Sadly i returned the one i had, i have the Go also and didn't see much difference in quality of watching videos. Neither is really crystal clear and Quest is more for gamers. The thing i didn't like about the Quest besides not a lot of games to choose from & NO free games, was none of my apps from the Go transferred over. So is it worth $400? not in the my opinion, i would just stick with the Go if your not into the high tech games.

Very realistic, needs more games. It’s priced up there with other non virtual reality game systems that offer far more choices for games.

Don’t get me wrong, excellent 3D effects...however the games/apps may end up being too costly for what they are. Ended up returning.

This thing is HEAVY. It is very uncomfortable to use for more than about 15 minutes. Even then you are fighting to keep this thing in the right spot to keep it from getting blurry. I had to strap a 10,000 mah battery pack to the back of the headset to balance it out. It also does not seal to the face causing light bleed from both side. Very poor design. This will not cast to anything (even though they claim it does). I have tried casting to an Android phone, iPad, and Chromecast. It does not work at all!! Even with all devices on the same wifi network. No prompt to cast...nothing at all. Currently have an open ticket for this. Crashes. I have never in my life seen something that crashes this much. I have to restart the headset at least 7-10 times a day due to something causing the software to crash to a black screen. I only have one game installed (Arizona Sunshine) and could only play it one time. Now the thing just crashes non stop. All in all this is just not quite there yet. It is more of a beta product than an actual release. This is why other companies are leaving Oculus in the dust for VR. This thing is total garbage. DO NOT BUY IT!!!

Oculus doesn't allow multiple users to log into one headset. This means only one person per game because they don't have more than one save slot. Android OS allows this function but Oculus shut this feature down! Many people can play ps4 games at once, but not this system. Its just dumb. They want you to buy many headsets and games for your family. Evil and greedy!

Not worth it after new Oculus Account Policy

I can't wholeheartedly recommend the Oculus VR headsets to anyone in light of Facebook/Oculus's new policy for accounts. There's no good reason anyone should need a Facebook account just for a VR headset. It's absurd, and ruins what would otherwise be a 5 star review from me. Headset works well, post-purchase support/account system is awful.

My experiences with prior VR phone-based hardware had tempered my expectations for this device. However, that quickly changed once I put it on. This is a truly entertaining piece of hardware. SET-UP Initial set-up is accomplished via the Oculus app available for both Android and iOS. The app walks you through setting up your Oculus account, connecting to the headset, connecting the headset to your wi-fi, and updating the headsets’ software (if necessary). When you first put on the headset, Oculus includes a handy tutorial on how to use the system. Oculus teaches you the basic button and controller combinations for pointing, grasping, moving, etc. The tutorial includes a couple of different practice “games” that are quite entertaining and after a few minutes, even a novice will have the skills and concepts down. USE Before starting your games, Oculus includes a Guardian program to outline your gaming area. Using a low resolution image of the room, you outline your playable area, including the floor. This is to help prevent injury or property damage. The headset will monitor where you are within these predefined boundaries. Get a little too close to an edge and a grid will show up on your screen to alert you. Get a little closer and the area turns red as a final warning before stopping the game and making you move back into your predefined area before you can resume playback. Very nice. After downloading and installing my first game, Vader Immortal, I was blown away. The interactivity that this headset provides is a game changer. You no longer sit in front of a screen and use a controller. This product puts you into the game. The world around you is in full 3-D and interactive. Want to see what’s going on around you? Move your head and look around. Want to pick something up? Reach out with your hand and grasp the object. Need to flip a switch, turn a lever, climb a ladder? Reach out with your hands and do it. The 6 degrees of freedom that Oculus touts with this product is something that is hard to describe and must be experienced to appreciate. Head movements and controller tracking are spot on. The games and apps change their perspectives with your movements and gestures. The headset includes stereo speakers and the audio is positional as well. Voices, ambient sounds, etc move around in relation to the way you turn your head. Totally immersive. Battery life on a full charge is approximately 2 hours of constant playback. The headset is rechargeable via an included USB-C cable and charger and each controller uses 1 AA battery (included). Thankfully, the Oculus dashboard displays the current battery percentages of the headset and both controllers. FINAL THOUGHTS This is a very good product. The ability to move, look around and interact with your environment without wires or cords is awesome. Images are bright and detailed with little pixelation. I have had no issues with any apps, videos, or games I have downloaded and played. Everything has worked without issue. While it is true there is not a ton of apps and games at present, there is still a decent variety available and most folks should be able to find something that they like. I would definitely recommend this product.

I have had this for less than a year and have already returned it once because the right controller stopped responding. Received a brand new system and it hasn't lasted more than a 2 months. Same issue again. Extremely frustrating. Plus Best Buy has no stock and only way to get a new system is ordering and then they ship it to your house!

Still has lots of room to improve. The picture quality on games such as wander is not great. The video quality for YouTube is also pretty bad. Graphics for games that are anime are decent. I’m returning the system because it still makes me incredibly nauseous.

The Good * No gaming PC needed * No cables needed when in use * Great graphics * Decent battery life * Plenty of VR content * Glasses-friendly The Bad * No Bluetooth audio * Headset is front-heavy -- Setup -- Setting up the Quest couldn't be easier, all you need is an iOS or Android device (you need to download the Oculus app). Once you download and sign into the app, it walks you through the setup process in just a couple quick steps. Oculus even includes two AA batteries for the controllers. Before you know it, you'll be able to check out VR without the need to be tethered to a gaming PC! -- Performance -- I was initially skeptical about how well the Quest would perform without a gaming PC. My previous VR experience was using a smartphone-connected VR headset, while it was fun, it lacked the power to really create any real immersion. Even without a PC, the Quest is almost unbelievably powerful! It's not just the graphics, which are amazing, but everything is incredibly smooth with no low FPS to ruin immersion. While the hardware is amazing, it does have its limits, which is why you'll see some titles on the Oculus store that are just not going to be compatible with the Quest. Sure, the Quest can't run all the titles its sibling the Rift S can, but I can bring my Quest with me without needing to carry a large gaming PC (or extremely pricy gaming laptop). Plus, I'm not tethered to anything! -- Comfort -- Since the Quest isn't tethered to a PC, you can only play for as long as the battery will last, which is only a couple hours. This isn't really a problem, since the Quest (for me) really starts to become quite uncomfortable after more than 1.5 hours of continuous use. The front of the Quest houses everything, so of course it's going to be a little heavy. The headset straps don't really help to redistribute the weight, so you instantly feel the weight on your face. At first it's fine, but slowly starts to become uncomfortable. I do wear glasses, so this might contribute to the discomfort after long periods of use. Speaking of glasses, there is an adapter included in the box to extend the face cushion, allowing room for your frames so you don't need to worry about scratching either the lenses of the Quest or your glasses. -- Content -- The Oculus store is already full of plenty of games and VR experiences, and it's only going to increase as more and more people buy Oculus headsets! The Quest comes with a couple demos preinstalled, so you can try out a couple games before making any purchases. Any game genre that can translate properly to VR is available, so you shouldn't have any trouble finding games to enjoy. If you want to just relax and sit in a chair, you can watch movies in a virtual home theater with a huge big-screen "TV" (really great with Netflix). You can even browse the web with the included Oculus VR web browser. -- Audio -- The Quest does have built-in speakers, but I would recommend a good pair of earbuds for the best audio and immersion experience. Unfortunately, it does not support Bluetooth, so I can't use my noise-cancelling headphones with the Quest. Even without headphones/earbuds, the Quest's speakers do a great job and sound quite good. -- Bottom Line -- I have been waiting for this since the disappointment of the Virtual Boy in 1995. Truly convenient VR gaming is finally here! Sure, the Quest has some faults, but they are NOWHERE near bad enough to make me not want to use it or avoid recommending it. Just take breaks to rest and charge the Quest, and have a decent pair of earbuds.

It’s a cool toy but doesn’t allow you to play Poker VR or Oculus rooms!! 2 of the most socially interactive features from the oculus go. I am currently using my Go 90% of the time because of this. Also the games on this set are 5X more expensive. I say save the money and get the Oculus Go!
