Customers enjoy the immersive VR experience and the comfortable design of the Rift Headset, frequently praising its lightweight feel and intuitive touch controllers. However, some users point to the lower resolution and resulting screen door effect as drawbacks, while others mention occasional motion sickness and compatibility issues with certain games or hardware. The available content library is also a point of contention for some customers. Despite these shortcomings, many appreciate the headset's overall performance and value for the price.

If you are a gamer, and you have been on the edge of VR. Stop what you are thinking, and buy this. This is a whole other experience, and is absolutely amazing. I have no regrets purchasing this.

Still not ready for mainstream.

I got the pleasure of owning the Oculus Rift for less than 24 hours. Setting up the device although took some time was simple enough and I got the head set up and running no problem.
Then I restarted my computer and boom, Blue Screen of Death (BSOD). I was getting a System_Thread_Exception_Not_Handled error when my computer tried to reboot. When I looked up the error in relation to the Oculus Rift I found quite a few post about others experiencing BSOD issues. However theirs occurred while using the rift while playing a game and it gave them a specific error code and they were still able to boot back into Windows. I was not so lucky. I could not boot into Windows, I could not boot even into safe mode. None of my windows repair tools could fix my problem nor was I able to restore to a previous system restore point.
After struggling for about 2 hours I finally had to try my last option, restart Windows while saving my personal files (basically all of my programs and applications were erased but all my pictures and media files were spared. Once Windows reinstalled my computer was working normally. Needless to say I decided not to play with fire and promptly boxed up the Rift and returned it the next day.
Some of the info I read suggested that there may be a conflict with the graphic drivers causing the Rift to crash the computer. I was running the minimum hardware required to run the rift and for the 15 minutes of the opening demos I got to watch it looked grate. However a product that is "ready" for the main stream should not be turning computers into giant paper weights. Not everyone might have the knowledge or willingness to try and trouble shoot an error like this or be ready to completely wipe their machine to get it running again.
If you are the average consumer and buying the Oculus Rift be warned you may run into problems you may not know how to resolve.
A product that is being sold as a mainstream device should be plug and play and cause no issues. The Oculus was not ready for a mainstream deployment and was rushed out too soon.
Be very careful when deciding to drop $600+ for a product that isn't fully ready.

Let me start by stating how satisfied I was after ordering my rift on a Sunday from BestBuy and getting home from work on Monday to realize that the product was waiting for me at my door. I was a user of the DK2, and I have to say that I am cery happy with the upgrade to the consumer version. The product is solid, well designed and the experience can't be accurately conveyed in words, you just simply have to try it to understand how cool this is. Oh! By the way, I am running the CV1 from an Alienware laptop with a GTX 780M with a Mini DisplayPort to HDMI active adapter and it runs at 90fps at full resolution in low detail and with Anti-aliasing on but at the minimum level. It still looks superb!

OCULUS Rift is amazing. It is the best VR experience on the market. No complaints. I bought this to use at my elementary school. My students love it and my own tow kids do as well (ages 8 & 9).

Don't fall for cellphone vr or Google cardboard. Oculus is the first real wow inducing experience. Really nicely packed, we'll built and relatively cheap, considering the quality. Don't doubt it!

I love the Oculus Rift very much, most impressed with the positional audio with voices coming precisely from an avatars location make social games more enjoyable.
Immersive games like Elite Dangerous envelope your senses in a way I can not describe.
My issues are few and I know as the technology improves these will be corrected.
1. God rays a light blooming effect caused by the lens technology.
2. Needs better options/adjustments for eyeglasses.
3. Hoping for technology to allow seeing keyboard if needed. (A toggled external view with out the need to remove the unit).
But with those few issues the wow factor overshadows them, even as simple a thing as A VR table game with a few players will cause you to lose track of time in a delightful social experience.

Never though I would buy a game such as this but when I viewed it at Best Buy I was more than thrilled. I own an XBox One that I rarely use but this OCULUS RIFT I use almost every day . . .

Before this sale, these used to retail for over $500 just for the headset, now that it's around half that it's basically a must have. It comes with enough free games to top it off too.

The headset itself is very nice and comes in an excellent re-usable box/case. The headset gets a little uncomfortable on my face after 30-45 minutes, but I think that would be remedied with a thicker foam pad for the face. I have no sweating or fogging issues. I do see an issue with blurriness around whatever it is you're looking at, the only part of the screen that is sharp is what you're facing. I like to look around without turning my head a lot, so that is an issue for me.
Overall I like my VR headset, the only real issue I have is that it comes with just one sensor. Only having one sensor means you can't turn around with reliable tracking, although if you buy the touch controllers (which I think should come with the headset) you get an extra sensor to place.

We love this!! It is great for a family or single. It has fantastic graphics and response time! Only down fall is the placement of the cable into the goggles. If not put on properly, it can pull and glitch the viewer.

When paired with a VR ready computer I find it works really well. The immersive experience is great! With various apps, you can also watch 3D movies and look at panoramic images.
