Customers are saying

Customers enjoy the immersive VR experience and the comfortable design of the Rift Headset, frequently praising its lightweight feel and intuitive touch controllers. However, some users point to the lower resolution and resulting screen door effect as drawbacks, while others mention occasional motion sickness and compatibility issues with certain games or hardware. The available content library is also a point of contention for some customers. Despite these shortcomings, many appreciate the headset's overall performance and value for the price.

Great foray into the early stages of VR. Many programs are very immersive but the quality of titles available varies greatly, from extremely basic visuals to more complex and satisfying (and expensive) games. While very immersive and unique, the graphics are simply not as strong as what today's PCs and consoles can offer. That's certainly not an issue if you're not interested in those, but if you are you will notice a downgraded experience when gaming. Other negatives for me were the amount of space required to play many of the titles for the best experience, being tethered to the headset was hard to get used to (hopefully next gen will be wireless), and I definitely experienced a significant amount of motion sickness on some titles that was unpleasant and lasted for quite some time. While it may not be for me, if you're an early adopter of technology with realistic expectations and want to experience something truly unique to share with friends and family, you will likely enjoy this system.

Wow! Extremely immersive gaming and experiences. Keep in mind that this is a first generation product so it's not perfect. Resolution is not as high as I'd like but I don't notice it much when the experience is so amazing. Well worth it!

If possible get the Rift. You won't regret it. I've been gaming for 30+ years, I know I'm telling my age.. Let me tell you gaming needed a boost, and this is it.. I've never thought that I'd see the day where I felt that I was right there in the game.. Remember vr is in its infancy and not everything is perfect, but let me tell you they're headed in the right direction. Don't be fooled by other vr headsets(yea I'm talking to you HTC Vive), the Rift was made by people that really care about vr and aren't in it just to make a quick buck. If you live near a best buy where they have the rift set up don't be afraid to try it out. That's what I did and now I'm a proud new owner of the Rift.. Once again it's not cheap, but once you experience it you won't even care, you'll just say here take my money.. We'll don't listen to me go try it out for yourself..

The Oculus is an absolutely rad VR headset, especially when paired the the Oculus Touch controllers. The nice added bonus of an Xbox One controller with the wireless controller dongle for your PC adds a decent value to the overall package.

Gives a good experience and works well. Do need a fairly souped up PC which I had but need to upgrade the video card. Easy to setup and install. Con is the heat set doesn't make provision to wear glasses easily and no way to adjust the focus to use it without wearing them.

This is by far the most innovative and amazing device I have ever bought!!! Since I've bought this, I haven't even wanted to go on my Xbox One much because it doesn't compare to the Oculus Experience. It's very hard to explain till you try it. Once you put it on, your hooked!!! You will not be disappointed with your purchase! Had all my relatives over for a birthday party and every one of them were amazed and didn't want to stop trying it! Amazing!!!

Oculus Rift has great graphic. Most importantly they have the money to invest in games as the parent company is facebook. Oculus touch is also a must have to experience VR fullest. Rift is by far the best headset on the market.

Well, I've been a fan of Oculus since they first announced what they were doing. Between the rift and the vive, it was always going to be the rift for me. Once I got it, the first time using it, I was amazed. I primarily got it for Project Cars, since my wife won't allow me to have a real race car yet. It's a good first gen device though it does have some faults that I can easily forgive. Screen door effect is noticeable to me. It's not awful, especially in games, but watching VR videos, it's easy to notice.

Bought this 2 days ago And The climb game is simply amazing to play with oculus and touch controllers. This headset is comfortable and can wear it for a few 2-3 hours then ready for a break. Playing in a small bedroom doesn't work to good. But using in living it is awesome. Your play space which is indicted within headset when you get close to what you setup is where makes the oculus even better. Something I've always wanted since the tron and nes days. VR its here and will only get better. Recommend this headset all day long. I already told several people and they will be coming over to try. At very least do your self a favor and demo at Best Buy. As soon as I did I was shocked how real it feels. Has better resolution than any other vr head set out there too

I bought this as part of the bundle, and was surprised when it shipped to me before many others that had ordered directly from oculus. I havnt spent much time with this but when I first got it up and running I was simply amazed. The rating system in oculus app of 'intensity' will go along way for the games and apps, if you jump into intense you will begin to feel dizzy but you can work up to it. The games are intensely fun and the support from steam breathes a lot of life into this. If you are on the fence about buying one, do it.

Ever since I first started seeing Oculus Rift used by YouTubers I just wanted to have one myself. Once, I knew Best Buy was getting them in, I knew soon I had to get one and so I did this past Black Friday. I have never been so happy to have this VR device in my hands, it has been the best experience for me. It also comes packed with the game EVE: Valkyrie (amazing first person shooter.) You can play Oculus either sitting down or standing up. But make sure you have a good amount of space before playing a games, because you lose all sense of space when in VR world. It also does have the ability to make you light headed, but only if you're playing for a extended period of time. I would so recommend this to my friends.

It's a bit expensive to get started with VR right now but the experience is absolutely amazing. I started out with an Oculus DK2 shared amongst some friends and decided to take the leap into the Rift about a month out from the release of the Touch controllers. I had been looking at buying an HTC Vive but the technologies are almost on par with each other and I didn't want to be locked out of Oculus exclusive titles. Valve has been very open about supporting the Rift and I figgured I'd get the best of both worlds with Oculus. Don't forget to include the purchase of Touch with the Rift, the experience just isn't complete without the tracked controllers that made the Vive such an appealing system.

The Oculus Rift headset is a fantastic piece of technology. It can really take you to another world. You need to have a solid PC to be able to drive the headset so verify the minimum requirements before buying the headset. Also realize you really should purchase the Touch Controllers with the headset as many games require them and they bring the VR world to life. The configuration will take you about 15-30 minutes to get up and running. Make sure you have enough room around your PC to move without hitting walls or other things in your environment. This is one of those technologies that you will want to show to everyone who comes over to your house and they will leave amazed.

I had the Oculus DK1 and it was awesome. The graphics quality was lower and the field of view wider, but it was awesome! Now the Oculus CV1 is out! The resolution is great! The field of view is narrower, but you don't notice once you start using it. Also, the lenses aren't right up against your eyeballs and gives plenty of room for glasses and such. I have a lazy eye, also, so I wasn't sure if VR would work well for me, since I don't see 3D all that well. It works and it looks great! There isn't a TON of games out for it, yet, but there are a few awesome games, experiences, apps and such and more coming out everyday! There's quite a few free things on the Oculus store and Steam as well to check out before diving into other games and such. Overall the Oculus is amazing, and even though it's still in it's enthusiast stage, so if you don't have the money or want for VR currently, I'd wait for prices to go down. Eventually they will. In my opinion, it's worth the money.

The reality of VR is that when it works it is fantastic. But it doesn't work on all games... I use a third party program called vorpx which lets me run many 'unauthorized' games in 3D, like URU and Dear Esther. There are different levels of 3D as well: Uru for example is very light on 3D and you don't get immersion, while Dear Esther lets you think you are falling off the cliffs. The only other downside I can think of is all the wires that need to be permanently connected to your system. My gosh, I wish they put a quick disconnect into the goggles to allow them to be removed for storage, but no such luck (I took 1 star off for this)... I think the 'Next Big Thing' will be wireless 3D. All in all, however, a very intense experience when it all works correctly!
