Chloe with Nomad Customer Support here. I'm sorry to hear about your experience with our Leather Strap! I do have a few good suggestions for treating the knicks that inevitably show up on genuine leather as it is a natural material and this a normal part of the patina/break in process. Scratches and knicks on the strap can be effectively buffed out with a soft cloth and some elbow grease. They won't completely disappear from the strap, but they will appear to look more natural. Also, I'm not trying to sell you on another Nomad product here, but you can use a leather conditioner (which we sell on our website, www.hellonomad.com, but can be found in many other places as well!) to help buff out inconsistencies in the leather and protect against new ones!
