    Wow

There have been several times in my life when I purchased or tried a product which blew me away and left me with that “wow” feeling that I never forgot - Playing the first Nintendo (NES) on my Birthday (it was such a huge step forward from what everyone was used to back then); Pushing a CD into a car CD player in the 80’s (sounds stupid but if you're older, you'll understand what I mean); Opening the first Apple iPod and navigating the scroll wheel and then using an iPhone years later. All of those products literally changed things and when you experienced them the very first time, they blew you away and you knew it was something that would change the world (as much as a consumer product can change the world). So our 8 year old has been asking for a VR headset for Christmas. I (sort of) researched them for a few minutes and picked the Rift up on Black Friday. I wanted to make sure one of our PC’s could run it so I opened it, installed it, and used it. Wow. Are you kidding? After 10 minutes I went and grabbed my wife who HATES video games, and computers in general, and I asked her to go put the headset on and pick up the controllers while I distracted the kids. She spent 20 minutes with it, came back, and proceeded to talk me into buying a second one one for the "adults". No kidding. I didn’t care about or want anything VR related before this weekend. Now I’m in the middle of upgrading our PC's just to get a "better" VR experience. Put one on your head. It’s like nothing you’ve ever experienced and you will never want to use a computer monitor or TV to play a game again. The Oculus is 100% worth the money. At the Black Friday price it's 200% worth the money. If you can afford to throw a decent GPU and CPU in your computer, go for it. I can’t overstate it. This is a "change the world" product.

I can’t say. As research dictates, you gotta have a beefed up computer to run this. Had to return although was sure computer was enough. Disappointed. Went with the PlayStation VR. Very pleased and games are inexpensive. Since it’s for gaming and not movies, PlayStation VR is perfect. If movies is a want...try the Oculus if possible.

The hardware is solid but I can't give this a good review with Facebook's new policies requiring a Facebook account. You want to make customers use Facebook? Forget it. It's a shame that Oculus was bought out by Facebook. Sold this for a Valve Index.

Purchased this expensive VR for Christmas for my 16 year old son. One of the controllers broke on the fourth day. So now we have sent it back and need to wait on a replacement controller. Apparently this has happened to others.

Definitely not worth the price , such a hassle.tomset up, requirements on your PC , must be compatible and once you are finally ok on everything , it dissapoints by giving you blurry images. Needs a lot of work

Best Buy had a great price and a wonderful return but oculus rift after much research (video card numbers, system requirements, etc.) into whether it would work on my sons gaming laptop failed. the HDMI cable plugs into the standard video card and not the nvidia video card inside the ROG. it doesn't state anywhere that oculus rift has to have a desktop or one of the only three laptops they "certify". The oculus software test we did worked on the laptop. Oculus did not support this.. I wish this was stated by Oculus on their descriptions for those of us who wanted to surprise their kids for Christmas.

The picture flickered most of the time. It looked cool when it worked, but that wasn't most of the time. The sensors also missed a lot of my movements.

It's okay for the average person to use. But I wouldn't recommend it for anyone else. It's pretty pricey for what you get and new technology is worth waiting a few more months for instead.

I love all things VR, but the technology just isn't there yet. The headset is impossible to wear with classes. If you have a large head you can adjust the size, but not much, and light leaked through by the nose area. There are not many applications for this hardware yet. Maybe it was because I didn't have my glasses on but the screen resolution do not feel anything close to 1080p. You can adjust the resolution manual on the headset, but the improvement was minimal. I'll give it another try in 5 years or so.

This is the best electronic purchase I've ever made! I have been a gamer since the 1st Atari came out. I'm 40 years old now and have a teenage child. This will give us SO much to do together. It has just as much educational games as hard core regular games. I'm more than impressed with the Oculus. It has exceeded my wildest dreams of what fun family entertainment can be. This bundle is a great price, and WELL worth the money. I've waited 3 years for this system to come down to a price and bundle that would be worth the wait. This Black Friday sale was WORTH the wait. Enjoy and thank me later for this review. You won't be sorry you bought it...It's just as good as a self present, too! :)

System was not compatible with my current desktop even though it is a faster unit . Tech support was not much help and my son was extremely upset. I spent numerous hours fussing with the hardware and no luck getting it to work. There was little on-line documentation and from articles I read it is either all of nothing. For the cost of the unit was more impressed with sony VR and games available. It was running out of the box and with out as much hardware required
