I have a huge library of blu rays, so the upscaling was high on my list of priorities. I am not disappointed. Obviously it doesn't match 4k UHD blu ray disks, but it is on par with the compressed 4k streaming content I get from Netflix, Amazon, etc... So far, UHD blu rays are better than I expected. The color is what I noticed more than the detail. Overall very happy with this player and hugely grateful that I can still enjoy my regular blu-rays. Getting the $100 off price was worth waiting for.

I wanted to purchase a 4K Disc player to replace my XBox 1S. This player didn't disappoint. It was a dramatic difference in picture and sound between this player and my Xbox. If you have a home theater with a 4K display, then this player is a must.

After a enthusiastic recommendation by a Best Buy staff member, I took a long time researching this player. I finally decided to go for it and I have not been disappointed! Everyone who’s seen what it does for movies on my tv has been thoroughly impressed. I love it!

Excellent player with Dolby Vision which I needed for my LG OLED TV. Middle-of-the-road unit has most features I would want from the UB9000 and has build quality (average) from UB420. Don't buy for streaming apps, use dedicated streaming app for that.

Well, it is the best 4K Blu-ray player ive ever owned.

Love this player. It has virtually no hiccups. The firmware needs work for watching anything in dolbyvision. The screen will flicker, which is disappointing. Look for a great deal on an open box model and it’s worth it. $350 and it was like brand new.

My 4k player was 5 years old and worked great but I kept reading about how great this Panasonic was for picture and sound. I noticed an immediate improvement in both. So clear and the sound was amazing. So happy I upgraded

This unit lives up to its billing. Easy to set up, easy to use, a remote that does everything you need, and picture and sound quality of the highest order. Well worth the mkney!

My only gripe would be the remote. Wish it was more universal. Besides that, its awesome.

Bought this during BF. Didn't set it up right away but got around to it this week. First night, worked just fine. 2nd day it stopped reading the disk. Google "UB820 no read error" and there's and there's tons of people with same issues due to poor QC. Besides the dead player, very laggy UI and very outdated. First time using the remote was a bad experience too due to the Netflix button being positioned extremely poorly. Honestly expected better from a $500 device. Luckily I'm still within the return window and will be taking it back tomorrow.

Best 4k player with dolby vjsion for the price. Got it on sale. If you have doubts wanting a 4k player but have a ps5 or xbox. Just buy it. This is better and has dolby vision!

Best 4k player I have ever owned. You don't have to change any settings. It does it automatically for you. Always great deals as well.

I got the Panasonic UB820 after having some issues with my Sony UBP-X700 player and the upgrade has been significant. It's a substantially more powerful and responsive machine. I love the HDR tone mapping features. I've used it for both Blu-Ray and 4K Blu-Rays and it looks and sounds excellent. Whether in Dolby Vision or not, the quality of physical media compared to streaming is worth the lack of convenience (as if having to get off the couch and switch out discs is some unsurmountable task). I'll be honest and say I don't use the streaming/smart TV functions, so I can't really speak to the quality of the other functions.

Great quality of sound and image, outstanding... You get what you pay for, it's pricey compared to other models but 100% worth the money as long as you have a good HDR 4K tv and a receiver capable of handling the sound experience.

Fantastic Blu-ray player. I never knew the importance of a good player like this one. The sound and video is fantastic, when you add to it a good AV receiver, you will be blown away

If you have a Dolby Vision capable set and 4k disc purchase this player. The tone mapping and video processing capabilities enhance every movie but, specifically top notch mastered DV presentations. The DP-UB820-K is worth every penny in an age of deprecated physical media.

Excellent HD DVD player, needs high quality HDMI sends great picture - streaming a plus - would be better if user could add additional streaming services. Netflix Prime and YouTube TV a plus not upgradable to Hulu or Plex

Pairing this player with a Sony 77A80J made a world of difference. Before I was playing the 4k disks from PS5 but the image was not even close what the UB820 can produce in HDR or DV.

Tons of picture customisation for calibration. UI could have been better though.
