Beautiful player to. Upgraded from the Sonyx800 for the Dolby vision support. Love it.

After owning the player for a few years it began pausing in the middle of the movie. The only way we can get it to play again is by stopping and then reloading the disc. At first we thought it was just the movie that we are playing but then after it happened quite a few times with various movies we realized it was the player.

At first we were not thrilled, but got a quality HDMI cord and it made a big difference

Overpriced and under-equipped. The Sony 700 is better at half the price. The panasonic remote does not have a button for "subtitles" or "display." The Sony has both. I watched the Criterion Collection DVD of "Downhilll Racer." The DVD menu does not have an option for subtitles, but when you press the subtitle button on the Sony, the come right up. I could never find them on the Panasonic. Worthless.

The tone mapping of HDR10 content is the best on the market, period. It also is capable of processing Dolby Vision and HDR10+ content as well. For the price I expected a much more robustly built case, similar to that of the now discontinued Oppo UDP-203. To get the build quality from Panasonic you have to step up to the DP-UB9000 which cost twice as much and adds tone mapping settings for projectors as well as superior DAC's for two-channel listening.

Item works great! Plays discs very nicely. 4k movies look insanely good.

High price for a 4k Blu Ray player but actually reasonable compared to its competitors in the same class. Noticeable performance upgrade with HDR10+ over the XBOX and also better sound output. Would recommend upgrading the remote to the better version that the next highest model uses.

It doesn’t freeze like the Sony X700 kept doing on triple layer discs. If you have that OLED or that top tier QLED don’t skimp out on the player. I only ended up spending more in the long run.

Very nice player, not quite an OPPO but as close as you can get at this time. Only 4 stars because the build quality could be better. Dolby Vision? Yes, but won't play SACD....but my older OPPO will. So I got that goin for me, which is nice!

I trashed my Sony for constantly freezing a month out of warranty. This player 6 months out of warranty won’t load certain discs, by displaying “Cannot read disc”, or “Copyright Violation”. My discs are kept in pristine condition in the cases so they didn’t go bad overnight. I took it to the best repair shop in my area who I have been dealing with for over 40 years and he couldn’t find anything wrong mechanically with it. As with Sony I will NOT be buying any other Panasonic product.

I bought this very expensive UHD Blu Ray player due to glowing reviews and because it’s enabled to handle many different HDR modes but for me this just hasn’t been the case. I have this unit paired with a brand new LG-C9-55” OLED that I also purchased from Best Buy and when I play an HDR content disc (Planet Earth II) it does NOT display it in HDR. Instead it says “Dynamic Range Conversion”. I know it’s not the TV because when I stream HDR content from YouTube the TV automatically recognizes the content. I’m probably going to unhook the unit and return it. Oh and it’s also not the HDMI cord because I’m using a $40 Belkin 8K cord. Very disappointed in Panasonic.

This player looks great. The only problem is that once in a while, I get sound but the picture drops out. When this happens, if I unplug it and wait a minute, then plug it back in, it then works fine.

I'm only giving this a 3 star because I did not know that it would not play mp4 blu ray disc.

Product after 6 months has completely failed to play any 4k disc. While playing blu rays and dvds just fine. It’s a major factory default experienced by nearly ALL buyers. Panasonic is a very bad company. The quality control is some of the absolute worst I have ever seen. To have a drive failure under 1 year is completely unacceptable.
