Not able to set up with remote … cannot change hdmi settings

nice 4k player when there's not many players in the game. but, it's overpriced.it has a HDR optimizer that you can play with adjusting the picture. it's not worth $500 bucks. I returnedf it.

This is an overrated 4 k player . It would state out of range most of the time when using with my JVC RS2000 projector...all hook ups were right to...i went with the Sony flagship player instead!!!!

I have had this player almost two months. Unfortunately I didn’t realize until now that it won’t play any CD’s (brand new or old) without cutting out every 30 seconds. Is there a software update that will fix this problem?

This unit is very good, however I cannot get the optical audio output to work.

Great unit bit apps are sparse and useless. ir Controls are primitive

Like the Sony x800m2 before it, this skips, stutters and artifacts on disc my Xbox one S played fine. This was somehow worse than the Sony as well..

This is good for playing 4k movies. The streaming part is pointless with all the smart TVs available. You can hear the fan but the movie will drown it out.

we returned this item being it was first costly and the picture was different we got a cheaper one sony and i think its alot better

Alway has trouble with new 4 K blue rays works with regular ones in multi disc packages. Brought in for service told nothing was wrong

this piece of crap will not play blueray or super audio discs. Which why I purchased it. DO NOT BUY

Amazing 4K but for some reason mine doesn’t play blu ray discs… maybe it’s a defect in mine…

box was opened ripped and taped shut like someone inspected it and didnt come with accessories. speaker dented

I've owned the Oppo 103, 105, and 203. I've owned Samsungs first 4k player, Sonys UBP-X800 and 700 so I have plenty of experience reviewing this product. This product is often compared to the Oppo 203 since this is a premium product. First, the Oppo has it beat in two areas(build quality and audio features). I am not a audiophile but I am definitely a videophile. This is where the Panasonic 820 best the Oppo. The in player tone mapping feature is marvelous. What this does is it allows you to make adjustments in color, brightness, luminance, and sharpness that allows you to match your tvs picture adjustments. Often times HDR is displayed to dark on your tv. This solves that problem. It has a HDR optimizer. It comes with a firmware upgrade that will enable Dolby Vision and it supports HDR10 for future proofing. Black Panther, MI: Rouge Nation, Avengers, Infinity War is pure eye candy. It has 3 apps, Netflix, Amazon prime and You tube. I have a apple streaming box so this doesn't matter to me. So for all you videophiles(I say that because a casual person most likely won't spend 500 on a player) take the leap and you will definitely land with both feet on the ground.

Two and a half years ago I purchased a very expensive brand name Blu-ray player that never really worked well and finally stopped working altogether. I had an old Panasonic Blu-ray player (over 10 years old) that still worked fine so it filled in while I decided what to purchase next. In short, I watched a number of videos describing this player’s operation and decided to give it a try. I believe it displays a better image than my previous Blu-ray player especially with upscaling dvds. There were problems setting up the sound. One of the main reasons I chose this model was because it had an optical input. At first I couldn’t get it to work. By reading the operational manual I learned if you use an optical input you first must turn off the audio HDMI. Did it. Still no sound. So for a day or so I was stumped. Finally by trial and error I changed the PCM mode to bit stream and it worked. Great sound. Maybe somebody knowledgeable with all this stuff would have known from the get go what to do but that’s not me. One other thing, it has a fan but the only time I have hear it is when I am playing a dvd, why I don’t know. Once the show gets going I don’t hear it. It has never distracted my viewing experience. Two and a half years from now if it is still playing this well, I’ll give it five stars.
