    An excellent entry to VR

This is an excellent entry-level device for those who want to try VR for the first time. I bought it for watching HULU and NETFLIX and my own movies, which you can load directly to the visor by dragging and dropping your movie files from your PC. It seems that some of the harshest criticisms against this device comes from those who are comparing the features of it with those costing hundreds of dollars more (some requiring expensive computers to function). When I watch films and shows on it, the experience is like owning your own movie theatre. For what it is, it is excellent.

Bought for Christmas gift for me and hubby. We DO LOVE the VR; except the battery life! He plays the poker room and gets about an hour old in.... then, out shuts off. Getting irritating

Purchase this product a couple of weeks ago. I already own the Gear VR (2016). I like this device much better primarily because I don't have to go through the hassle of taking my phone out the case and fitting it into the headset....Overall great functionality. Would love to see more Apps and Games for it. ALSO; I hope OCULUS will build in or include an Accessibility feature to enlarge the Menu text size as some of us are visually impaired.....Most phones have this feature so I would love to see this extended to these devices!!!!!

Outstanding VR standalone for the Price

I was a bit hesitant to go for these, but I have a trip coming up and I figured I could use some entertainment so I grabbed these. Right out of the box, an easy set up via smartphone. Very user friendly and the sound is impressively immersive for something so simple. Overall am impressed and glad I bought the Go! Pros: Price point is the best on the market = Great value Youtube VR, facebook, VR rooms are pretty cool concepts fit is actually comfortable, solid build cons: can get smudgey if your forehead rubs on the lenses Easly gets humid, needs better ventilation though I can see why this may be a though fix to feel immersive

Have the Rift, like this better!

The Go is the perfect device to get you interested and using a VR platform. With a user-friendly control, plenty of games and experiences, and an ability to add social elements, this is your best bet. While others may have a better display, cheaper option, or more robust system....this system balances all of those things. Only gripe is that it tends to overheat too quickly. Obviously, understandable do to the small size and power. My suggestion, lower the screen brightness and make sure your room has moving air or a fan blowing on it if you plan to play for several hours.

    So freaking cool

When you watch Netflix or hulu you are in a virtual theater complete with couch scenery when you look out the windows and magazines on the coffee table. It's like sitting in a beautiful home in the mountains in your own private home theater. Every app including the home screen is an entire virtual world. You even have an internet browser to surf the net and find vr footage on other websites or just surf the net like any other day. Connect headphones for privacy like nothing else. Virtual reality videos are unreal

    A winner for the masses

The Oculus Go is a light and sleek VR headseat that is better than the GearVR in every way. AND you can use it even if you don't own a recent Samsung phone. This device has an excellent screen (even better than the Rift and I have owned it since launch 2 years ago). The field of View is much larger than GearVR and the controller is much more comfortable. This is the best VR has ever looked and for the low entry price it is a no brainer to pick this up.

Purchased one for my 34th birthday and I love it. My wife liked it so much after 30 min I ordered her one. This is my first VR so keep that in mind. Very easy and quick to set up with no trouble. Be sure to purchase the 63gb if you can spare an extra 50 bucks as it is not upgradable. My only problem is finding the time to use it. LOVE THIS THING.

    One thing to worry about.

This headset is rocking a LCD display and not a OLED which means is is not as reactive as other OLED headsets like the regular rift and vive and might have slight motion blur. But other headsets like the Windows Mixed Reality headsets are using the same type of panels.

    Not worth the money

I tried a demo of this at a local store and found it enjoyable so purchased the headset. Upon setting it up at home, found the headset to be very uncomfortable, even with the insert for glasses. No matter what we did there was a lower light leak. Handheld controller needed to continually be re--pointed. Then, almost no decent content unless you are willing to spend considerable money in addition to purchase of the headset. Visual display had an awful lot of gray around the edges, most quality less than 1080 HD. This is going back.

I use mine mainly to watch videos and its great for that.. Only knock is the small amount of storage with no option to use memory cards. Video playback looks quite a bit better on the Go compared to Rift, I have both.

Had a Demo at Best buy and ordered one right away. 3 days later received the Go, set it up downloaded games and apps and WOW! I loose time emersed in the 3d 360 environments. For the price it's amazing and a great escape!

Basically a garbage smartphone with a face strap

Really a garbage headset overall. The Quest 2 is marginal, but infinitely better than the Go. The Go is basically just a sub-par smartphone strapped to your face.

    Maybe I’m Missing It

I saw a review that said this is a no-brainer at this price point. I have to disagree. You don’t need a smart-phone, they say, because you don’t have to have a phone tethered to the device, but you definitely need a smart phone to read the manual, set it up, download the app, log-in, and add accessories. The instruction book is limited, it steers you to a Facebook account for set-up (which is understandable given Facebook’s investment but seems a bit tone deaf given the latest privacy concerns), the unit won’t work with wireless headphones of any type, and, gee, one of the leading apps is, essentially, a GIF headset with photos, $5 back in the 1980s. Other apps are incredibly expensive, averaging $10 or so, which makes the $249 the entry price. The unit has been billed as the mainstream virtual reality unit. No. This unit isn’t as ready for prime time as they claim. It’s worth a flier, but not at this price point.

Streaming not ready to support it

    Posted .

I purchased this with intent to stream online content. Unfortunately it seems the only options are Apps or the Browser. The only AAA streaming Apps are NetFlix, Showtime, and Hulu. That’s it. Unfortunately the subtitling in the Oculus NetFlix App is badly broken. Don’t plan on watching any subtitled Anime or foreign films. Option two is the browser which does not support Flash. Therefore sites like Crunchyroll are not an option. I tried to browser stream from Directv but it errors out. If you want to stream video content, plan on side-loading or use a Media Server from your PC
