I decided to treat myself and purchased this excellent 4k bluray player. It has great interface and the setup was easy. The only complaint that I have is that it has a limited amount of streaming apps. Other than that is is a great product that is in a class of it's own.

Content playback visually on this unit is superior to most brands on the market. However, every time I adjust the audio settings to pick up Dolby Atmos, 4K UHD Blu-Ray movies experience sound cut-out 45 - 60 minutes into the movie. The unit and/or the AVR has to be reset to turn the sound back on for it to start skipping out again and again until the movie concludes. Turning Dolby Atmos off, I do not experience the sound cutting out issue. I own a Denon AVRX8500HA receiver and running audio via HDMI out from the blu-ray player. I have tried fiber optic and standard HDMI cables, and still getting the same issue. Disappointed to have spent so much money on a glitchy unit.

This was well worth the price and I hope everyone that has physical media can have this one day.

The DP-UB820 also covers all the necessary bases where HDR (high dynamic range) formats are concerned. There’s HDR10 and Dolby Vision support out of the box, and HDR10+ support too. If your TV supports these formats, the Panasonic will be happy to oblige. The same can’t be said for a number of rival manufacturers’ players.

Panasonic was never a consideration until this player. The lack of high end Blue Ray/ 4k DVD in the market strengthens justification of Panasonic high cost with excellent results.

I love this player. Ultra HD just pops out at you.

If you’re debating between the LG and the Sony 4k players don’t buy either. Get this one the others are junk I owned others and they broke, don’t work right and are loud plus the Sony can’t auto detect Dolby vision. Spend the extra money if you can to get a really good player.

UHD discs can be much more finicky that DVD's or Blu Rays. I had a cheaper-priced Sony UBP X700 that stuttered and stopped on over half of the discs I had purchased. Playing them all back on the Panasonic, they were rock-solid. No playback issues whatsoever.

Excellent picture quality in 4K Ultra HD. Easy to set up and use.

This Panasonic DP-UB 820 to play UHD blue ray with HDR. this player solved my problem of some HDR movies being too dark. I use a JVC projector and 146" screen. BIG difference from my Oppo 203 !!.

This player represents the best mainstream player out at the moment. It shines as a disc player with features, HDR Optimizer, unavailable to other players at this price in the USA. The only aspect that is a bit lacking is streaming and dedicated devices are readily available.

I love this Blu-ray player. Its so smooth and the image is amazing.

With the end of the leader (Oppo) this is the next best thing. Very good PQ and great value even those it may not have ALL the media player options of Oppo players. Forget the low cost Blu Ray/4K players if you want the best quality

1st one went bad in to months. Had the plan spent 9 weeks in best buy repair. Came back lasted 1 week took 2 weeks to ok a replacement. Best Buy had it more than I did. 2cd one is doing good so far. Best one for the price between picture and sound quality can be hard to understand things during setup want someone around who understands all the tech lingo in the menus to get best picture.

The unit I purchased was not perfect even though it was new. The overall quality is good but it could use a bit of polishing.

Simply beautiful the way I play the movies. Streaming sucks now
