Perfect for All Fans of Physical Media

Even the most compressed DVD-R footage looks better than it ever will, near blu-ray quality. Currently have this hooked up to my 55" Sony X950H, and with the bluray player's features and TV's features combined, everything looks fantastic.

I really like this 4K player as it supports HDR10, HDR10+, and DOLBY VISION. The players settings are great as you can choose what tv you have like an oled, medium to high luminance, or really bright luminance depending on your tv. I recommend this player and is definitely just like the oppo.

Fantastic Picture

For DVD and Blu-Ray I am very very pleased. The DVD picture is surprisingly good on a Sony A9G flagship OLED television. Much to my surprise, The DP-UB820 replaced my beloved Oppo BDP-93.

Buyer’s Beware

Here comes the issues. First, you have to go on line to get a manual. Strike one. Second, the Option menu kept coming up on the screen numerous times over a week span without disappearing. Even after researching this issue, the only way to remove it was unplug the DVD player. Lastly, I hated the remote and the apps...for the price of this player, you would expect something a little more solid. After returning this item, I think I’ll just wait for a newer model or a more solid product to play 4K movies.

Slow but great picture

I felt like I was using an 2010 bluray player… slow menu navigation…. Excellent picture though

A cheaper version of the UB9000

Has most of the same components, especially Panasonic's processor, which is why you would want to buy this unit. Build quality is "cheap" for a premium product, but if that bothers you, buy the UB9000

Nice But Way Overpriced

No issues in the 4 months I've owned it. My only complaint is that it's way overpriced in today's world of streaming. This thing should be about half the price.
