This player has many features and options that are perfect for those who own the latest UHD TVs, with the ability to decode HLG, HDR10, Dolby Vision, and HDR10+ formatted discs and video streams. It is also a great player for those who own projectors, as it can be configured to provide the very best possible image quality in your home theater.

Seems like a great player after a week of use. Fast responses and fabulous picture. Just be aware that Dolby Vision is not enabled by default and must be enabled. It is not even part of the initial setup routine so you must hunt down the HDR setup. I don’t use it for streaming so no review possible for that function.

Excellent 4K blu ray player! Picture is phenomenal, and overall a very high quality player. Was debating whether to purchase this or the ub-9000, I'm still very satisfied for half the price and marginally the same quality picture. Previously owned at Sony ubp700 and it was a good introduction to the 4k players, it does not even come close to Panasonic. Highly recommend!

Great player. As someone who is a physical media enthusiast and goes far and low for UHD disk sales, I can say with confidence that this is the best player you can get. The app selection is sub-par but you are here for the best image quality not to watch something on Hulu in HD. The audio playback is great with ATMOS disk you will not be disappointed.

Replaced a Sony 700m that was freezing, huge upgrade if you care to spring the extra $$. I bought from open box so it was only a few dollars more. Its paired with a LG Oled & Panasonic Elite amp.

Got this as a birthday gift to myself; if you're looking for a premium stepup from a standard blu ray player and are willing to put down the money

The Panasonic DP-UB820 is a great 4K player. It produces sharp, colorful images. The big advantage of this player is that it is one of the first 4K players to add Dolby Vision video processing. Having a digital display of the running time on the front of this player is a great feature. No hitting the remote to find out the minute and seconds spot while you're watching! As much as I admire this 4K player, paying $500 for it seems extreme. There are other 4K players in the market that sell for less than half of that. If you want a 4K player loaded with features, you can't beat the Panasonic DP-UB820 player. But be prepared to pay for it!

Not as easy to use as it could be, but the picture is great and the sound paired with a surround system is outstanding. I have only used it with 4K and Blu-Ray disks so I can't say how good it upgrades. Good value for the money.

It blew me away! I never knew how much of a game chnaged this could be.

I bought this after reading a bunch of reviews. Its replacing my consoles as they’ve become just movie machines. This is much quieter then my consoles. As well it doesn’t crash loading up a disk.

Went from a Sony UBPX700 to this Panasonic and man I cant say how big of an improvement or was. I honestly didn't think I would notice but it was like day and night no more grainy 4k movies. Also, got a pearl HDMI cable which helps and I would do it again no question.

This is by far the best Ultra 4K blu ray player out on the market. This review is based on being used on a 4K projector with uses HDR10 not a TV. 1. Loading times are very fast. 2. The remote control is very good despite what others say. 3. The overall picture quality is very clear and sharp and very crisp. 4. The colors are vivid and colorful.

If your like me and are finally ready to replace your outdated blu ray player for a 4k one. You dont know which one to pick then you can't go wrong getting this one. Its update on the video specs and the intersurface is easy and hassle free. You may be paying more but don't cheap out the extra money is worth it for the quality your getting out of this player.

Great player, high end finish and high quality playback. The user interface is very intuitive. Would not recommend if you are planning to use this device for streaming. Otherwise, great premium product without the hefty price.

Love this player. I bought this so I wouldnt have to keep using my ps5. The picture looks amazing on a oled.

I had a Sony 4k player for a couple of years and just bought a new LG 8k TV. Sony player looked good but wanted the best picture to take advantage of my new tv. J had heard the hype of Panasonic 4K players and decided to spend the extra money to purchase one. There is really a big difference in picture quality. Much better and well worth the money.

This has almost everything a near top end player should have. The support of HDR and DV produces stunning pictures on my OLED display. I think the menus are good and I would have liked a back lit remote. While I would not use it, the lack of an HDMI input for other accessories is what the top end units have. So far it is awesome.

The UB820 is the most solid 4K player ive used. Came from a sony x300m1 so didnt have dolby vision. But the interface for the UB820 seems more modern and is easier to navigate.

Netflix HDR videos look much better using app in this player than using Roku Netflix app in TV. When providing input to this player from an external source such as a harddrive, only a short list of formats are recognized by this player which means your have to purchase software that can convert to an acceptable format which can be time consuming. If you want to watch a video using slow mo or frame by frame advance, this player does not appear to have capability to do that when the source is an external drive.
