Very good, even though when playing some 4K titles such as The Incredibles 2, the picture often gets pixelated halfway through the movie. Restarting the player fixes the problem. This doesn’t happen to my Panasonic UB900 4K player.

Be prepared to be WOWED by 90% of your discs... Also be prepared for 10% of your discs that work great on other players to freeze up and skip for no apparent reason. WAY too much money for something that doesn't work 100% of the time.

Love my Xbox series but didn’t like the blacks on 4K disc. UB820 solves that issue, upscaling is smooth too.

This Panasonic 4k blu ray player is incredible. With Oppo out of the picture that makes this player king of the hill.

Don’t know if mine was defective or not. But image quality was very fuzzy. My Xbox played the movie better so I returned the player and went back to my Xbox. The fuzziness was there on all other players I tried and in the same spots of the movie, but this player made them look worse.

I've been researching and waiting for the UB820-K BluRay player to drop in price for months and on Black Friday it finally did. It went from 499.99 to 397.99 and I snatched it up in a matter of minutes. For the past year I've been building a home theater system and this was the final piece of the puzzle. So far I have nothing but great things to say about the UB820-K (-K means it comes in the color black) BluRay player! I can tell you this much, you WILL NOT find a BluRay player on the market that has more bells & whistles than this one...even @ $499.99. Where I live I can't stream movies (ViaSat internet), so it's old school for me, but I don't mind sounds excellent on my Denon & Klipsch 7.1.4 Home Theater System w/ Dolby Atmos.

Having just bought this unit this morning, it has crashed once already. It sounds good but I cannot get Dolby Atmos on it. I am playing Blade Runner 2049 and no Atmos. I have tried several times to update the Firmware but it says no update is needed. My LG BluRay plays Atmos and this does not. This unit crashed while using YouTube so now it sucks a lot more.

I wanted a BR-UHD player to augment my excellent Oppo 103. Having read all the reviews gushing about the PQ from this player, I bought one, or should I say 3? I hooked up the first one and watched a BR UHD disk. It played fine. Then I tried to play a brand new BR disk (Fire With Fire). It locked up at about 53 minutes into the disk every time I tried it. Thinking it a fluke, I returned it to BB for an exchange. Then I tried the second one. It had the same problem so I returned it too. Finally, the third Panasonic DP-UB820K I tried failed also. Hats off to BB! Thankfully they took each one back and exchanged them but I finally gave up. The same Blu-ray disk played perfectly on my Oppo 103, my LG UBK 80, and my PC's LG BR CDROM. It failed not only on the 3 DP-UB820Ks but also on my older Panasonic DMPBD35 and DMPBDT220 that I had shelved because of their failure to play Blu-ray disks without locking up. Sadly this inability to play Blu-ray disks reliably without locking up is commonly reported by other Panasonic buyers. I can only conclude from the sample of 5 Panasonic BR disk players I tried that Panasonic can't make reliable BR drives. I finally bought a Sony UBP-X800M2 from BB. I tested the same disk and Sony plays it perfectly. So what if it doesn't have the "ultimate PQ"? The Sony's PQ is still great and best of all, it doesn't hang up like all the Panasonic BR players I tried. Playback roulette ruins the entire movie experience. Sorry Panasonic, you've burned this bridge.

Excellent device with incredible reviews. It provides tone map settings for HDR to your TV or projector.

I have Samsung aled TV. This player renders hdr10+ blue Rays beautifully. Just make sure you use a premium high speed hdmi cable

Panasonic is probably the best company that still makes Blu-ray players.

TGreat product. But I paid $500 for a new blu ray player and got a beat up probably open box product. It wouldn't bother me on a cheaper product but at $500 o would expect the package to be in good condition.

Unit is a bit pricey but if you can get it on sale, then it helps with overall value tremendously.
