joycons paid over Bluetooth so the option is there it's just not enabled. 3. No way to save games externally. Whether on the cloud or SD card you can not back up your save data and if your system breaks you are out of luck, It's that simple. Most of the issues can be resolved by simple software updates but should have been implemented from the beginning, which is a shame for an otherwise great console.

A refreshing look back into the past
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recall my first Nintendo was a GameBoy color as a kid back in the 90s and mostly playing Pokémon, Mario, and Donkey Kong on all their mobile platforms up until the GBA SP when at some point I lost interest in favor of Xbox and PlayStation. I haven’t played or purchased a Nintendo system until a few months ago during the pandemic when I joined the craze of people buying a Switch. I’m not interested in Animal Crossing, but I was interested in the games I once played rigorously in the past. It’s taken me awhile to think about this review, but I can say that despite Nintendo not winning the “console wars” in terms of specs and graphics, it’s greatest achievement for me is to bring back the nostalgia of playing fun, simple games wherever I am without being stuck in one place. With Xbox and PlayStation to really enjoy the experience I have to sit down and cannot easily move things around (I know Xbox has xCloud and PlayStation has remote play on Vita, but those weren’t available for me at this time). With the Nintendo Switch, however, I can have it docked when I want to play on my 85” Sony X900H or I can simply take it out and play wherever. During these times obviously I’m not taking it away from home due to quarantine, but I can play by my pool, move it to another TV with ease, or while relaxing in bed. The Nintendo single player games themselves provide fun challenges that aren’t stressful (at least to me) and really take my mind off. I still enjoy Xbox and PlayStation and play them more often than the Switch, but this fills in the gaps for when I want the simple joys of childhood.

Excellent Game Console for Everyone
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is hands down the best gaming console out there today. Out of the box it’s great for any situation; on-the-go or at home, playing solo or with a friend with the included controller. The online store has a vast variety of games genres, expanding Nintendo’s previously limited selection with games for more mature audiences, while also keeping their classic family-friendly games. The Nintendo Switch is the perfect console for every type of gamer.

Seamless Fun for a Mobile Lifestyle
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I don't usually buy consoles at launch, mostly because of availability but also launch titles. Given that Zelda was available at launch, I had to get the Switch. I was really surprised at how compact, portable, and seamless the whole thing is. The dock allows for such easy transition from TV to the console itself. It packs well for travel, and the price point is great. Splatoon 2 was another great title to pick up and am finally looking forward to spending more time with my Switch with Mario and Xenoblade 2 coming out soon.

Best of both worlds!
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The perfect hybrid: The best feature and biggest selling point of the Nintendo switch is the fact that it can be used as a home console by placing it on the dock and playing on your TV, or removing it from the dock and taking it with you wherever you go. Sure it's not going to have the same power or graphical capabilities as my Xbox or Playstation, but thats not why you buy a switch. I will gladly take that compromise with many (not all) games to take them with me portably. Game exclusives: I play my xbox or playstation (depending on friends online) mainly to play cross platform games such as Call of Duty, Madden, Apex, etc. There have been few exclusives that have wowed me on xbox and playstation the way Nintendo exclusives have. Zelda BOTW quickly became my favorite game by far. Mario Kart is the perfect game to play when you have friends or family over. And games like Splatoon 2 just give a different and fun meaning to shooters. These just are a few of the games I have had a blast playing. Overall, the Switch has become my favorite console so far. I now know why they have been sold out everywhere during the pandemic. If you can get your hands on one, I highly recommend it!

Fantastic
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was waiting for this console to be in stock because of Zelda. When I finally got my hands on it I was blown away. The portability is just so nice and convenient for a lazy day when I don’t wanna get out of bed or I’m on the go. The red and blue joy cons are so lovely and beautiful looking. The Hd rumble is very nice and the system plays so well and looks gorgeous. Being able to play handled and on TV is a huge plus that makes it so different and fun. It is definitely worth the buy and should be picked up by any gamer.

Great cosole
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Switch is really an awesome console. Nintendo knows how to make great games. They have a way about them that no other console maker has. I have a PS4, XBOX One as well, but my favorite games are on the switch. Mario Odyssey, and Zelda Breath of the Wild are probably worth getting the console over (independently), not to mention Splatoon 2, or the family fun game 1-2 Switch (great for young kids 4 years to adult). It may not be for everyone, but it is probably about as close as you will get to the perfect console.

Love
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We bought this for our 8 year old son. He loves it! our 4 year old daughter is able to operate it as well. She doesn’t totally understand the controls, but it is enough to let her think she is playing. We did make sure we got the newer model with the longer battery life. It was easy to set up with our tv as well, but not required. There is also an app that can set limits on the time they use the Switch. We have not downloaded the app yet, but will soon.

Finally!!!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After months of waiting for a restock, I finally landed my hands on one of these babies! This Nintendo exceed all my expectations PLUS MORE. Purchased as gift to my husband. To get him through his law night shifts. Little did I know I would love this purchase. We watch YouTube, and Hulu through it. And play all of our childhood games which are new and improved. Some kid on YouTube showed us how to upload Netflix on it too!

Best console on the market hands-down!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Say what you will about Nintendo but this device has brought more joy to my wife and I than our ps4 or previously owned Xbox ever could. Hell it’s even better than playing on my pc and I am a stickler for fast performance and high quality graphics. The reason I say all of this is simple: the switch is just plain fun. The games can help you kill time like nothing else and the ability to alternate handheld and full screen is the best idea ever. It is almost dangerous how much time one could spend playing the multitude of fantastic titles on this system. Open world titles can look a little blurry and antialiasing is nonexistent in games like Zelda but it is extremely easy to look past the flaws because at the end of the day it is about the fun you are having. Don’t hesitate on this console...get it when you have $300 saved up. Also for $20 a YEAR for Nintendo Switch Online you get access to tons of old snes and nes classics plus Tetris 99 and other little freebies. Well worth every penny!

||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.By far the best system out there in my opinion. The fast that this is a protable and stationary system amazes me. My daughter loves timhis system and the nintendo specific games that we purchased as well. I grew up using the original nintendo and nintendo 64 so being able to purchase alot of the same games for my daughter gave her the opportunity to experience what i did as a child. Highly recommend!!!
