I am very well pleased with the performance and features of this player. I think it is well designed and is very streamlined. It plays dvds, blu-rays and 4k discs without any problems and the video and audio are always great. I would recommend this player to anyone who is looking for a good quality, reliable player. It is also capable of playing CDs but I use a separate cd player when I want to listen to music.

The PQ on this 4K player is amazing out of the box! I was really wanting an Oppo-203, but the price gouging is ridiculous! I'm glad I didn't buy one on Ebay because the PQ with this player slightly edges out the Oppo. If it had SACD/DVD-A playback this would be absolutely perfect, but for most people, that is a non-factor. Highly recommended.

So I was headed him to purchase this at first versus a slightly cheaper model from Panasonic, but after doing some research I ended up pulling the trigger on it and I could not be any happier. Every movie that I've watched on it so far has looked way better than when I was using my Xbox as a DVD player. It's almost like getting a new TV all over again

Got exactly the right price for this well built blu-ray player ... Just a pointer it's dolby vision make sure the tv is dolby vision for optimal tv experience,, any tv will work though

I have been using my gaming console to play 4k UHD movies. I finally upgraded to this player and it is a night and day difference! This player is stunning!

Amazing player, upscales older stuff and will present your actual 4k in the best way possible. Highly recommended.

Just got thru hooking this up to my Samsung 7250 tv. The set up was easy because I was able to read the manual prior to purchasing(you can download from the Panasonic website). Please beware that you must have a 2.2 HDMI compliant set and you can also google that information. I haven't purchased any ultra4k disks yet but I tried one of blu ray discs and it was awesome. What a difference from my old blu ray player.

There are a few minor issues (I’d like more choices when adding apps, it can take away to load disc because it asks disc/ or usb every time you load a disc) but those aren’t real breakers. The picture quality is incredible! Even streaming 4K Netflix looks better through this unit. The only thing I would change is the placement of the Netflix button on the remote. Haha

Awesome Picture quality! Best 4K player I’ve owned. Easy to set up. Dolby Vision movies look incredible. Can’t wait to set up surround sound and test that out on this player.

Plays all high end DVDs accurately (ultra 4k). Fast with plenty of features. Menus are archaic and much of the on-screen information is more technical than necessary. If you don't care about what's going on in the background, this is a great player.

The best option for affordable 4k viewing. No freezing on triple layers discs

I think this is the best 4K blu ray player available under $500 (and maybe under $900!) 4K blu rays look stunning. This player has an HDR optimizer feature, and also allows you to select your preferred TV type for optimal picture (OLED, lcd, etc.) this lets the player do tone mapping, which can help to achieve the best picture quality for your tv. If you’re in the market for a 4K blu ray player and you’re looking at Sony, LG, etc. look into this player first. The menu is a bit clunky and takes some getting used to, but the picture and audio quality make up for this.

There are some good 4K players out there but this is one of the best! The HCX chip and HDR optimizer combine to give the greatest picture possible no matter what the overall nit (brightness) rating tv you have. On top of that you have the usual excellent build and fit and finish quality from Panasonic. The only other player that may be better is the UB9000 series from Panasonic coming later this year, which will use the exact same picture processing, but utilize better sound components.

Well worth the price. I got this as an upgrade and the picture, and sound quality are a lot better. It's nice that it automatically switches from Dolby vision to HDR10.

I went through two players and experienced the same issue with both which was skipping and momentary freezing with loss of audio on 4k disc playback. Playing XMen Apocalypse, Avengers Endgame, Alien 40th Anniversary(HDR10+): all skipped at random places during the movie. I even made sure my discs were perfectly clean. Tested and made sure all my high speed hdmi cables were connected and working properly. When the movies played smoothly the picture looks fantastic and really pushed my Samsung q8fn to it's full potential but nothing ruins movie night worse than freezing at the most important parts of a movie. The HDR Optimizer really sets these units apart I think and works really great even on streaming content. I picked up an Xbox One X and after getting all the settings right on the tv and console I'd say the picture is about 90-95% that of the Panasonic. For the premium cost of this unit I definitely expected better performance and just couldn't tolerate the skipping and freezing. Perhaps a future firmware will address these issues but for now I'm not willing to wait to see if that happens. Unfortunately I'll be returning the second as well.
