I recently purchased an LG OLED and wanted a player to compliment streaming services. After much research I landed on this device. I was unwilling to spend $1000; however I often found limitations from reviews of $2-300 machines (regardless of brand). The only negative is it takes time to spin up a disc. This is not a deal breaker. Also I have to watch full previews bc I don’t readily keep the remote handy (my decision). Picture and sound quality is excellent. I have not tried regular DVDs yet, but Blu-ray upscaling is excellent. So is 4K playback. I would definitely recommend this unit.

WOW! No wonder actors didn't like HD technology. Blemishes, poor make-up artistry, even ear hair and fuzzy hair on women's faces are quite noticeable. Amazing clarity. We run ours through our 300 watt stereo amplifier into Bose and Polk floor speakers. Viewing a concert through our system will make your brains run out your ears. Your have a front row seat at every event. And we're in our 70's.

Easy to setup and plays Blu-ray’s nice and quietly.

Wooo boy so I wanted to love this unit but it has some major problems. Image quality is incredible, nothing to complain about in that regard. Build quality is poor, I don't care that the unit itself is plastic, but the disk tray should be far sturdier than it is. When I have more confidence in a my $50 external PC blu-ray player than a $500 unit that is a problem. The slow menu system is a pain. Worst problem I have is changing audio tracks. A ton of movies don't default to Atmos even if it is on the disk. To change it on the player you have to scroll through every single one, and it forces you to switch to that track first before moving on. Oh and did I mention you can't do this when the movie is paused?

What can I say this player does it all and very well. Hooked to my LG 55" C3 OLED the picture is perfect. The sound processor is very accurate and my home theater has sounded better.

Costs more than other 4K players on the market but after connecting it to my Sony A8H and what I saw had me loving it because it is most definitely worth it’s $500 price and then I bought it when it was on sale for $350, at that price it was a steal. Im happy streaming 4K movies online which look great but just pop in a 4K movie disk in the Panasonic and what you see on your tv looks fantastic and if your on the fence wether you should be buying a 4K player with all those streaming options available these days but if you need to watch the best picture that your tv can offer then you need to buy this player because I believe it’s one of the best on the market now and so glad I bought one.

The star (and strength) of this player is video processing and upscale technology in this unit. UHD discs play flawlessly, as well as BD discs upscaled to 4K televisions. The HDR tone mapping can be adjusted to suit the type of 4K set characteristics which greatly improves HDR performance. The only deficiency - as with many other UHD units with smart TV app streaming - is the GUI and limited streaming app support, Sure, Netflix and YouTube are available, but so far No Disney+, Hulu, etc.

Wow, I never thought I would ever spend this much money on a Blu-ray player but wow is it worth it. I spent a considerable amount of time researching Blu-ray players and this one has a cult following. Previously, I was using my PlayStation 5 to play movies but this player blows it out of the water. I know that it’s expensive but if you’re in the market this is the one to get.

This unit is pretty much plug and play,, it up scales non 4 k movies quite well with few adjustments and Dolby vision and Dolby atmos are automatic on like recorded had movies

I have always had good luck with all of the products I have ever purchased from Panasonic, and so far, this is the greatest (except for maybe the Panasonic 65" VT30 3D HDTV that I still have in the family room). I purchased this one to replace my Samsung 4k UHD DVD player, that I have been using on my Samsung 78" JS9500 3D SUHD TV (which I think is still the best Samsung TV ever made), and what a difference this new unit makes. I compared both players by using the same 4k movies on each one of them. There is by far, more color and details that are very noticeable on this player. My other half, is not really into electronics as I am, but when she entered the room, she noticed the difference, even at a glance. She made a statement like she could not believe how great the detail and how rich the colors are using this new unit. And the up scaling is fantastic using non UHD movies. In fact, you really can't tell the difference very much between 4k and 1080. I know the unit is a little spendy, but well worth it if you are into watching movies. I have not tried the 3D yet, but I'm confident that it works just as well. I also own two other Panasonic DVD players, and I am thankful that the remotes have not changed much. It makes it easy for me to get used to.

One of the few players you can get today with full support for all the HDR formats. Works very well playing all my discs and the output is great. Content upscaling is very good and I have no complaints watching regular 1080p Bluray content on it.

This is hands down, the best Dolby Vision and HDR compatible 4k player i have had. The picture quality is amazing for the price.

Stunning accurate picture quality with the help of my 65" A9F. The upscaling is top notch on this player, it's really worth the price. Make sure you go through your settings on the player thoroughly before using it for movies.

You purchased a high end 4k TV, probably have Dolby Vision, why not get a no fuss player. 4k Blu Rays can be triple layered and some players stuggle with that. Ive used cheapies, ive used my PS5 but always have had certain disk that just struggle. Enter this guy and it handles literally every disk no problem. Search for open box deals

This is a great 4K Bluray Player that gives you the best picture quality possible. The menu leaves something to be desired but the video output is amazing.

This is a good player. Not sure it is worth the premium pricing over some of the more normal players. The user interface is super clunky. There are some annoying things that pop up all the time (hey I want to watch movies, not see a bunch of data before the movie comes on). The whole front panel swings down to expose the disc tray, a frankly way over engineered system I dislike. Honestly, with the front panel closed, the player doesn't look all that good anyway. Video quality is incredible, as you would expect. I had a ton of trouble with audio output. Eventually had to downgrade the pass through to PCM. On Planes Trains and Automobiles, UHD disc, there was only one choice for the standard audio, and my soundbar would not decode it. All the other audio on the disc worked, so did all the alternate languages; just the main soundtrack was silent. Super annoying, I tried everything to get it to work. In the end, the price of this player is so close to the price of a PS5, I decided to return the player and get a PS5 instead. If you only want a UHD disc player, I would really recommend buying a far cheaper one.
